Re: Hyundai Elite i20: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Hi,

I was reading about the Elite i20 in TAI forum and Hyundai website. From the picture of the pedal area of the car in Hyundai Website it seems the newly added pedal on the left (other than the normal clutch, accelerator and break pedals) is the smart pedal. Later I cleared my facts from a friend who just bought an Elite Asta. Found an interesting read about the "Smart pedal" in a website here: Is it dead pedal or smart pedal?

Hi Guys,

I need a Clarification regarding to Select the Car:help:, there are 3 models in my consideration, All r having same Engine Specification,

1) Hyundai Grand i10 - Sportz - 5.8 (Onroad)

2) Hyundai Xcent - S(O) - 6.4 (Onroad)

Its having ABS, Read Parking Sensor, Boots Space and Rear Fogger Extra compare to Grand i10 sportz. So for this I have to pay 60k extra. Is it Worth for the money.

3) Hyundai Elite i20 - Sportz - 6.9(Onroad)

Its having Read Parking Camera and Automatic Climate Control Extra Compare to Xcent S(O). So for this i have to pay again 50k extra from xcent's price. So is it worth for the money.

Please give your Suggeations.

Thanks,

If Petrol, then your decision should be between Grand and Xcent. If you need boot space, go with Xcent, else Grand. Reason I don't suggest Elit here is, petrol is much sluggish because of the additional weight(all three have same 1.2L VTVT engine) and if you want feature rich like Elite, better go for Asta trim in Grand or SX in Xcent.

It depends on your usage as well. Do you really need the extra boot space ?

Grand i10 has 250 liters , i20 has 300 and xcent has 400 liters of boot space. i20 will be more roomier than the two and more comfy.

If you have the budget go for the i20.

All 3 petrol cars (Grand 10, Xcent and Elite i20) have the same Petrol engine.

During my buy in Last September, I test drive all of these car and found that extraction of the engine power is almost same in these three siblings.
Only thing is better in the Elite i20 is that the handling is improved that the Grand i10 or from Xcent as this is the latest car from Hyundai. (But still not at all near to Polo or Punto)

It purely depends upon your requirement and choice in case of Petrol cars.

Advantage of Xcent:
1>Biggest boot size. If you need to hit the road with more luggage than it suits best.
2>If you can upgrade to SX or SX(O) then you will get every equipment that Hyundai can have in these segment. (As you consider Elite i20 Sportz too the price difference will be 40/50 K max)

Advantage of Elite i20:
1>Mind blowing exterior and Interior. People will notice you on road for sure.[:D]
2>Rear seat can be fold able for more luggage space if require.
3>Telescopic Steering.

Advantage of Grand i10:
1>Perfect small hatchback. Though third person in the rare is not comfortable.
2>In case of Price it's most affordable among the three.

Re: Hyundai Elite i20: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Guys, what's the real world FE figures that the Petrol Elite i20 gives ? Friend's who own it say that its very thirsty. They get about 10-11 in city with moderate traffic. I am really concerned about FE of i20. We have 2010 Figo which Brother uses and he is looking to replace it with Elite i20. He is looking for petrol version as his Figo is also Petrol. I am also suggesting him Grand i10. Sedan is a strict no as he requires it for 95% City commuting.

^^ As mentioned, Petrol i20 is sure gas guzzler. If I can get 13-14km/l in city traffic with my Xcent Petrol, I can safely say that 11-12 is max at city.

If petrol, better get Grand as you mentioned. He can easily get 15+ easily.

Thank for quick response mate,
This was the first thing that came to my mind when he asked that. I think Grand i10 is good enough for him. It's compact & performance is better and also has better FE. It's also cheaper and is readily available. Looking at other options also.

Does anyone knows waiting period for i20 Sportz(O) & Asta Petrol versions. Both dealers here are quoting 1.5 to 2 months. Although White & Silver are readily with them, but we are not interested in those colors.

Re: Hyundai Elite i20: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Had been to the Hyundai Dealership in the city to to check the Elite i20. Did not TD it as I will be doing that next week along with booking.
I enquired regarding waiting period. The SE asked which model I wanted. I finalized on Sportz(O), Asta (Both Petrol versions). I gave the SE 3 color choices, Passion Red, Star Dust, Pristine Blue. Red & Blue are not readily available with the dealer. They have Sportz in Stardust, but I wanted Sportz(O). Disappointed I didn't get the car of required color & version. Coming days i shall visit another dealer and update on that part.
Dealer is quoting 1-1.5 months if I want Asta in Blue/Red color. While I can get Sportz(O) in around 25-30 days.
Guys, what do you think. Is Sportz version enough or should I spend more & get Asta ?
