Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

I shopped at DSC hyundai . CIT Nagar. Delivery was within 7 days as mine was the 3rd booking. Nothing can be done to the soft suspension until Hyundai comes out with a solution. I deal with hyundai directly in business and i got this answer right from the R&D team. They are working on it. The door locks are programmed to lock between 15 to 18 Kmph. It is done via the ECU, It cannot be easily modified. Dealer service is good , but for service i prefer HMP.
Thank you Ashok.... I have booked in Express Hyundai, Sholinganallur on Aug 18th and still waiting for my car... [frustration] they are convincing that my order will be accepted this month and delivered sometime in this month. Very hard without a car (being adopted to car earlier) and that too Fluidic [cry]

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

Here are a few pictures of my car.
What are the lighting changes you made? I could see you changed the head lamps, fog lamps, added lighting in the hexagon grill & door sill. Can you recommend the place where u get them fixed as well as their cost?

Is this blue based lighting is illegal in chennai?

ICE is way out of my budget [sad]

Cost
Head unit -Unknown brand (Says Kia/Hyundai on box) - 21000
Pioneer 4 way -amplifier -around 9k (not sure --forgot)
Pioneer monobloc mosfet for sub - 14000
1400watt pioneer subwoofer with eclosure - 9000
speakers(component front, 3way rear) - 11000

That's complete music setup. liked it, [thumbsup].. best ICEed fluidic i have seen.

And your Led scuff plate is also different then ours.

I made changes to the lighting system because its really horrible on highways(government norms have compelled all manufacturers to stick to 55/60).

Head lamp - Philips 35/35 Hid Kit with antiglare sleeve (6750 all inclusive)
Fog lamp - Philips 30w Hid kit without antiglare sleeve (6000 all inclusive)
6watt LED lights on the grill used as Daylight running lights (3000 including engine singnal circuit- This switched on the lights when engine is on, switches off with head lights on)
Led Door Scuff -from Bangkok - Made for Verna RB model -- 1250 (set of four)

100/90 bulbs are illegal, Blue colored lights are illegal as well. HID is permitted with anti glare sleeves as they are used as OE in high end vehicles. I.E-- All projector head lights have Hids with a focussing lens in front.

Thank you Ashok!!! [:)]

Can you say which shop you fixed the head lamps?
Also, does head lamps have projectors as well? I saw in some thread that installing HID kit without projectors will scatter the light and it will give difficulties to the opposite vehicle driver. Is the anti-glare sleeve does that job?

I got it fixed in my friends shop - Boom - Ashok Nagar, chennai.
Projectors definitely help in focussing all the light from the hid to the desired spot.
However there are no good projector lens based head light kits for the new verna at this point. I have used 35w kit instead of 55w as it is too glaring to the opposite driver. I keep my head lamp level at position six so that it is not glaring to others. The sleeve reduces glare by 30% and uv rays by about 95%. One has to be carefull in buying HID's, as cheap chinese ones worth 2 or 3k are sold at the same rate of Philips with sleeves.

Yes need to careful in avoiding chinese products.

Sorry for asking too many questions on head lamp [:(]

How much brightness that you can feel when compare to factory fitted halogen?
I am thinking of retaining the fog lamps from the factory fittings. Will it be good to change only Head lamps?

Nickandre,

The 10K service cost me around 2500 aprox, changed oil (whatever provided and specified by hyundai), oil filter. Nothing else was changed. Being a diesel I felt really happy on my purse as the verna was a replacement of my Skoda. Its sure that Skoda is atleast a step better in segment and quality but i never found the service cost justified.

I could feel that the engine became smooth as cream again.(It was a little coarse during the last 1000 Kilometres before service). I didnt have any breakdowns, rattles or manlfuntioning in the car until now. My average is around 10kmpl in city and around 18.5 in the highways(I do not trust the builtin computer)--(The computations are based on 3 tankfuls average, The highway average is based on 4 tankfulls-- a trip to kodaikanal , mudhumalai etc). I have observed that crusing around 120 in the 6th gear gives you the best kmpl. I have touched 160 (just for fun once) but felt nervous to proceed further as the vehicle was bobbing heavily. ( I have to remember my responsibilities towards my family[thinking].

6watt LED lights on the grill used as Daylight running lights (3000 including engine singnal circuit- This switched on the lights when engine is on, switches off with head lights on).. ashok will u please tell me about these lights ,brand ,wire fitting.
The DRL's say "STATON", I am not sure if they are a reputed compnay, But they work fine and "so far so good". They are attached to a engine signal switching circuit. The unit has input for power, engine "ON" singnal wire(they have tapped some wire which feeds the signal once the engine is on" and a headlamp signal wire. It starts working the moment you fire your engine and switches off when headlamp is switched on.

Yes need to careful in avoiding chinese products.

The new headlights are defenitely better for highways, The stock onces are duds- just enough to be used for "candle light dinners"[frustration], (The govt and police feel high wattage headlamps cause problems to oncomers and causes accidents. But I feel if you are unable to see on a highway... its like inviting lord Yama with sweets and aarthi) Either the government needs to install antiglare median nets for 6 feet from road (like china.. Thailiand) or atleast provide good illumination throught the highway. Like the americas, europe.

As for the fog lamps i am dissapointed though, The stock ones were better because of the color temprature. (Higher the temp ,, bluer the light).. But i dont need them much.

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

i find the stock fog lamps good enough but the stock head lights were nasty. i installed 55/60 philips bulbs and they are good although after seeing three verna with hids i am tempted to add them too.
