Hi Guys,

I have recently booked Grand i10 Asta petrol. Got a good quote, however was bit disappointed with the cost of accessories at the showroom. I want to enquire about good seat covers. Any ideas how much would they cost. I want to opt for Leatherite covers.

Check online. Faux leather will cost you 4-7k depending on design.
Pure leather will be expensive.

But would suggest go to Delhi and get it done. You will get more variety on cheap rates.

Did you get it done from Hyundai?
Looks awesome!
thanks maulik. I didnt get this done at hyundai. On the contrary I think I have void my warranty(which was expiring anyway in oct) by upgrading to hid kit with projectors combo. The illumination is much better as compared to the stock setup the car came with.

I bought the bi xenon projector lamps and 4300k hid kit for rs6000 from aliexpress. Upgrade Full Metal Premium 2.5'' Pro Leader HID BiXenon Projector Headlight Lens Full Kit With/ Without White Angel Eyes Halo-in Lights & Indicators from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

Got it installed from gem cars(not sure of the name) in Lajpat nagar car market near elegant car shop if you're familiar with the area II got the projectors fixed in the stock headlamps. They charged rs2000 to smoke the headlights and install the projectors and hid kit . The projectors and the hid kit for 6k is a very good deal considering the quality of the same. Buying ready made headlights may not be the best option according to me as the pair would cost no less than 25k and you don't get to pick which projectors you want in them and usually it comes without the hid kit. I planned not to get the complete headlight smoked but leave some chrome parts but didn't work out as after the masking tape that was used to cover the parts that I wanted the chrome to remain, was peeled, it peeled some part of the paint as well. Hence had to smoke the whole headlight. Besides that they were good at other pparts of installation. I would suggest to look some other place if you'd want to have chrome on the headlights as well.
The guys who installed also but the dry tubes and Angel eyes if youd want but I think that's overkill as I already have euro stylei10's fitted. 4300k color as they perform better in dusty and foggy conditions as compared to 6000k white light. The throw is really good has improved visibility to quite an extent at night

Hi guys. I am writing something her after a very long time.

I bought a Grand i10 Ea back in Jan 2014. The car is an absolute darling with its drivability (I upgraded from an Indica DLS). But since I was in a hurry to get the car, I had to make do with the Era and cancel my booking for a Magna. I miss the fog lamps that wud have come factory fitted.

I plan to add following features:
1. Fog lamps.
2. Rear wipers (higher versions get these)
3. Intermittent wiper function (not available on Grand i10)

For the third I am thinking of changing the switch gear with that of the Xcent, which I read, comes with intermittent wiper function. If not, then with that of the i20. Kindly suggest the best possible option for this.

Hi Sankyp

The fog lamps are very doable. One way would be to have some kind of switch fixed in one of the dummy button places on the dash. The other and more complicated one would be to change the entire light stalk to be changed and would require more complicated wiring to be done as well.

The rear wiper. I would say dont bother with it. I can only imagine that you would be spending alot of money to get that done and many parts being changed/added.

Intermittent wiper function. Its doable but i feel it wont be as simple as just changing the wiper stalk from a higher spec grand i10. There may be some changes required in the ecu?

I don't know about ERA but there is an Intermittent Wiper function available with Grand i10. Please check screenshot from owners manual.
You are right intermittent function is available. Very useful feature for light rain.

Driven Grand i10 at and above 120. At 130 also the car felt quite stable. After that can't say. But good stability at 120 is what required.

Hi
my grand i10(ASTA) petrol is 1 year 2 months old. I am from shillong, Meghalaya. you all may know that this is a hilly area. now am facing a problem. I am not sure it is a problem or it is normal.
when I go uphill I can hear cracking noise ( kat-kat-kat-kat-kat.. this type) during pressing the accelerator. at that time vibration is more. this is happening in any gear position. if I use 2nd gear and go fast( 20 kmph) or 3rd gear (20-30 kmph) even in 4th gear also. I realise when the engine feel some pressure that time the noise is coming. plane are I cant hear that noise. in the Hyundai service center they told it is normal for grand. but the noise is increasing day by day. please help me and give some suggesting. thank you very much.

well I'm quite sure its not normal. In-fact far from normal. I've been to Shillong and have driven my father in law's grand i10 and there wasn't any sound as such over any terrian. If the sound is normal (as per the HASS) it could be the engine knocking sound meaning the engine is asking for the car to be shifted to lower gears, but from your post it seems the sound comes while in any gear and this is definitely not normal. Has this sound been there since you bought the car? Do you feel that the pulling power of the car is comparatively less than before or what you'd expect? In any case insist the HASS to take it for a test drive and point them when the problem occurs. Ask them why is the sound normal in grand i10 and not other cars? What's the logic(even though logic is a rare thing to find in our country) behind this explanation.

I agree, it does not seem normal. Btw please check if there is any kind of leakage in the engine area , just open the bonnet and check very carefully. See from below if possible.

Also just check the level of engine oil and you can also consult a local mechanic. Just ask his views and don't let him open anything for now.
