My grand i10 completed 6000KM and I am encountering an engine stall issue in first gear [confused]. This happens on inclines, one in every week or so. I got this vehicle 5 months back before that I was driving Alto Lxi and my driving style is adapted to that. In Grand i10 initial torque is more than Alto hence I use less throttle input. Probably this could be the reason for engine stall but just want to make sure
We are same! I used to drive Alto before my Xcent, and initial couple of weeks I had the same issue. But then I get hold of it, and now it is fine. Just don't leave the clutch yet and make sure you give gentle throttle input!

Hello,

I bought a grand i 10 asta option last week. So far it has clocked around 200 kms. I am facing one issue. Can you guys please guide me ? ( i am a newbie driver and i am not resting my foot on clutch at all. Totally avoiding it during drives)

1. When engine is cool, clutch is super smooth, but when engine gets little hotter (around half mark in the gauge) the clutch somewhat becomes harder to press down. [surprise]
and it stays like that until again engine cools down. The same thing repeats.
is this normal ? should i get it checked at HASS ?

2. The anti theft alarm system is totally absent. Is it removed in the latest manufactured grand i10s ? (mine is a april 2K15)

Thanks,

You should get it checked. You can try out other Grand i10, if you can.

How did you check this?
Lock your vehicle with smart key and then unlock the door with manual key.As soon as the door opens the car should start honking. Thats all GRAND has as the antitheft alarm.
If it doesnt honk once try keeping the smart key far away from the car.

Thanks parth1231 for reply. [:)]

I did check exactly like this. The key fob was far away from car as well. Still no alarm. Hence i am thinking some other solution. Got to know that Hyundai itself has a security system, to install which they wont tamper any wires and it is plug and play. (this one is by crosslink affiliated with hyundai). i have to check this out. Else advaith is suggestiing autocop as another option.

thanks

I bought the new Grand i10 asta (petrol) on 21st April. After 800km the clutch was giving problem. It use to make a tak sound when fully engaged and it also had a lot of play which made the driving experience horrible. Went to the ASC and got it fixed the other day. For now its pleasure to drive and had clocked 1150 km. [clap]

Good to know that it is solved without any major drama!

Can you tell me what was the exact problem, and how they fixed it, which part they replaced(if any)! Was it all done under warranty?

First of all I wrote a nice email and made a complaint. They themselves took the vehicle by arranging a pick up. The exact problem was vertical as well as horizontal play while engaging the clutch. It also made some kat/tak noise. Nothing was replaced and I think it was the a matter of setting it right. It took almost 24 hrs took fix it and get me satisfied. They did not charge me anything , nobody uttered a word about warranty.

Ok, this might be a stupid question :stupid:

How do you keep the display on showing just the clock and date, like the image below? I have the Sports variant. At certain times while driving, I don't want to listen to music, but at the same time want this clock display only. I am sure there is a mode for this but was unable to find. Is this mode available only in Asta (with Bluetooth/Phone options)? I don't think so as I have seen other Sports variants of Grand i10 displaying only the clock.

Press the power button knob, which you used to adjust volume! That's it.

Click on the "Disp" button on the top left corner next to cd slot.
