Recently i made to trip to Bangalore and returned back yesterday, total distance 666km, fuel consumption 37 liters, mileage 18kmpl. we were 3 adults and 2 children's with boot full of luggage.
Hey Indian Rambo,
Great mileage achievement.
Can you share what was the average speed with which you drove?
Was the trip carried out with 100% A.C. on?
Thanks

I already started trusting their petrol engine! Recently with 5 adults + 3 kids and boot full of luggage, I managed to get 17.xx as mileage. What else I can ask for? With the same set of passengers and load with SX4 ZDi, I managed to get 19.xx!!!! On both occasions, the speeds were maintained at 80-90 range with 90% A/C on.

This speaks of their effort. Well done Hyundai!

@Car's Paradise average speed is 80-100, with 100% ac on. but in city it gives me 11-12.5kmpl[surprise]
@furious_driver yes its petrol
My car gives average of 12kmpl in city (delhi) with 20% a.c. usage. Earlier it gave me 10kmpl with almost 100% a.c but lately ive changed by driving style by having a light foot on the gas and early upshifts. On the highway it gives between 16-17 kmpl but Im mostly at speeds above 100km/hr.

Hi folks,

My car has munched 26k kms and now gives me 14 to 15km/l with single occupancy with 70 to 80% ac in delhi-noida. Most of my drive is in 4th/5th gear. It used to return 15km/l without AC in Delhi-Noida during winters with occupancy at 3. I drive with a light foot.

Came to know from an ex office colleague, cannot trust the authenticity of his word by 100%, but he claimed that K 1.2 engine used in Grand i10 MY 15 and also the Elite i20, which is recently launched, has ECM tuned up to deliver 16 Km/Ltr mileage in city conditions. Also the injection is direct into the cumbustion chamber and has been divided into 5 stages and piezo injectors are used to optimize the spray of fuel. Doing so will give better air and fuel mixer and more efficient combustion.

MY grand I10 is March Make , So it this possible that the reason for my sublime average , is due to this tuning from hyundai . [thumbswink]

Hello Jaskgrandi10,
Reading your posts and many other users mileage on the Grand i10, I recollected what my ex colleague narrated me and posted it. Yes it is possible that MY15 Grand i10 mileage is delivering good mileage.

Hi guys, want to confirm if Grand i10 sport variant has fixed headrest on the back seats.. I have put on seat covers for my car & the rear seats don't have any headrest on them now, but I think they were present before putting on the seat covers

Hey Maulik,
As per the company's literature, the Grand i10 has rear seat adjustable heard rest only in Asta variants.
Hope this information is useful to you.

Hello TAI-Gers ,

If You had read my previous posts you would have seen me talking about taking , my tank to a 700km mark , so here i am with a my mission accomplished photo :) .

This time i drove my car 724.1 kms , with a full tank ( autocut ) of 37ltrs , which gave me an average of 19.57 KM/L , now this included almost 550+ kms on highway and rest in city trafiic including delhi's bumper to bumper traffic for some time , with full time A/C , and average speed of 80km/hr.

I Could have never thought of this [clap]Super Excited I am today [clap]

Hello friends,

Today a strange thing happen to my i10(it's a 2009 1.2kappa varient). While driving back home I experienced a fuel leakage in my car, the leak was rather fast. I some how manage to drive my car back home as it was late night and parked the car to observe the same. My observation was whenever I started the engine the fuel leak starts and vice-versa.
Friends can you explain me the possible reasons for it and any necessary solutions are also welcomed!

It can be a minor thing like a hole in a pipe can cause a leakage.

Open the hood of your car and before turning it on check the engine area for any petrol spills. If you can see from where the leakage is , call a mechanic. If you can't see the area just start the car and see from where the petrol is leaking and call a mechanic or take the car.

Just make sure the petrol is not leaking near the injectors and the spark plugs.

Hi Guys,

I have recently booked Grand i10 Asta petrol. Got a good quote, however was bit disappointed with the cost of accessories at the showroom. I want to enquire about good seat covers. Any ideas how much would they cost. I want to opt for Leatherite covers.
