I meant Having spent 2 .5 YEars with teh car now I feel Engine and Trans are fine with May Car (for manufacturing defect point of view). SO I didnt find a point on extended warranty. Rather spend the additional money on a Full comprehensive insurance that also gives me RSA.
I had an issue with the AC
compressor which was resulting in a loopy idle /fluctuating rpm and I got a new compressor under warranty last March. Therefore got the extended warranty. Engine and transmission are the most important parts and since my grand runs daily I just got it, just in case something goes wrong. Replacement of such parts without warranty will be rather heavy on the pocket.

3 weeks after spending 40k on repairs on my 10 month old grand i10, an idiot in my bldg rammed into the front bumper of my car while reverse parking his/her car. though no dents but paint on LHS is totally scraped off.

Since Hyundai have stopped installing security alarms in any model of Gi10. Is there any aftermarket security alarm that will turn on the alarm sound & indicator lights when someone forcefully enters locked car / ramms my car? Or maybe even alert me somehow.

The car was parked 10 steps away from the watchman but as usual they slept during night duty & the person who bumped my car might have parked somewhere else.

^^Go to 99rpm: 100% Authentic Car Spare Parts and you will find a gold mine awaiting you. I guess on that store they have every single spare of Grand i10 along with the OEM alarm too.

www.99rpm.com is gold mine for Tata, Fiat and Hyundai owners at least.
Another one is www.spareshub.com I guess from where low cost but OEM quality VW etc parts can be procured.

Hello Members,

This is my first post. Please excuse for any errors.
@ Moderator(s): Please move to appropriate thread if not the right place.

I've booked and Grand i10 AT. Delivery expected by 15th. Please guide me with some planned upgrade. Must criteria is "NOT" to disturb the warranty. I could get 3rd year extended after much of follow-ups.
1. Headlights: I am thinking about Philips X-treme Vision +. Please share your experience compared to OEM.
2. Horn: Something really audible and attention catching.
3. Cabin lights: I prefer white light for interior.
4. Arm rest: Advice please.

1. If you have some more bucks to spend, then Osram Nightbreakers are a better bet than XV. Improvement from OEM won't be much noticeable but your warranty would be intact. You can change foglamp bulbs to HIDs if looking for some drastic lumens! [:D] HIDs would cost 3k and Osram/Philips replacement bulbs are 1-1.5k.

2. Get Hella Red Grill horn. Very effective and normal sounding (nothing over-the-top or fancy). But as you said something attention catching, get Minda Trumpet, Bosch Symphony or Roots Windtone. My personal favourite is the Minda Trumpet. Cost around 600 bucks.

3. Get cabin lamp from ebay.in with a festoon adjustable connector. SMD LED one or COB, both will be fine though the latter would be brighter. Cost would be around 200 bucks.

4. I think some members have fitted armrest in their Xcent. If you want to do a DIY, get universal armrest from ebay.in and fit yourself. Cost is around 1.2k IIRC.

Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

I installed the arm rest which cost me 900 from ebay and fits with the local mechanics. It is very comfortable. Visit this link:CAR Multi ARM Rest Console BOX Storage Purpose IN Black Colour | eBay

for led scuff plates, i ordered for that and waiting for delivery. Visit here:Hyundai Grand I10 LED Scuff Plate IN Blue Colour | eBay

3d mat i got from ebay for 2300 worth very neat

I got the L shaped LED day time light and tried to fit with the help of the local hyundai showroom technician, they told that there locks around the fog lamps. So they cant drilled the holes and damage the parts. So i placed in the front grill.

And last i replaced the horn with Skoda/VW type dual horn which sounds good as the company horn is very low.

Hi Harri,
can you post the pics of the Armrest. I have ordered the same from ebay.in

I am trying to install in my Xcent.

Thanks much for your prompt reply. Point wise:
1. I will certainly consider Osram. But as you mentioned not much difference w.r.t OEM, I may wait to see if OEM itself could be sufficient for me. Also any link to go through the details about HID bulb for grand i10 fog-lamps. Will this be "DIY"?
2. Minda seems good.
3. I can see this and this. Second one has some issue with fitment. Any suggestion here?

