I just came back from a 50km drive and taken some observations.
1. Slight humming sound is coming on smooth roads. Doesn't seems tire noise. Its like hissing sound. I tried it on rolling also, engine off and traffic less road. The ghere ghere and smooth sound is coming from rear side or some unkNown source.

2. Gearshift is some what tight and shift with mild click sound. Service guy explained that it will smooth after one to two days.

Does anyone owning grand i10 or event observe the same rolling kind of noise. Make sure it is not tire noise?

Does your car perform slight gher gher while turning slowly on squares?

The comman parameter is smooth roads.

1. If all other tracing fails, what you maybe suffering is Resonance. Have you modified the car in any way? (Installing new speakers, Bumpers, Amps, Change in tyre, alloys Or ANYTHING?)

If so, the change in weight/ resonant frequency might be introducing humming in metal.
The way here is to go for Dynamat/ Damping sheets.

2> common on new cars. Reverse is Still hard on my i10 after 30k+ Kms

3> I own Old gen Hyundai i10. The tyre noise is not exactly smooth. I have upgraded to yokohama Earth 1s and There is definate improvement over bridgestones.

I bought brand new Grand i10 2 months ago and drove it around 2500 KMs, I observed the clutch to be very hard from the day one, I thought it will adjust slowly with driving but there is no improvement till date, My daily run is around 50 Kms in full B2B traffic and with such hard clutch , my toes started giving up[frustration]. Recently I drove it for 100 KMs without halt and observed few points:
- Clutch engaged smoothly for the first 10 KMs unless touched highway after getting to the higher speeds (90-100 KMs) clutch became very hard, observed brake paddle also becoming harder with speed.
- Gears become harder with speed and resist any change.
- Once entered into traffic for 2-3 KMs the clutch again became smooth along with brake.
- Whenever I drove it on uneven roads the clutch /Gear becomes harder and smooths down retaining smooth roads. by Smooth it didn't mean usual it's still unusually hard.
When shown it to A.S.S the usual comments received-
- You must be riding half clutch (which is not possible with such a hard clutch)
- It will get settled with mileage you cover.
I regret my purchase and now feel Maruti Switf would have been better option as I never faced such issues with Swift.

Of all the cars in our garage, my Xcent is the the very soft clutch and it is reportedly mentioned by all of my family members. Even i feel it is too soft! [:D]

I guess the problem you are facing is one oddball issue. You better write to Hyundai and see what happens. Maybe there is some QC missed defect and hyundai may help you fix it? Why not try this?

Today after i removed my reverse gear lock the gear was literally stuck and even using clutch or without it was not budging even on medium force. I then clutched and started engine and it became normal again, any idea what could have caused it ? I Still rarely get that clutch not engaging issue even on trying to reverse etc. Feels like my Grand i10 has a bad gearbox.

Also has anyone have any issues of boot not closing properly, i feel i have to use too much force to close it.

Also my rear bumper got replaced recently and the HASS did not install my cam and have just put it inside the rear light enclosure from where its connection starts. I thought of trying to remove the light and fix it but the light did not budge even on removing the 2 screws visible, how do i remove the rear left light ? i could only see 2 screws.

@Samhyundai - get it checked at some other HASS, i feel grand has one of the lightest clutches, it should not be hard at all. Gearshift on driving also quite smooth.

My clutch is normal and not "Too Soft" like others mentioned. I bought two Grand i10's on same day and the clutch for other car is "Too Soft". I wrote to Hyundai and got a response very next day, @ Garve Hyundai Pune the service Manager took a test drive and found it normal and hence didn't paid much attention, rather they changed some setting near Clutch cable (I guess some screw was moved) and it became slightly easy for few KMs , but again became normal. all I am wishing it to be "Too Soft" like my other Grand i10.
@Puneet848 If your RPMs are not fluctuating in idle, you don't have any issues with clutch, I also faced similar problems earlier but I used to apply force to engage (as suggested by Hyundai SM) reverse gear and in a week it got settled on slot.

My petrol grand seems to have some gear issue. A lot of times the reverse gear does not fully engage even if i try harder. If i leave clutch its that kharrrr loud noise as if i broke something. This happens only in reverse gear for me. Usually when it happens i put in first and then go to reverse again and it engages ok. what can be the issue ? could it be the reverse gear lock guy when fixing the lock fiddled something ?
It's a known problem with all Grand i10's I own two Grand i10 (both Petrol Sportz) and both have same issue. you have to cautiously apply some 'Jerk' to engage reverse, as per Hyundai Service Manager (GArve Hyundai , Pune) it's built intentionally to avoid engaging reverse gear accidentally

Grand i10 missing

My grand i10 is a new, I bought from 8 month ago. When I starting engine after few minute there is a fluctuate of engine metre very little. When I switch on the head light then more up & down the accelerometer. If I use the A/C tremendously up & down accelerator meter. I think there is a mulfunction on tbe current line.

I think by engine meter you meant rpm. Well there could be lots of things but a little bit fluctuating while putting ac on is noticeable on a 3 cylinder 1200 cc. But do give it a to service station, may be cleaning throttle body helps you.

Hi, Get it checked with Service Station, the RPM Meter doesn't behaves as you are mentioning. RPM shd settle around 1000-1500 RPM, on idle. Operating lights will not affect the RPM, AC will surely affect but just a marginal.

There might be some other issue.

I would recommend to get it checked at A.S.S, On Idling it should settle at 1200 RPM on cold engine, once you drive for a while and engine heat indicator settled to mid the RPM should settle at 800 RPM. no fluctuation should be taken easily as it may be indicating major issues. (Clutch , Pistons, gearbox etc). when you turn on headlights / AC, engine shares some power to battery chargers but your engine should not reflect that power load shedding at RPM.

can anyone please explain how it works.
anti theft alarm etc

mine has ASTA model and i have tried almost everything but no sound, no honking no alarm like things i received till date. my dzire used to honk with heavy siren if attempted by manniual key or unauthorized access. i dont have any idea about my grand i10

Strange ! I tried this in my Xcent, and it was working. I got out/locked my car, while my wife was still inside. when she opened her door, it triggered the Alarm !

I thought only I hear this. This happened only when we are about to release, say after 75% of clucth action. I think we need to get it checked at HASS!
