Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

Do the gear shift when the eco indicator displays and maintain b/w 90 - 100, you will see the mileage above 20 - 25 for sure.
ya i dont know about petrol but for diesel , you get whatever best can be , by what you said. but cant assure above 20. only bensam can get it.[drive]
Currently i am stuck at 14-15 kmpl because .. little rough driving + sometimes going in city traffic and 12 kms daily on highway when i go college.
so when everything mixed up , average fe you can get from this car would be 15 kmpl.

also there is scope for error by the mid. so i think the best way is by calculating tankful method over three tankfuls to get an average fe
either ways 14 kmpl on diesel is alright considering the cost of diesel but still very lower then what company claims. by the way how much does a tankful cost you guys

Don't risk your life man. Machine can get move upto 210 Km/hr. My friend did 210 in fluidic verna and not felt any handling issues. It is perfect. [thumbsup]

210 kmph i would never even stay at 150 for more then a few seconds due to our roads and unknown surprises.

Not 210 in the verna, i feel uneasy at such high speeds for a long time, ill obv just touch that speed n come bak to my normal speed.
I remember when i was omw to Lonavala (a near by hill station) i was driving my accord on 220kmph, and my legs were shivering so from that day i know this is not my game! Max i could be at 220 was for 4-5 secs !

try such things on express highway only. and just for few seconds.
even express highways are not safe... village people climb up and jump on to the road to cross it. in addition some stupid drivers can suddenly change lane without indicator.
this is very common in bangalore. i have not seen more stupid driver then this anywhere ever.
so it's risk to life. and we wont like a verna going into trash.
DRIVE SAFE.

even i started wearing seat belt everytime in this car... never had habit in my honda city before.
My old city has not been sold yet. it's in dad's garage with it's new mate - dad's ANHC [:D]. people are ready to buy it for 350k. i think it's good price for 6 year old car but below 60k kms

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

kpaaz pune expressway is one fo the best and safest in india.
only issues is most drivers just know how to speed their cars and stop, they do not know lane discipline nor emergency braking. when i was in usa they thought us all this and when i drove in india first time i almost peed in my pants and never ever wanted to drive here.
regarding seat belts i always wear it even for a few km drive i find more comfortable wearing one but i do not understand why the seat belt warning just chimes when we start the car and if we remove belts with engine on (driver side only) but never chimes if we drive without wearing it. i seriously wonder if a passenger airbag may deploy even if belts are not worn.

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

been a month since that golden day since i got her home what more should i say every morning used to be a smoke first and then breakfast and now its a glance at her and im all in good moods. wherever i go every one stares at her even white fluidic owners that really makes me grin hard.
being a petrol and seeing others have a diesel makes me jealous at the cost they fill up and at the pulling power a diesel auto over took me in a split second but hey! my baby gives better then other petrol averages when fed quality higher octane fuels and the pulling power pushes you in the seats after 3700rpms in any gear and the engine sounds like it wants to be dominated by your right foot. its all pulling right till 6700 rpms beyond that and the engine sound fierce maybe spit its flywheel at you for over dominating a beauty.

so well now i have driven my friends petrol vento, anhc, and my own aveo(not worth comparing at 1.35lakh km 4 year old car)
must say i love my baby even if it doesnt handle as good as a vento or revs more happily as an anhc would but the comforts and features makes me go gaga over it.
steering is the smoothest and lightest very very much needed in a city

the stock tires which came with her were very silent although it would wheel spin easily if you tried to and with the yokos it just catapults a wheel spin needs more gas before leaving the trigger(clutch)

the ac is almost as efficient as my 2.5tonne mitsubishi split at home chills in minutes even when the outside is 37degrees

nvh is the best here amongst vento and anhc the vento being noisy gears shifts are smooth here in the verna theres no sudden jerks while shifting and my left leg simply loves the clutch in fact more then my right which loves the gas.

seats are comfy and my dad who is large (100kgs) fits perfect no complaints just on long drives you have lower back discomfort and i really wish they had height adjustable co driver seats.

service by hyundai is the best quick and cheap a few weeks back a miserable rat ate a tire speed sensor cable hyundai change it in 25 minutes for 250 rs

over this past month we had long distance drives and the car is so addictive you just feel like cursing bad drivers on the wrong lane and messy roads for foiling your speed. at 120kmph you feel your at 80kmph you never know when you have crossed 130kmph

i really feel this 1.6 vtvt engine has a lot of potentials with some tweaks
hyundai has used 10w40 oil in the engine so i guess changing to 5w20 will bring more improvements in revs and fe and noise although the only way you know the engine is on is after a good drive of say 30kms and ac on the radiator fan noise will let you know that the little beast is burning some fuel cooking bhps for you

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

@nick
nice review.
i agree with everything but ANHC is more comfortable then verna.

For diesel engine ,
the initial acceleration is not so smooth in the first gear. but from 2nd gear onwards it goes very smoothly. In the time period of turbo-lag you will feel like driving a 80 bhp petrol car. but from 1750 rpm it kicks turbo with that beautiful whislte sound like BMW. nt so powerful until 2k rpm.
260 nm really feels after 2k rpm in 2nd gear. if i rev it to 4k rpm in 2nd gear , in few seconds i see my car at 80 kmph.
if you keep reving upto 3.5k in all gears you will be always above 2k rpm when you change next gear and you can imagine without a turbo-lag pure 260 nm torque , how quick it will be.

Unlike nick said , i find in diesel , i need to change gears frequently in city traffic. getting average 15 kmpl mileage in diesel is good for me. Maximum i got by myself was 20 kmpl.

Handling is not as bad as people are saying. it's is more then good enough , just people feel it uncomfortable due to soft suspension but never been an issue for me. Braking is powerful like all hyundai cars.

Audio system not upto the mark. no preouts. stock speakers are not good. ANHC has lot better stock speakers.

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

yes diesels have that turbo lag issue one moment your in traffic you are fine as long as you do not enter the turbo band or you bang a car in front so you shift gears on the other hand no need of shifting gears in petrol.
i can be wrong as i have never driven a diesel before.
i find the head unit good stock speakers are cheap
