Attention Verna owners
For those who have never bothered to open up the air filter assembly and see the condition of your air-filter do it soon and look for any signs of oil in it

I noticed oil n my intake so took the car to ASC and they said its turbo oil seals leaking They have take photographs and warranty has been approved
The entire turbocharger will be replaced [:D]

I have fitted philips 90/100 W bulbs along with separate cutout from philips to support these bulbs. now there is much improvement in both high and low beams.

earlier light from fog lamps used to be brighter than the main head lights, now head light's light is brighter than fog lamps.

Petrol owners, I feel the car glitch when I switch between 1-2 gears at low speeds. Is it any sort of problem or a normal one . Suggestions welcome .

Yes, there is slight glitch or loss of power between 1st and2nd gear at slow speeds. I am not sure if it is a problem or feature :) since it exists since day one.

Guys - Need some advise on insurance. My insurance is due for renewal next year Feb. Getting calls for Tata AIG, offering premium if Rs 22,000/- Zero % Dep. This includes 20% NCB, 40% discount and 10% commision wave off. First year insurance was for 30K. Does this sounds good? Have never dealt with Tata AIG before also. Please suggest. Thanks.

It's irritating for sure :@ it doesn't happen in my i10 and santro. Even if you rev hard you'll feel the jerk.

Its been over a month I’m driving this car, it’s a very less time though but since the start I’ve been observing the gear and very careful with it while driving. But so far its all smooth, no unusual jerk. While shifting up it goes smooth for all gears but when shifting down if it is during improper speed and with improper power only then it jerks otherwise its smooth. Regarding the jerk I don’t think it’s a technical issue, its due to change gear at improper power.

hard gear shift once the car get heated up could be an issue with the gearbox or gearoil.

@ Nick and other SX(O) owner, the reason of short battery life is because of keyless entry as receiver needs to be activated all the time. Otherwise a new battery should go well at least 3 years. So whenever if you store the car for long may be over a week, disconnect the battery.

@Sam It occurs whenever I find lazy to shift gears in turning otherwise I dont experience it and in traffics it annoys me a lot . Anyways this being my laziness I don't want to blame it on the car [:P] .
Guys, anyone with the idea of painting the stock alloys( 8-spokes ) and anyone who has a fair knowledge on plastidip. I'm planning to plastidip my alloys Matt black .

I do shift up at 2k or 2+k RPM with full clutch press and full accelerator release and it goes very smooth. As you faced this during a turnings so definitely its couldn’t get the require speed and more power require during a turn as it’s a front wheel drive.

I doubt the smart key system would take up enough of charge to drain the battery in 2 years time. I bet any car manufacturer would've taken that into consideration. Another guy out here Gears1313 has a sx his battery conked of before 2 years were up and he does not have the smart key system.[lol]

Yes if its keep running 24x7 and on the other hand the battery get charges less than its started spoiling the battery life, More use of battery more shorten life span, just like mobiles. I don’t know actually in depth but its sound like it does.

Maximum Grand i10 top model or those have keyless entry users are reporting dead battery if the car is idle for a week and when I visited the showroom last week or so I saw a same customer reporting the same and the sales guy was advising to remove a fuse (don’t know which one) if leaving the car idle for a week or more than that and explaining all what I said.

And practically its good for cars to disconnect the battery if you’re letting it idle for long time (not for a week idle though, maybe over a month or so).

I cross checked the 4 paid service bill and to my horror they haven't done the transmission oil change [anger]

Took the car to a knowledgeable mech here and he told me he hard shift that occurs once car get heated up is due to malfunction master cylinder
He himself has changed the M.C for 2 verna's and ask me to get it replaced form ASC as mine was still under warranty

This would be the 2nd time I'm going to change the master cylinder
If this time they are trying to come up with some wired reason I'm surely going to teach these guys a lesson [anger]

Vishak .. I got my MC replaced yesterday, but the hardness is still noticed so they are planning to change the pressure plate under warranty this weekend ... Let see if the hardness is the MC failure or problem with the pressure plate.
