Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

did a drive through a badly potholed road at higher speeds found no thad thad noise
tried the same road where i used to feel bouncy at 100 this time at 130 and the car feels stable. the verna has my heart again.
fe stuck at 17 450 since last tank and mid says 210 till empty
I'm also not feeling any bumpy or thad thad noise after tightening the suspension. I tested the handling at corners in 140 KMph and WoW [:)]. Its just going in the same lane and no instability. [thumbsup]

kpaaz i asked my sa of hids he said you can install and warranty wont get affected untill the hid causes any issues with electricals, also on the sx(O) please make sure that it wont interfere with push button start (just dont cut any wires if need be use crimping method and not tapping)

The service guy saw my HID installed and he said, your headlamp and fog lamp bulbs will not be covered in warranty. As Nick said, Warranty will be available if HID will not affect other electronic things. But I'm sure HID will not affect other electronic parts in car. SM says, You will have warranty for other rest of the things except Head bulbs and fog bulbs. So I'm not worried.

One thing, If you are going to install HID for fog lamps, ask the dealer to change the fuse from 10 amps to 15 amps otherwise fog lamps fuse carrier will be poof! [;)]

@Kpaaz: Upload the pics if you have installed the HID kits. I will post some pics taken in night and the OSRAM HID kits rocks and high visibility during night time even in wet roads too.

@nick: Thats a good thing if it doesnt, i was always worried about this thing & always thought the button start would create some problem. Thanks

All Hyundai cars having same type of fog lamps H27. So I think you can install it. Anyhow check with local dealer. Philips, OSRAM stopped manufacturing H27 model bulbs. I see only P8 is giving H27 HID fog kits.

@kpaaz

dont install HID too early. most of the hyundai cars have problem getting moisture inside the headlamp.
same with my friend's i10 and now in my verna too.
if problem persists my headlamps will be changed. so check first that you dont have any such problems otherwise they wont change headlamp.

You are right! but the moisture will be created if the cup behind the head lamp is not tapped properly. You have to seal it otherwise moisture will be created. Its not created due to HID or by a bulb. I sealed the cup tightly not allowing any wet air into head lamp. Some dealers left the cup opened and the moisture will be created within a week. Same thing was happened in my previous car. [frustration]

i dont know how to tight it.
anyways i am going to sevice center this friday for this issue and to tighten the suspension along with friend as he has some missing problem(related to engine[confused]) in his i10.
he had the same moisture problem when he bought i10. and they changed his headlamp because it was not sorted out even after tightening it.

this is my new subbox -

The box is actually better.i misjudged it yesterday. this time problem was with my sub. The outer rubber part of cone that stick to the metal part of the sub has opened from one side. air was coming out from it and weird sound was coming that i told before. sticked it with fevikwick temporarily.
Now it's better then before. Exactly i wanted. proper bass thump is coming
If it opens again sub will be replaced [:D]

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

Yeah ill wait for some time, ill be going on a road trip to a nearby hillstation on friday which is around 247 + 247 kms way back. Ill get to check my actual FE on the mumbai pune expressway. The reason i got this topic is my car has currently run about 500kms so what speed max i can take my car upto?

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

i bet you will be above 20 kmpl on the expressway.
i redlined my car many times but at short bursts before i clocked 200 kms
hyundai and other manufactures run in the engine at factory and change the oil there
so no issues just keep safety in mind
reason i redlined it alot was my friend and me got an aveo at the same time i drove it like a baby and he redlined it
his car uses the same oil as mine but his revs more freely and gives better fe mine gives less and consumes some oil.
so i did the same and the engine is smoother and free reving then when i picked it up
im not sure if it applies to diesels
yeah dont stick to a certain speed for long keep changing it and donot carry lots of luggage for 1500 kms

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

Ive just heard that till 600kms we dont have to redline it. I have also noticed that is it not necesarry if im driving on the speed of 60kmph on the 6th gear my fe will increase, it didnt increase when i was doing the same. As soon as i reached 100kmph my FE increased bt 1 (From 13 it went to 14).
So i think driving on the sixth gear at low speeds is not the winning point !

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

many people say different things the thing here is that the engine is run in and ready 2 drive it the way you want.
drive it fast or drive slow no harm previous years you had to be gentle

btw i have noticed if in 5th gear i drive between 60-90 my i get around 15kmpl and 100-130 i get over that
in the other fuels 60-90 gave me 9kmpl and 100-130 gave me 12-13kmpl

Do the gear shift when the eco indicator displays and maintain b/w 90 - 100, you will see the mileage above 20 - 25 for sure.
