Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

I had my Grand i10's second service done this week, at 9500 kms and just about 12 months. This is what HASS did. They found out a problem in my horn (which I never faced) and did a clock spring change without any cost (due to warranty coverage). Any idea why this was required? The horn now seems to sound muffled. HASS said this is normal!

I am driving the car after the second service for 2 days now. No major changes observed as of now. The clutch response and overall driving definitely is smoother, but that's about it.

Total bill was 1400/-

Can anyone share their experiences/expenses on their second service?
I got 2nd Servicing done on my Grand serviced in February. Felt a huge difference in overall performance, pickup seemed improved, AC cooling seems better too.
Even the Engine felt refined even quieter than before, breaks, clutch adjusted perfectly.
I however have an issue with gear shifting from 1st to 2nd, frequently not always but the shift does not seem smooth, a slight crunch is observed.. No issues with 3rd to 2nd.
This was corrected twice before, took it to the service center they did some adjustment which took 15 mins and the problem was gone for a few months.
Does any one else have the same issue?

I too have the same problem but when shifting from 2 to 3 and also occasionally from 5 to 4. Rest of all the upshift and downshift are very smooth. Also sometimes the reverse gear shift is very hard to engage.

Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

Hi Guys,

I am writing here after ages, have been really busy lately. I have completed 19,500 kms. 2 services have been done, on my way to 20,000 kms and the third service. I am planning a road trip with my family to Nainital and that comes to about 300 odd kms from Noida.

Do you recommend that I should get my third service done at this point itself before going on this long drive in the hills?

Is there any news regarding the launch of Grand i10 facelift??
I have read somewhere that it will be launched in India by the end of this year. It will have added features like Automatic Climate control, rear view camera, etc.
Can you please confirm??

Not heard of any such news, atleast as far as the various Auto sites i frequent are concerned. But thing about reverse camera, you can get it fitted at the dealer even now at about 9K. Must be cheaper outside.

Considering the fact that 3rd service is due at 20000 kms. Few things come into picture here
  • when was the second service done
  • How does the car feel? if you feel it has roughened up a bit and bite in the braking is dull or something.
  • follow your instinct, a 100 kms here and there should not cause much of a problem.
  • Do check your oil levels before you set out

Hey Guys,
Can anyone amongst the Grand i10 owners comment on the A/C performance of the car. I have read some owners complaining that the AC of the car is below average. Any inputs?

Grand i10's a.c. is decent. Its not a chiller nor below average where you need to have the fan speed at 3 or 4 to cool the cabin and still it's not cooling. The rear a.c vents do help keeping the rear seats cooled. However, its not like a vw a.c that even on fan speed one cools the cabin real quick. I'm from delhi and the a.c. is decent for Delhi summers. Having an expectation from the a.c to cool the cabin in a couple of minutes when the car's being standing in the sun for even 15-20 minutes is quite unrealistic. Rooling down the windows for a couple of minutes before turning on the a.c. is the way to go. Maybe its off topic but one of the features I like in polo is you can roll down the windows with the remote and this is going to be so useful for delhi summer. Roll down the windows for a couple of minutes before getting it..That's what's practical features, not push start button.

^^ AFAIK you can go visit Hyundai dealer to get the details. Else visit nearest tyre shop and enquire about this. It is not that hard to get Alloy Wheels these days. I see that you are also in Coimbatore. In that case, have you tried searching in VOC Park area? And near Cross Cut road also you can easily find a lot of car tyre shops.

Good. Of all my family vehicles, we go to VOC Park for accessories fitment. Be it HU or tyres or whatever. You will get a good deal, since there are too many options out in the same area, and you can haggle a bit.

Hi All

I have a question.

Is the air filter for grand i10 petrol same as the old i10 1.2 ? This is because I want to get a k&n air filter for my grand i10 but the market doesnt seem to have one for grand i10 and i was wondering if the air filter is the same for the old i10, I could use the one available for the old i10.

If I think logically, yes. You can use the 1.2L Kappa Air-Filter of old i10 in Grand i10. Better you consult with local mechanic before buying one!

Check the part number from manual/website and compare it.
