I recently visited the Hyundai ASS for my second service for oil change and the regular inspection of the car. After finishing the visit the car service,I return to my home and park the car.Next morning when I put the Key in "ON" mode a hiss sound appears to be coming for two seconds beneath the car rear.Whenever I put the key in "ON" mode the sound comes but without starting the Engine. If I start the engine and the turn off the engine then putting the key in "ON" mode will not generate any sound. Please help me as I approach the service center there is no sound to be checked as the Engine warms up.They have checked the car and says that there is no problem. The ECU check is not giving any fault. Please give advice if this is common to Grand i10.

Hi,
I have an Xcent and have heard the same noise. It's been there always. I think might be fuel pump running and getting the required fuel pressure. But, Im no expert in this. I'm not sure if you are referring to the same noise. If so, its probably ok.

I think there is a pump which flush out the excess evaporation of the fuel(Summer time). I was reading in some other forum about this and they say that this is normal but they were talking about diesel SUV 4X4.Don't know if this applies to Petrol cars also.Even their owner manual mentioned this in contrary to Grand i10 model where nothing about this phenomenon is mentioned.Has everyone with the Hyundai Xcent and Grand i10 noticed the same?

Even the service center technicians were unaware of this.Is your i10 1.1 running smoothly?

Yes, I have Xcent, and this "hiss" sound is there at the time of switching on. It has been there since day 1.And also in the car which i took the test drive. I had asked the Vendor to confirm this noise, they said, it's there in all Xcent/Verna/i 20/ i 10.

So today I gave my car, Xcent S Petrol, for 3rd free service in the morning. He promised to return me the car by 6pm. And then SA called up around 4pm, to inform that the A/C compressor belt is in very bad condition and needs to be changed. I never felt any abnormalities in A/C effectiveness, but still I don't want to leave any stone un-turned. So I gave a go ahead for them, instructing them to send me the old one.

Is it common for such part to go bad in such short period of time? What will be my next move? I want to ask for opinions before I write to Hyundai regarding the same!

^^ Let me get the belt, examine it and post here. And wait for other people to comment on this. Meanwhile, I'm digging hard to find the root cause!

I think you should be physically present during the inspection and the oil change.
No need for that. I knew them very well and they knew about me. Anyways will post the picture of the belt soon. A single thread out of it was torn and hanging, and so it was changed. Make sense!

First you say that the service person told you that the belt was in very bad condition and now you are saying that only a thread was torn out.Clarify what you want.Well you know better about Hyundai ASS.
