Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna VTVT SX (O) 2 Years and 30,000 Kms

Troubles
Rat ate one of the ballast wire within few days of installation.
To install HID we have to cut a plastic cap to give way to the wires..
Thats what holding me back from putting HIDs.Does this hole in the cap result in fog/water in headlights during rains? Also,it would be great if you can tell us the cost of HIDs.
BTw,i finally have time to put some new rubber on my ride. Can you guys suggest something with good grip along with low noise? I am looking at 205/55 r16.Don't want 50 profile as it would lower gc.A michelin guy is telling 9.7k for primacy lc.I think it is on the higher side. What do you guys suggest?

Hi Rajchande, welcome to TAI.

Congrats on your wonderful purchase. Good idea of taking a lower version and upgrading it with after market accessories of your own choice.
For HID projectors setup, check this post for a rough idea: http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...oral-white-ownership-review-7.html#post354193

For alloys, check out HRS, Plati, lenso..

@rajchande Oz's are a bit on the costly side bro and be careful there are many fake brands which look exactly similar to the original ones. If you budget is on the lower side try plati, lenso, HRS.

I have P8 55w 4300k HIDs. cost 10k. Not at all happy with product and service. Better go for philips or VisionX. In phillips you wont get 55w but only 35w available though it's better then buying P8.
Got fitted philips 35w 6000k in my Dad's honda city and it's working without any problem.
Maruti , honda and some other cars have rubber cap , so no cutting no complications. but for this you haveto cut and there are chances of water/dust to go inside if not properly sealed. you can use m-seal to cover it up.

you can go for 205/55/r16 but make sure it doesnt touch the body. maximum 3% deviation from the stock tyres can be put.
i dont have much knowledge about tires but look for yokohama v550. that is what i am planning to cover over my alloys.

I have heard that VisionX brand has bi-xenon type HID that has two different filaments for hi and low I guess if i am not wrong.

OZ alloys are very good , good designs and looks premium , very light weight. As i see , you car is silver , OZ has MSW series which has silver/gunmetal finish alloys , that would look great on your car. HRS is good brand if you want to go cheaper. dont go for plati , evo etc they suits for maruti , indica..
I have recently purchased OZ racing MSW23 alloy , 15 inch . which cost me 44k. but worth the money. I posted pics 2 pages back.
quick link for you

The site-
http://www.ozracing.com/car_wheels_brands/MSW.aspx
I liked MSW26 and MSW crossover more then this but those starts from 16 inches and didnt have that beautiful budget , so had to give it up.
but MSW20/4 is good design comes in 15 inches. might be litter costlier than mine.

For HRS alloys you will find the designs on
www.saimagwheel.com

my opinion -
http://www.alloywheelsindia.com/product1/search/504/6/15/75/40/h_534.htm - i have seen this alloy. quoted me 26k for set of 4
or http://www.alloywheelsindia.com/product1/search/121/7/15/21/40/h_286.htm

Thank you
Dr Neil

happy new year folks.
Been sometime for me.
Well my car needs to go in for its 5th service(2nd paid service)
Oil change etc get my brakes checked, reverse gear makes a growling noise as I accelerate, mostly gives a grinding noise when i slot in. The fe indicator keeps restarting every time i start the car but the rest like average speed and trip meters and distance to empty are intact. Face some hesitation while accelerating noticed this over 3 tank fulls from different petrol pumps.
Biker hit the side of my bumper at the signal breaking one of the clips wonder how to fix that now.

I feel sorry to see this. But the quotation the SA gave is way too much. Take a hairdrier blow hot air for sometime (not very long) 30sec max at one place and keep circulate let the area worm, then put your hand from beneath and push it outward, it should pop out. If you can do it properly it should be 99.99% fixed. About the paint, get some touch up.

this does not seems too big to replace the whole bumper, i have had 2-3 such damages from bikers who hit the back bumper, with no fault of mine, but in city traffic we have to live with this. i think that fiber dent can be easily rectified at outside vendor and not HASS.

so got my car to the service centre along with the oil cans and engine flush

IMG_20140105_184957.jpg

reached early when the service bays were empty and the car was soon taken to get its oil changed and brakes checked as routine, got the car on the ramp and noticed a nasty oil leak, from the drive shaft joint on the gear box[cry]

IMG-20140106-WA0007.jpg

So that explained the gear noises there was not much oil in the gear box, the shaft anyways would be replaced in warranty in few minutes but my only worry was any damage to the gear box. Luckily none the noise has gone and the service center told me to keep it under observation. My next issue the ac was also sorted out there was about 100grams of refrigerant (gas) less got that topped up and cooling is supremely good again, next service i will get all coils cleaned.
Total cost for my 40k service inclusive of oil 7600 (3400 for service only)
