To all the Hyundai car owners, how much old manufacturing date is OK to book the car? How many months old was your Grand i10 when the vehicle was booked/delivered? Also what color is the most preferred by Grand i10 buyers? Orange, Wine red or Stardust Grey?
Nothing hard and fast but in my opinion 3 months should be fine. This would keep the things more or less intact. More important thing is to know where the car was stored. In case if it's under direct sunlight, pay more attention to rubber parts. They should not feel like hard or brittle. Same would be the case if parking was on soil/moist area. Chances of corrosion would be high. In other case where storage area was under shade and concrete surface, these should be fine for mentioned duration. Mine is November's.

Coming to your second question, i think it's subjective. Even-though my first choice was Orange, I booked wine-red. My thoughts: (1) I may not have similar liking in the long run for something which looks catchy now. Generic colors have better chances here and (2) I think generic color will have better value or at-least more buyers to discuss with in case of resale. But to reiterate, these are mine perspective and can be subjective. Best of luck with your hunt [thumbsup]

Guys, Recently My codriver side Tyre has developed an air leak through the wheel rim.
when it happened for the first time the repairing guys said it may have happened due to running with a punctured wheel. But couldnt spot a puncture in the tyre.
Today morning it happened for the second time: had no air so took it to repai shop and same problem. This guy also told the sam reason.

Any Idea why this would happen?

My car was mid jan 2015 production & booked it in 1st week of feb 2015. Got delivery in last week of Feb itself with permanent registration number. Bought wine red one. Really loved the color.

@Parth:
Get the tyre removed from the wheel (completely remove), ask the puncture guy to thoroughly sand the wheel rim walls where the tyre rests.
Once rubbed, get it thoroughly cleaned and get the wheel rim also rubbed with a cloth but with a tight hand. Then install the tyre again, first over inflate by at least 5 psi (use 38-40) and check for air leaks at tyre-rim contact area. Then get the pressure right and check again for leakages. If the leakage is found then you need to check what's wrong and if not found then happily return home as the issue will be gone.

@ TSIVipul,Thanks! that is what the puncture Guy did.
And its running fine for 4-5 days now. Just concerned if this will reappear specially when I am on a long run. Should I use the spare tyre and keep this as spare?

Sirji I faced exactly same issue in my Corolla and the puncture repair guy finally declared the rim design gone kaput. I was puzzled listening to his conclusion and then the guy suggested me to leave the rim with him for 1 day so that he can get it repaired charging me 400 bucks.

Got back home when my partner suggested me an another puncture repair guy who is experienced and reputed to be honest. I visited this second guy and he did this process charging me 200 bucks for all four tires (one had issue and three I got cleaned as a preventive maintenance).

The guy gave me a reason stating "Saarji when the car hits potholes etc then at times some dust etc gets accumulated in the space and weakens the sealing resulting in minor air leakages". Although I am not sure of his reasoning but this is also a possibility.

BUT the same tire became prone to developing the same issue time to time (say once in 3 months or 10k kms) and finally the issue got resolved only after I changed the tire.

Now I have a sparewheel unused for 28K Kms. Should I use it as a regular wheel by rotating the tyres or keep it as a spare wheel to use with the next set of tyres?

keep it as it is. buy 3 more tyres when you feel the need to replace the tyres.. keep the best one from the current 4 and use it as a spare.

Yesterday while driving my GRANDS CRANKSHAFT PULLEY SUDDENLY FELL OFF[cry].
I herd metal should from the engine bay and then somethink falling on the ground. Parked the car aside and walked on the road to see that it was a pulley. After opening the hood i noticed its a crankshaft pully.
Called the Hyundai huys and they toed the car to their workshop.
In the workshop inspected the car so no signs of anything hitting from teh bottom or any other part damaged. They are saying that the pully bolt has broken.
A similar issue was faced bay a fellow GRAND owner who reported in the forum

Did you find the root cause? Let us know your experiences post this incident - warranty coverage, repair time, any hidden costs. These are indeed unexpected incidents and it seems it can happen to other Grand i10 owners anytime?[thinking]

I have not opted for extended warrenty so did not discuss abouth the warrenty.
However the car was done in a day.
They removed the broken bolt and replaced with new bolt. total cost of New bolt + oil seal+Labour is around 850Rs.
I had also the 30K paid service done with the same and asked to check eact and every bolt.
They told me some engine bolts were slightly lose, So I guess that might be the reason for this failure. However the service center guys are firm about that something might have hit the pully and thats why it was broken.

But compared to our fellow TAIan who faced similar issue his dealer caused him so much pain, removeing entire engine etc. In my case they had no need to remove the engine.
They did not charge me anything extra (even toeing) and did everything I asked for.
