Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol. 1000Kms & Banged (Details on Page 5)

I was thinking whether the dealer is charging me more as I am to. Claim insurance.
It seems the cost is OK then?
You are right. Always dealer will play around in these kind of things. In my case Yes I have dent in fender and am sure bumper is not affected at all. And also in my opinion Fender also can be repaiered just simply by tinkering.

But these guys told me that Bumper need to be changed.

In my case both fender as well bumper has problem. But in your case only read bumper right?

Apart from the bumper,in my case the body where the boot door locks is also bent. They straightened it a bit that day. As per the HASS manager it has also disturbed boot door alignment. I have the boot door warning light continuously on since the hit.
I am sure the hit has been taken by some body member on rear as the Alto's bonet has bent.
Anyways I said Hyundai guy lets only fix the bumper and leve ine internal denting,as per them it is needed as all the parts will be aligned together[roll]

Hi Guys..

I am planning a long trip over the next weekend. My Grand has just run 300km till date , but the trip distance is (Bangalore-Rameshwaram-Bangalore - 1300km + 100 Odd km for local sight seeing) .

The first service is due between 1200-1500km so i am in a dilemma whether to take my car or not..i hardly get any long weekends to plan for long trips [frustration] and now i am caught in this awkward sitiuation .

Just wanted to know if its ok to stretch to 1600-1700km before 1st servicing [cry] ?

Thanks and Regards

At your Hyundai dealership. It affects your warranty so better to be careful.

It is better to visit HASS and if they are OK to get the car after your long trip, get the same in writing from them that will not affect any warranty.

Sometimes these guys will be O.K for now, later no one takes responsibility. It is better to get everything in writing from them.

Really wondering. Do we need all such precautions. And how does the warranty will get void here. No manual says you are not supposed to go for a long trip.

Just am asking this since this is new to me.

At the time of warranty claim they will check all records and may say
That you did not follow service schedule as pee OEM guidelines

Ok. There is a service at 1000 KMs right. and his travel is more than 1000 KMs. Now I see the Logic.

Sethu, manual doesn't say anything that one should not go for a long trip. But, when it comes to claiming warranty, the first thing they check is whether you have did the servicing on time. They have every right to deny a claim if you don't service on time. That's why most people stick with the company service till their warranty period is over and later switch to third party like Carnation which is much cheaper.

Is that true that some third party service is cheaper than the dealer? and how about the quality of the service?

Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Booked & Delivered

This heart breaking incident happened to me on Saturday.
We were driving home from my in-laws place, I noticed a alto was tailgating me.
We were driving around 60KMPH as the road wasn’t too good. And there was no chance of allowing overtaking as I could see a Truck followed by a Maruti Omni followed by me and then this fellow. AND truck braked then Omni and me ,my reflexes turned to the IRVM
to see the MORON coming and BANG. It was not a dead stop braking situation, the omni and I had our distances to downshift and brake still this moron couldn’t control his car.

I parked my vehicle aside and walked to see the damages, then turned to this fellow who still had his car on the road. He was alone in the car and laying on the steering wheel telling that he can’t move his hand.
I offered water and help to park his car aside but he wasn’t looking at me and was talking only to other bikers who stooped to help.
It didn’t take us long to figure out that it was a sympathy gaining trick. Sadly we walked away with the enforced damage.

Most importantly I had my 6month old kid aboard and the moment I spotted this Moron tailgating had told my wife to sit firm and hold the baby properly supporting her neck etc. fortunately no injuries.
Later visited the Hyundai dealership, they will looked for the availability of parts (certain brackets etc. they were talking about) and inform me as when they can fix the damage. I will prefer to do it with 1st service as its approximately 300Kms away.

Guys please help me to analyze the situation as I want to learn from this:
1) What could I have done to avoid this situation?

2) What can one do in such situation if he can’t do from physical and abusing assault?

3) Any suggestions whether I should claim it in insurance or not?

4) Thoughts of those front and rear bumper protection guards are creeping in my mind, though I don’t like them much.

DAMAGE:

So sad, unfortunately there is nothing you can do.

Same thing happened to me last week. I am still waiting for the spare parts at my ASC. I hope it won't cost you too much.
