went to the audio dealer but HU was working fine and no interference i radio in front of him[confused] also i forgot to take warranty card so he refused to open unit and i could not pressure him as radio was working ok. now back home i put key in but again getting noises in radio [frustration] whther engine on /acc mode /or just audio the noise remains in my car when using radio as audio source.
Maybe your location is the culprit behind the radio interference. Do other cars in your area have the same problem? Do you park the car in the basement?

Cant be location as i travel in city only and the problem i encounter while driving everywhere. will go again this sunday with the warranty cards etc.

In other news i filled petrol from a diff bunk this time (delhi-gurgaon border mg road) and i feel quite a difference in driving. Engine feels very responsive in all gears now and mileage also seems to be going good than previous where i got around 14 from my petrol car. for others kindly stay away from bunk near signature towers in gurgaon. Will stick to this bunk only now.

Nothing at All, I drive a lot from Vadodara to Mumbai, Vadodara to Delhi, and mostly on 90-110, and never faced any issues. Occasionally i burst to 140, but no such problems.

Any idea, what will be the reserve petrol capacity? Means, petrol level while Fuel Indicator blinks on MID?
Check the owner's manual. Or calculate the approx lit. of fuel left according to the DTE counter. When the low fuel light blinks, note down the number of kms shown on the DTE and divide them by the approx. mileage that you have been getting. [:)]

it becomes too light after 110kmph, have to work hard to keep it in a straight line. [frustration]
Hmm, yes it does get's a bit lighter. but should not be tough to keep it in straight line !. anyway, you should get it checked it once at Service center, till it's in warranty, just to make sure, nothing's wrong.

got it checked at Modi Hyundai service center, had previously given at Shreenath center for the same prob but the reported nothing in their findings. At Modi, i was informed that when they tested the ECU at standstill, it showed nothing wrong, but when they tested it in moving car, they found a code error in speed sensor.

Speed sensor is situated above gear box and has connections in gearbox and steering. so they flashed the ECU and corrected the code error which results in some different feeling in the steering (never felt so smooth before, no dead center).

they also informed that in all cars, at high speed (90-100kmph in xcent) the EPS shuts down and the steering goes in manual mode. Hence any steering behaviour after EPS shutting depends on the road and the tyre grip. This was news for me.

Hi all,
I just came back from a ~650km trip to my native place and yercaud. The car performed very well throughout on both highways and ghat sections.
I had filled up partially at BP shoolagiri continued driving. I had to make a hard braking to a stop for a signal on the highway. I wasn't pressing the clutch as I was cruising for quite sometime and was resting my left foot on the floor. I ended up stalling the engine from 5th gear at the traffic light. I'm not sure if this will do any serious damage to the engine.
The following day I noticed when I try to accelerate hard on 3,4 or 5th gear around 1800-2200 rpm under load, I could hear a faint ticking noise from the hood. As if the engine is being lugged. It is very faint and not audible if you have music playing at the low or medium volume.
I've never experienced this even while accelerating hard earlier.
I'm not sure what is causing this. Only two things that I suspect now is
1) Stalling the engine from 5th gear.
2) I had filled up ~12lts from BP in shoolgiri. Perphaps the fuel is poor quality? Until now, I have always filled from Shell.

On the way back today, I pushed upto 130km/h and the car handled very well except the ticking noise around 2k rpm (not before or after).

Guys, Any idea on the above issue? I switched back to Shell fuel last week and still notice the noise when accelerating on load around 2k rpm. Has anyone else observed it?

Thanks

Dunno what the issue is. It seems radio reception is great near old delhi road where i got the stereo as it always works well when i try to show the issue at the shop. everywhere else in gurgaon i get frequent sound distortion in radio. radio inside city should work flawless right at all times ? i dont even go to remote places etc.

Pleas check the valve lifters. But this problem only occurs in older cars due to wear and tear. So, I am hoping it is not a valve lifter problem in your car. Keep us posted if you rectify the problem
