Hi
when I go uphill I can hear cracking noise ( kat-kat-kat-kat-kat.. this type) during pressing the accelerator. in the Hyundai service center they told it is normal for grand. but the noise is increasing day by day. please help me and give some suggesting. thank you very much.
That service center guy is lying through his teeth. I have never heard any knocking noise during umpteen trips to Tirupati and Palani

Hey TAI-gers ,

I was planning some mods on my car from a few days , but wanted to be precise and sure about what all places could i apply those mods to , for making my car unique . I am pretty much satisfied with what i have got here .

Now basically what I have done is a modified version for scuff plate , and door guard . I did not particularly wanted something like an Ipop , Just bulging out of my door or for that matter a led door plate so when I open my door i get sparkled by the light and also wanted to avoid electrical connections , so i found a alternative to it both my solutions .

The Second Pic - Its just the love for the country . [thumbswink] and I found out no better place to make this love a bold statement for everyone :)

So here are the pics of the same .

So just like you-tuber's do , if you like my post , do [thumbsup] .[:D]

And Yes , why i got captain america shield done on my scuff plate and door guard , just for the simple reason that i love his shield , the way it shows the solidity , make me feel strong :D

Update:- Drove my Grand i10 1.2 on Petrol instead of CNG, just to have a feel of it.
Mileage through manual tankful method:- 13.9 Km/Ltr with 40% AC on and purely in city commute.
Mileage through ELM 327 on torque is 14.5 Km/Ltr, with MPG trim set to 1.1.
Drove my car with very light foot and with maximum throttle value to 20%(shown on Torque).

Hi Guys

I would like to lower the stance of my car so as to increase its visual appeal by reducing the wheel well gap. This would obviously decrease the ground clearance and Im willing to do that trade off, however I have some questions:

Firstly, is it possible to lower the stance of the car with the existing suspension? If yes, does the probability of the wheels hitting the wheel well while going over potholes increase and by how much?

If it cant be done with the existing suspension (coil springs and dampers) where can I buy a new set and for how much?

I think for the wheel to not hit the wheel well over potholes, a stiffer suspension setup may be required. Does this mean that only change of springs would be enough to attain a stiffer suspension or do the dampers also need to be changed? I understand that the ride will be stiffer but I think hyundai still has the suspension setup more softer than my taste. I know of bilstien suspension kits however they are expensive and havent come across a kit for grand i10 on their india website. I would be a happy man if the stance of my car can be lowered and stiffened a bit (so as to avoid wheels rubbing against the wheel well) with just changing of the springs as they are much cheaper than changing the whole suspension setup (coil and dampers).

I just replaced the tyres on my Grand i10 to 175/65/R14. Good year. Replaced it immediately after the taking delivery of the car. I had to pay 4k for the upgrade (all 5 tyres).
Improved ride height by ~5mm. Not sure about the impact on milage.
Also - I was given to understand that one could also pop in 175/60 tyres which tends to lower the stance. Not sure if that suggested.

I'm driving the Asta Automatic variant.

Guys I have driven about 26800 kms thus far and over the past couple of months I have been noticing this mild 'krr.krrr.krrr.krrr' noise from the engine bay/underneath the deashboard whenever the car reaches speeds of 80 km/hr and above. I haven't taken him to the service center since i reach this speed only twice in a day for about 4/5 kms. There is no noise below that speed. Can anyone throw some light on this?

Hi All,

Anybody tried a small paint job on Grand i10. I jut tried this one on photoshop. Just wanted to know everyone's opinion. What say?
The paint job/vinyl job will look amazing in your colour. Go for it![clap]

Hi Guys,

I am getting the milage of 9-10 in city traffic and 14-15 in highways. Mine is petrol and more than a year now.
Last weekend, I had driven my Xcent in some dense traffic! Yet the mileage hovered around 11! In mild traffic, I get around 13. So I wonder, why Grand owners always complain about low FE!!

That is low for this car. My petrol verna gives me the same mileage.

You should get the car checked. Get injectors and throttle body cleaned. Don't press the accelrator hard and shift at 1900 RPM.

Hi Guys,

I used to get 10 kmpl in city and 16-17 kmpl on highways. I started using a light foot on the A pedal and now get around 11kmpl which is still low considering its a grand i10 and not a 1.5/1.6 NA engine. I also check the air pressure regularly as it can also effect the mileage quite a bit.
