I'm not really into it, though i have heard many experienced person's saying that teflon is of no use and is wastage of money. Hence i haven't done. My car is all fine

Well trunk mats ? Can you post a picture of it once after delivery.

Congratulations for your new Honda

Hi Vishnu , Thank you very much[:D] for your kind and patient reply's to my message's. The car has not been delivered yet it was due to some transit issue[frustration].Will certainly post some pics once it has been delivered .

Hi Vishnu,

I am a new car owner and your blog helped me finalizing Honda Amaze(Diesel).I got my car 2 months back and I am very much satisfied with Amaze(like you). I am able to sense all the observations you have mentioned about this car and would like to appreciate and thank you for your efforts in sharing all your experiences.

Now coming to my point... Two days back a useless cylinder wala made a big scratch in my car.
Help me with some high quality scratch remover brands from your end which helps me in this. I scared to buy some unknown brands as it may bring other impacts to my car paint.

Also help me with the tyre pressure value to be maintained in our car for best milege.

Thanks,
Krishna.A

First of all, i don't think a scratch remover can work at all . Many of my friends ended up in a complete repaint. If you can share a pic here that would be better. I would suggest you to go for a paint job rather the scratch remover or else keep it untouched.[:)]

I'm using 30 psi on all tyres for better comfort and handling. Trying 33 psi on front and 30 psi on the back should give you the maximum mileage since it is the optimum pressure suggested by Honda !

What i need to know is any of the amaze owners experienced the same oil leak problem ??

Certainly iam writing to honda . Will post the reply once i get it .[anger]
Engine oil leakage from engine is not a joke. The SA seriously showed his negligence towards the vehicle when he showed another 4 amazes with the same problem. You must write to Honda. And aluminium block engines shouldn't get over heated which causes them to leak. In a tropical climate like ours, when Honda says that coolant is for 100,000 kms then that's utter bulls**t. Ensure the coolant is at its optimum level. It's better you buy the coolant from Honda because, if you use other coolants then water jackets inside the engine might get corroded. And replacing the coolant every 20,000 kms is a good thing.

As i already mentioned, it must be a problem of a batch of cars. Anyway showing other cars with the same problem is very cheap indeed. There is no problem in my engine block till now.

Replacing coolant at every 20,000 kms will be too frequent when it comes to diesel cars. Even my bike's coolant is changed every 25000 kms. Any coolant rather water can get much more life[:)]

Hi Vishnu,How are you?.After a long wait got it delivered yesterday. I was unable to reply as i was busy with some work.I will post some pics in few days.I am enjoying my ride[clap].The odd things that i noticed is the vibration to the accelerator pedal and slight jerk when the AC compressor is switched on. Other than these i found nothing wrong...

Hello Friends,
It's been a little over a month and I have already clocked 1600 Kms on my new Amaze. Here's my experience in a nutshell

1. Drive quality - Superb. The steering is super light & smooth making city drive a breeze.
2. Fuel economy - One of the biggest clincher when I purchased Amaze Diesel was Fuel economy and Amaze hasn't disappointed me here. I am getting 20.4 Kmpl (70% Highway + 30% City). Please note that I am quoting this numbers straight from the Mileage numbers displayed on the dashboard display. I am not sure about the accuracy of the number though.
3. Comfort - Initially I had some trouble with seating. I had back pain after my daily ride. I tweaked my seat a little bit and now I don't have any more issues with my back. I noticed that keeping seat high has not worked out for me and reverted to normal seat height.
4. Passenger comfort - Back seats are very comfortable and roomy. My family instantly liked the new Amaze and are no more hesitant on going out for long drives.

There are few things that I am not totally comfortable with my Amaze. I do understand that low end torque makes city driving easy. However, I noticed that I am ending up using a lot of clutch. In a traffic situation, when I am in second gear, the moment I take my leg off the clutch the vehicle is picking up too fast and I had to depress back again to maintain slow speeds. In this process, I am spending too much of my effort in depressing the clutch and slowing down the vehicle. Is this normal? I am new to stick shift and not sure if I am driving my vehicle right. Also, the clutch (since it's new) is a little hard and keeping it depressed needs some effort. Also, what's the ideal speed-gear combination? 1st gear is very short and many a time I am pulling off my vehicle on 2nd gear. Is this okay or am I putting unnecessary strain on the vehicle?
Can someone suggest good cleaning liquids to clean windshield and window glasses?
Thanks,
Sid

Unless the " Hard Clutch " part everything is normal. I never felt the clutch to be hard or did they make it hard on the 2014 edition ?[confused] It was light when i took and felt the same now. Playing with the clutch without revving is ok .

Use car shampoos. It won't do any harm. Btw nice write up. [clap]

A beautiful colour for a beautiful ride. Wishing you many more happy miles.BTW Why didn't you consider the Toyota Etios? A good engine for the city and adequate for the highway.

hi vishnu,
Headlamps of my Amaze get foggy even with small rains. Tried to pursue service center people but they said unless they see running water they will not replace. I also sent photos to customer care but again dealer person only called me and said he will not replace. Below are the pics of headlamps. Please suggest some way out

I had a similar issue. Got my headlights replaced with showing them just the pics. Try another dealer or else complain to Customer relations manager. I got them changed with ease.

Check out this Headlight warranty change

Fellow Amazers,
Parking at my apartment is very cramped and taking my Amaze in and out of the parking lot has become a big pain for me. I would like to install parking assist on my Amaze. I am looking for one that is fixed on rear view mirror and which can guide me park my car by showing red/yellow/green lines. I asked the Honda service guy and he has suggested that the cheapest option is to go for parking sensors. I looked at a vehicle parked in the service station and found the sensors on the bumper a little awkward. Any suggestions on parking assist options for Amaze?

Thanks,
Sid
