Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna VTVT SX (O) 2 Years and 30,000 Kms

I'm Surprised
My verna still runs on the stock tires and crossed 33K Kms still there decent amount of thread left.
Never had issue with any of the tyre still I will double check all the tyres tomorrow and see.

@silverjet : OMG thats a bad blast u had. The tyre is out all 360deg on side wall. This basically looks like happened frm some kind of prick on the road . The reason being that side walls are the most weak point in a tyre . If the tyre is over inflated and as u drive the psi increases making it more exposed . Drive safe

@soumen-The tire may have run 20k km as it's changed during tire rotation. The bubble issue, I think, had affected mostly early models (maybe 2012 ones). Due to this, there used to be a small bludge on the sidewall. I think this was with Bridgestone b250 tires. Newer cars come with 'my-02' or something like that. I too though that Bridgestone was a good brand and their tire lasted for 75k kms on my Santro. Don't know what happened with the tires in verna.
First of all thank god your father is safe and he had good skills that he control the car at that speed.

I don’t when what is the optimum time for a tire to get old but in our previous car few month back I changed all tires those are stock fitted JK tires and change those at 24-25k km. All four tires were in poor conditions few almost lost the gripe and in few wire strip came out. Throughout the time the car was handled and driven properly and 80% time driven by myself.

For the bubble issue its like a leak where the rim and the tire meets by refitting the tire this issue solves 90% time. And AFAIK it can happen with any tubeless tires. Also by looking at your tire its looks like poor sidewalls, it didn’t happened due to rim edge leak or bubble issue.

In my bike it has TL tires and the rear one has the same sidewall leakage at many spots and this issue started 3 years ago and it remain same till today as I don’t have time to fix it or may be due to my ignorance. The thing is its recommendation is 28PSI and few time I did long rides even with 40psi air filled, as I have to fill the air once in a 2 weeks so I fill some extra. But no issues till day.

You change tires at 25k?[shock]. My Santro tires once lasted 75/80k kms. But again, this is with very smooth driving.

Himalayan's verna's mrf were worn out at 15k. That's too low. I santro comes with Bridgestone. I changed just 4 tyres at 80 [:D] the spare was never used.

Damn 15k is way too low unless they are soft compound or one often does burnouts and stuff or drives on Leh road ehh[drive].
JK on my swift are still in great shape[Faced 1 puncture till date],same with the appollo on i20 [Though one tire is as good as scrap due to many punctures], bridgestone really worries me on the new verna. Will make a habit of keeping an eye on bridgestone tires from now on.
Btw how do we check the manufacturing date of tires? I am having difficulty locating anything on tire.[frustration]

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna VTVT SX (O) 2 Years and 30,000 Kms

ATTENTION to all verna owners:
I had my verna on stock bridgestone tire's.There has been problems of bubbles on many verna's.I too had the problem,so i changed the tire with bubbles with spare tire.
Yesterday i had a tire blowout,in which the whole tire became unusable. It was dad driving with 20 years of experience of driving cars and he somehow managed to control the car. This happened at speeds of 80-90.There was no damage to alloy wheel. Now i am forced to use this tires and we are not willing to drive above 60.Thinking of changing all 4 tires.Just to make people aware, those with these bridgestone tires should seriously thing before driving at high speeds. These tires are total crap (so is the company) and i would not buy anything from bridgestone in future, even if its free.Just for some extra $$ they risk the lives of their customer's. Also, hyundai may have done some real cost cutting by buying this crap from bridgestone for cheap.
Attaching few pics.Sorry for the quality of the images. Notice the thread remaining in the last pic.
Oh My God:eek: this is truly horrible. I can't even digest how it's fully blown out. [frustration]

One common question:
If the hand break is turned on and if you run the car little maybe 200meter then will it damage anything? I usually forgets hand break but now always checking before run but last day park beside road then again need to move a good location for parking, forgot and move the car. Will this damage anything or put extreme pressure in engine?

Next is when I leave my car in my garage I always put the hand break on, I know its all hydraulic breaks but like the wire type break, constant leaving the car in break will it loosen the break strength?

I didn’t get time to find that but anyone know the paddle break apply breaks in all four wheel or only the front two wheels, like few front disc break car? And the hand break works for all four wheels or only the rear two wheels?

In your case there won't be any damage to the brakes But prolonged driving with handbrakes on will damage the brakes.no, constantly leaving the brakes on when Parked in the garage doesn't reduce the strength of the system. I guess the hand brake is for the rear wheels .

I think driving with handbrake engaged will damage the clutch plate. Service adviser told me this when I asked if clutch has warranty or not.

Yes it does. But mine was just two or three click slightly up (the hand break). In mine car I found if you do one or two click or steps hand brake up (clicks mean the sound when pulling the hand break, tik tik sound) its not effective or not so effective. As once in my garage it was in little hand brake applied but still I could push and move the car front or back.

Also if the hand break fully on I can realize by the engine feedback. But dam the engine power, its hardly noticeable.

I think it should have a warning tone like the seatbelt for the hand break active. However the console displays but that always don’t help, as I never check that.

Also a good thing I found, is the engine on and if you still turn the key to start the engine nothing happens.

@Soumen : you need to practise some basic step before you start heading your car. Simple rule is start your engine and look for the dash to get any warnings if nothing then drive else resolve. Driving on handbrake weakens your clutch, disc brake pads and for pickup you rev it up which is not good for engine . Basically you are putting all main parts of your car at risk. Spending 4-5sec before moving saves a bomb on your pocket. CAUTION !!!