1. Yes, it is always better to experience OEM bulbs yourself instead of believing what others say. For HID upgrade, search for threads by forum member bhvm regarding HID, XUV500 and Blue boy i10. I have posted some links below. Fitting HIDs is a 30-45 minute job. Grand i10 will have H27 I think, same as i10. I will PM bhvm, he will help you.

3. Both are very expensive. Get something like this with an adapter, which means the light will fit for sure - Click here

Thank you for Inviting me, IW.
Vkumar,
1> please check the user manual for Fog Bulb Types. Its usually H27. But its better to Confirm.
2> OEM bulbs can only offer so much illumination. We are following a British era 55/60 Standard which provides about 1100~1200 Lumens. Dimmer than Most Household CFL lamps. As the cars improved in speed and performance, this Standard is woefully inadequate and is on the borderline of dangerous.
3> Adding 4300K HID kit in Fogs will serve you as a second set of low beams. Helping you spot Potholes/Speedbreakers/Dogs etc. The Output of these bulbs Is INSANE.

at 3200+3200 Lumens, you won't even bother with Headlamps now on. They just get eaten up by HIDs.

HELLO EVERYONE , HAPPY NEW YEAR ( do i look over excited :P , indeed i am )

lets just say this past year has been really lucky , got so many things from parents , but the best part was the pre Christmas gift was i got somewhere around 7th dec , and this is my ownership review about the FOCUS LED MINI H1 PROJECTOR SETUP , which i got installed on the 7th / 8th of dec . It started on 11 am on 7th dec , but ended on 2am on 8th dec . Yes right the owner was so comfortable in letting me sit all the time and infact he was personally working with my car and his technician :D This all took place in AK CUSTOMS , which is in Delhi , will be attaching all the Facebook links for the reference .

But now coming back to this beast .
The Setup included -
1. FOCUS LED MINI H1 PROJECTOR FOR HEADLIGHTS - 5000K .
2. FOG LAMP UP-GRADATION - SAME HID KIT AS USED IN PROJECTOR . 5000K .

both the kits are 55w , Nhk ballast and CN lights Bulbs . very good quality overall .
the wiring was also form nhk , also a good mark of quality .

The whole setup was carried out with a lot of precautions taking into consideration the new car warranty shouldn't be void.
This also included a custom touch to the same , which was to color the inner housing of the headlight orange . (why that ) because soon i am planning to get some racing stripes done in orange and i didnt want my headlight not to compliment my stripe job .

now coming to the output of the setup .

1. this is super freaking bright . [clap]
2. the overall beam length has improved from maybe 50 ft to 100 ft. [clap]
3. the halo ring and fog setup is almost equal to anyone low beam . no need for projectors in city . [clap]

attaching images for the same .

@bhvm - your feedback is very valuable on this . :D

Pictures List order -
1. halo + Fog
2. Right headlight
3. Left headlight
4. beam focus .
5. halo + projector + #akcustoms
6. Low beam
7. High beam .
8. Fog + halo ( sorry for the flash )
9 . super bright halo ( looks blue but is 6000k )

and for the reference , here are the links .

1. AKCUSTOM - https://www.facebook.com/customsak/...1351019912311/916937195020359/?type=3&theater

This is the link to more pictures which i shared .

2. FOCUS LED - https://www.facebook.com/focusledindia/

this is the dealer through which i got my kit .

Super thumbs up for both . but please note that this is no product advertising nor a direct promotion scheme . just a reference for everyone . :)

Cheers People :D

Thanks for pitching in bhvm.
It took some extra to go through the detailed review by you. Kind of encyclopedia, really loved going through.

1. It is H27 as per grand i10 manual.
2. Will wait on this.
3. Going for this one. One small doubt though. Did you meant UGLARE - 35W H27 4300K AC HID Conversion Kits

Link provided by you refers to H7 from same seller.

To all the Hyundai car owners, how much old manufacturing date is OK to book the car? How many months old was your Grand i10 when the vehicle was booked/delivered? Also what color is the most preferred by Grand i10 buyers? Orange, Wine red or Stardust Grey?
