Sportz version is high selling version, after that Asta & Magna while Era is the least which feels barebones. Incase I want the car in either Sportz or Asta trim, I might have to settle for white color which I don't want, because I hate that white color on each and every car. It makes the car look dated.
Though many people prefer white. I am ok with Silver. Might ask the dealer to see if I can get Silver one in about 1 month. I think the MID, Passenger Airbag, Rear Headrests , Rear Wiper etc are worth to go for Asta.

Cancelled Honda City booking which I had made on Friday and have booked Elite i20 Asta Diesel in Passion Red Color just a while back. i20 & City was considered as replacement to Figo which was sold some days back. The cancellation of City was simple, we had cars of similar size and hence family decided not to buy another one of same size. So booked the reigning "Indian Car of The Year".

Had bad or you can say different experience before I booked i20 today. When I entered showroom, I was welcomed by receptionist. She asked to have a seat. Then called one of the Salesperson. When he came he enquired regarding which car I was looking for. Then this bizarre conversation followed
SP- Sir, which car are you looking for ?
Me- I am interested in i20.
SP - Ok Sir, are you looking for Diesel or Petrol.
Me - Diesel Asta.
SP - Sorry Sir, were don't have Asta.
Me- Ok, fine then show me other versions.
SP - Sir, here you go we have Magna, Era.
This is where the actual drama started.
This poor fellow showed me the Old i20 in the stockyard. I immediately asked him why is he showing me old i20, he replied saying I had asked about i20 Diesel. Then I asked him when did you join ?, he replied in October. I said send someone else, he promptly accepted and sent another person. He too came and started the same thing. I got angry and said I am talking about New i20 which was launched in August. I then asked him to show the New i20 in Astra Trim in Red color. Saw it in flesh and liked the color very much.
Then bargained for offers & didn't get anything. Made booking and returned back home.

Got a call from dealer that my car is up and ready and has been allocated to the dealer. Car is expected to arrive in 2-3 days. So will get delivery on or before 31 December. Price Hike is the reason for this.
Looks like I am very lucky to get this so quick. Another dealer had Asta Diesel Red with them but were very reluctant to give it. So went for another dealership where I made booking and the GM promised me that allocation would be confirmed by 26th. Today it was confirmed, the guys were very professional in thier approach. Saw other versions in various colors and I feel somehow that this car looks very fresh, modern & stylish in dark colors. Red & Blue look terrific in real compared to other colors. White looks dated and I am seeing lots of white ones. Expecting some freebies from dealer. Will do PDI when car arrives. Thank you to everyone who recommended, suggested and helped in buying the Elite i20.

During Booking, I had TD the i20 Diesel, though everyone knows Hyundai Diesel engines are refined, I found it otherway around with engine noise seeping into the cabin while accelerating at low revs, only 5th & 6th gear the engine felt smooth. Am I missing something here ? TD car had done 35xx kms. I always thought that engine would was always refined at idle/cruising. This has surprised me a bit. Any Elite i20 owners, do you hear engine noise inside you're car ?

Do you hear engine sound when revving in lower gears ? The engine sounds gruff at low revs & speed and smoothens at high speed and in higher gears.
My car is in transit and will be arriving mostly by night or tomorrow. January 3rd the car will be delivered. Has Hyundai hiked the car prices ?

Car has arrived at the dealership and I am taking Delivery tomorrow evening. Tomorrow morning shall do PDI.

I did not find any noise out of the ordinary, and sure there isn't any gruff noise as well.
You may find it gruff due to the absence of under bonnet insulation.
There hasn't been any formal announcement of excise duty increase from GOI.
So, I don't think there is any increase yet.
You should confirm it though.
Are you opting for any accessory from hyundai?

Overall Experience was smooth & very good, would rate 9/10.
Coming back to the car, everything is near to perfect. Overall everyone is happy with the car and that's a positive sign for us.

It's been 12 days since we bought our Elite i20, Car is wonderful and I easily the Best In Class at the moment especially the Diesel. Petrol leaves a lot to be desired. Polo GT TSI, Swift are leagues ahead.
Though Fit & Finish of Plastics is very good, the build quality isn't as good as Germans. Car has started to rattle around Dash and Door Panels on speed breakers and smooth tarmac. I was surprised by this rattle, on rough roads you can hear them rattle. Many told that Build Quality is better then competitors, I would disagree with that statement made. My cheaper and more lighter Brio feels well built & doesn't rattle at all. Many say Brio's build is not good, but when build quality is good the plastics won't rattle which seems to be the case with my Brio. If it continues, then surely the build is not good though Fit & Finish is excellent.
