Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna VTVT SX (O) 2 Years and 30,000 Kms

Hi nickandre,
Sorry after a long time.

Bought new alloys 3 days back
MSW 23 OZ Racing. 15 inch on stock tyres
Wanted to buy 16 inch but didnt have money to buy both alloys n tyres in one time which would have cost me around 70k.
Btw how does it look?

Paid total 44k for 4 alloys n nuts etc.

Sorry to post here.
Hope you dont mind

These cars just won't move an inch if hand break is on unlike old cars.
Two-three clicks is just too less of a pressure, I always take it to almost top position + 1st
gear/reverse depending on conditions.
Don't worry nothing is damaged as it is small distance but don't make it a habit otherwise you will have to pay the ultimate price for it.
Sudee has rightly said it, make it a habit. After you start the car give it 5 seconds and check everything.

Those wheels are looking cool neil.

@Soumen : you need to practise some basic step before you start heading your car. Simple rule is start your engine and look for the dash to get any warnings if nothing then drive else resolve. Driving on handbrake weakens your clutch, disc brake pads and for pickup you rev it up which is not good for engine . Basically you are putting all main parts of your car at risk. Spending 4-5sec before moving saves a bomb on your pocket. CAUTION !!!
Yea thanks for your advice, I’ve been trying to do that. But I’m not habituated with this. I will try my best as of now and hopefully I will be habituated.

Basically I had this same issue with our previous car when I’ve started driving for 1st time, I always forgets hand breaks and cant stop it anyhow. So later I stop using the use of hand break and always park and leave the car on 1st gear. But this time I thought if it put pressure on the gear when parking in slope, so started using the hand break.

I like the alloys, I like alloys like this with the break caliper red color on any eye catching color. That’s looks cool. But the 44k cost looks much for alloys.

I was thinking to replace the extra tire rim with the stock new alloy style. Any one have knowledge is that OEM available and how much that costs?

@soumen .. I would still prefer u to use both gear and handbrake while parking as it gives extra safety by locking all 4 tyres. If u r concerned on downhill parking then u can leave the tyres halfway turnes to either side to avoid roolovers ... Locking all 4 wheels wll even help u on tow aways .. Drive safe

No downhill here, putting in gears is fine for parking, but still its better to use HB for parking if gear not engaged somehow it and roll due to unnoticeable slight slope.

@nickandre

Car is doing fine.
Had 30000 km service 1 month back. Cost 12k. Getting economy 14 km/l.

Had been to pune recently by road.
Journey was comfortable and never felt tired. At 190 km/h car didnt feel like floating.

I have put P8 55w 4300k HID too. Hid is great but giving lot more other troubles. No other upgrades.

If thats the average mileage then its pretty good. By the way, your car looks really good with those alloys.

190 !!! Good going. If the floating is absent at those speeds then I guess Hyundai has done a pretty good job.

What troubles is the HID giving ? WHy 4300k and not 6000k ?

4300k is most yellowish light available in HID.it is indeed near to white only. 6000k is totally white with bluish tint.
During fog and rain white light doesnt work. Yellow lights are better for that.

Troubles
Rat ate one of the ballast wire within few days of installation.
To install HID we have to cut a plastic cap to give way to the wires. Now the bulb is big and when we lock the cap it presses the bulb due to which bulb was getting stuck on either high beam or low beam. So i had to cut more portion of the cap to prevent it which in turn gives way to dust to go inside.
I have set focus of high beam to fall correctly to the point i wanted for both the bulbs, now i put low beam , right side is focused at some point nearer and left side is focused at far away. If i try to correct them high beam gets derranged. I dont know it is HID fault or hyundai's projectors fault.

Thanks for that tip. I have the 6000k on both my car and bike, and the driving is quite uncomfortable during the rain.
Any idea what is the luminance of the lamps in the Altis, Superb, Laura? Not sure but they seem to have HIDs.

HIDs are made to be generic, so they fit into most vehicles. I guess Hyundai didnt plan on such customizations.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna VTVT SX (O) 2 Years and 30,000 Kms

Hi Nickandre,

We purchased verna recently around 2 and half months back, its run about 3000km. I gave for the service a month after purchasing the vehicle since it was 1500km crossed. They didn't change the engine oil that time. Now since its run about 3000 kms is it required to change the oil..? If so pls do suggest one.

Thanks in Advance.
