I have taken 4th year extended warranty. I have also paid for insurance renewal last week and it doesn't cover road side assistance. As per Hyundai website, the RSA is free for basic warranty period which is 2 years (50Km from ASC). I called the service center and confirmed that this additional RSA will apply post the basic warranty period. So, If I take for 2 years, I will have RSA till the 4th year. For the price it seems reasonable. However, We may only use the services in case tyre puncture or mechanical issues. Other cases mentioned are going to by very rare.

P.s- Towing is only within 10km of SVC, that does not make sense at all. What if you're on highway between 2 towns? Mahindra offers 50km towing free of charge in RSA.
Just for the sake of some tashan
VW not only gave me around 100 kms of the tow but also took care of my cab expenses too after my car was with them for a warranty repair.

Anyone got issue with Xcent Gearbox.

I am having Xcent CRDI purchased 1 year ago, there was drop of oil leak beneath the car.First i showed to Hyundai service centre and told me for engine oil seal replacement again issue continued.Again they told there needs gearbox oil seal replacement for the issue..on opening gearbox they said input shaft notch (gear selector) got broken and need replacement.

I am worried whether dismantling gearbox will result in lose of smooth movement even after replacement of this shaft notch. is it advisable to ask for replacement of gearbox as a whole. pls advice.

Hi,
I was out of station for 1 month, to my surprise car started in first crank.

Hi,
I could suggest you to get extended warranty asap. The crdi engine is having some issues like pulley, turbocharger etc. i saw these news in various threads.

Reg Gear box, nothing much they do replacement and check. you have to double check my taking the car to trail after service with SA.

Hi.
I just purchased grand i10 sports (without alloy option) and i started noticing problems with my gearbox. Firstly when the car was new all the gears were very hard fortunately i had them fixed. Then after some time the reverse gear could not be put many times. I had it checked and they tuned the clutch. Its been like 3 times since then that i hve again visited the company against this problem. I then thought that maybe its my fault as i am a new driver but when i googled it i found that many were facing the same prob. I dont know what to do
This is my first car.
I think i should complain in consumer court

Issue in reverse gear on my Grand i10

My car sometimes just refuses to slot in reverse gear. even pushing hard it does not slot in reverse. it goes in all other gears that time except reverse gear. What could be the problem that only reverse gear does not slot. I do press clutch full only. The hyundai guys say it is due to clutch freeplay getting loose but i have not seen it happening in other cars, after adjusting the clutch play the gears do seem a lil better but im still not sure as its been 2 days only. What could be the issue ? should it not affect all gears if it was just the clutch play that was not right ? car is around 1.5 years old

This problem I found in Grand i10 too. Does not engage in reverse. After a slight movement in first gear solves the issue. But couldn't show the issue to ASS as at that time it was working very fine. [roll]

Agree. Happens quite often in my 3 year old Grand i10 as well. Only the reverse gear has this problem, but not faced regularly.

Yeah either move car in front a bit and then reverse or restart the engine. I always have to restart the engine as i park just a few inches from the wall. Even i could not show the issue in the two times i tried showing at the SVC. On the recent clutch play adjustment done last week seems to be working for now as i haven't had this issue coming up again in past 10 days. I'm just worried this may not be a gearbox/clutch issue that will burn a big hole after warranty ends in 6 months. Sucks we have no laws to protect us, with many grandi10 owners i asked facing this problem there has been no recall in india.
Really embarrassing when you give your ride to others and they think you have a crappy car that cant even shift.

Has any Grandi10 owner fixed this reverse gear not engaging issue permanently? I got it checked a month ago and they adjusted clutch and it worked great for 4 weeks till last week. Now i have again had the issue come up many times. Hoping its not related to clutch or gearbox.
