Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

The new headlights are defenitely better for highways, The stock onces are duds- just enough to be used for "candle light dinners"[frustration], (The govt and police feel high wattage headlamps cause problems to oncomers and causes accidents... But I feel if you are unable to see on a highway... its like inviting lord Yama with sweets and aarthi) Either the government needs to install antiglare median nets for 6 feet from road (like china.. Thailiand) or atleast provide good illumination throught the highway.. Like the americas, europe..

As for the fog lamps i am dissapointed though, The stock ones were better because of the color temprature. (Higher the temp ,, bluer the light).. But i dont need them much.
Thank you Ashok for being patient and updating me. [thumbsup]

By the way I liked the text "its like inviting lord Yama with sweets and aarthi" [clap]

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

was checking fluids in the car and noticed the engine oil was a bit below full as i remember when i brought her the oil level was above full, guess it needs topping up
checked the manual and theres a column below the recommended oil and capacities say oil consumption under normal driving max 1l/1500 kms and severe driving max 1l/1000 kms any one feel this specified allowable consumption is rather high?
anyways since i do not know which viscosity is filled in the engine at factory will check with my sa

This one is not a caska, I bought it from a Kia/Hyundai accessory shop in guanzhou china. It has 5.1 pre out unlike caska. It comes with navigation, 6 Virtual compact Disc play, Dvd, Bluetooth, SD card,USB,TPMS(Sensors optional),TV (Antenna optional) and Ipod connectivity. It fits to the OEM wiring perfectly except that you will have to run the pre outs to amps (I have used 1 fourway pioneer and one monobloc for the subwoofer). You can downmix the 5.1 centre channel to the front speakers via the builtin interface. The steering controls is easily programmable. I would rate the sound quality close to 90% good as of other good quality head units.. I have also added two sony headrest monitors.

Hi Ashok,
I also want to upgrade the stock ICE. I came to know that any upgrades in ICE voids the Warranty. Does it happened with you. What was the response at service center.

No manufacturer can void warranty unless you have a canbus enabled ICE system. Canbus is like a central nervous system through which all component communicate. These are mostly found in expensive European cars. So don't worry, you can legally claim warranty after ICE upgrade. Make sure your new system has a patch plug to directly fit into the car wiring for steering controls so that you avoid cutting wires. The oe system has a feed from the ECU for speed based volume control, But most Aftermarket sets do not.

Thanks for your valuable inputs. Its a relief for me[clap]. I have heard that stock HU has two Pre-outs. For this can i simply go for Bass Tube and Component?Coaxial Speakers upgrades. As of now i dont want change stock HU. My budget is around Rs.20000/-. Will you please suggest which brands should i look for considering my budget which further be extended by Rs.5000/- if quality sound is good

you can connect 4 channel amp with stock HU.
There isnt any preout in stock hu. but there are 4 ch in it. you will have to use hi-low converter to convert it into preout. 1 converter cost me 450 rs.

so as we lack preout support here , buy one good 4 ch amp.
2 ch = subwoofer
2 ch = both comps and co-axials.( if it has more then 150 rms per channel) because ususally normal speakers are of nearly 70 rms. so you can connect 2 speakers in 1 ch and so 4 in 2 ch.

amp- jblgto1004 or rockford r600-4d... you can search for kenwood too. 13-16k
sub - basstube jbl -4k-5k (not sure) or rockford/infinity sub with custom made box
comps - infinity ref6030cs / polk db series / hertz esk - 5k-7k
co-axials - you have to buy round speakers to put in doors - go for infinity/polk/hertz ... if you are planning to put it on plank in back to the rear seats there are lot of options for oval speakers. -4k-7k

this is just rough idea i gave. everyone's choices may differ. you may need input from others too.

Neil one thing we need to be carefull while connecting the stock head units to amps is the speed based volume gain feature, so make sure you do not adjust the amp gains to the max.

Hey Nick:- From where you have installed the amps and the speakers. It will be helpful for me if give me the address of the installer. You have also replaced the stock bulbs with Philips one. My question is did u replace the bulbs only or relays are also replaced.

The speed based volume control increases the volume of the head unit as speed increases and reduces when speed comes down. It is supposed to compensate for high tire noise at high speeds supposedly!

I too have switched on this speed based volume control feature in my verna. Really it is very useful whether you are driving on highway or in city. It automatically increases and decreases the volume by sensing the speed of the vehicle. So that one can concentrate on driving.

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

Tomorrow is my first service clocking 2300 Kms on ODO. There is thud like noise from front suspensions whenever the vehicle hit the deep pathole at speed above 55kmph which i have to rectify in my first service.

Guys anyone of you have experienced this kind of sound from front suspension. Might too soft suspension be the reason behind this. Hope service center could resolve my problem.

ya we have that problem. got it done few days back at service center. nick knows in detail what they do.. ... some lubrication and torque adjustment. but it do not solve the problem 100%

How much air pressure do you guys keep in your tires?
i was keeping 34 in all tires , today that tire guy did 35 in front and 40 in rear tires. is it excessive?
