lol i think car needs a rest - pls stop driving for a while
No, i won't stop:tongue:
why would it be foolish to claim insurance for a broken ovrm?

it will easily cost you 5k since its electric ovrm, and insurance will give 100 percent?

Pardon me ! By stating foolish i really meant that it won't be a good decision while calculating and the NCB will too be affected and is not worth to claim for this ORVM. Hence stated foolish.

same here, not sure why it is foolish to claim insurance. Insurance is meant for claiming during accidents, right?
i'll be wasting my NCB and it's not worth for a claim of this much cost!

I think it will affect your NCB so before claiming insurance check out how much you will have to pay from your own pocket and the effect of it on your NCB.
Absolutely.[cheers]

ORVMs would be considered as plastic parts and hence attract depreciation unless you have zero dep. (not sure about the motor inside it). And rather than thinking about foolishness, consider the cost-benefit proposition:- Depreciation amount, processing fee (typically 1k per claim) and next year's no-claim bonus vs. amount you would be getting back from insurance company.
Yes!! This is what i also concluded and hence decided not to go for the insurance claim.

by the way, ORVMs remind me; does anyone feel that ORVMs should have been folded inwards more i.e. even in folding state, they still protrude a lot; don't they?
Yes, sometimes I've felt the same too. Not very much though. At least it would give some more clearance for mirror's while parked.
have you got the replacement for air intake now??
Definitely not yet ![confused]

I have inquired for air intake filter change, found that this replacement is only for the vehicles that was manufactured till August 2013, vehicles manufactured after come with the updated part.

Old part has holes at the end, so while driving on the stagnated water there is a lot of chance for air intake filter to suck the water along with the air. this happens when water level reaches to half of the Tyre or increases, also possible to intake the water while A is pressed hardly/quickly to get immediate pickup while driving on stagnated water.

So when engine gets water along with the air, it is damaged and cause about and more than 2L for service.

New part comes with the dummy holes that helps, if the water intakes that does not reach till engine and will be drained. But not sure how many % this will work.

darkkid85 My vxmt diesel went for 3rd service . It cost me a total of 2500 . 2000 for oil and 390 for oil filter and some taxes etc . The gear shift has become a bit smoother but there is still vibration in the A pillar that the could not fix for the third time . The replaced the air intake pipe as it was a standard recall . Car gives me a constant 20 kmpl in city and 25 kmpl on highways . 100% Ac on . Vibrations in engine still there . Else all ok .[:)]

My bill came out to be 2611. For me cabin vibrations are rarely heard. I had some metal noise coming from clutch few weeks ago due to moisture. They lubricated the clutch for that.

The place is Patnitop in J&K. I was using the normal tyres & car was able to deliver enough power for traction.Though ABS delayed the time of braking.

I was a bit worried about the ground clearance of the car but was able to drive it for nearly 15 kms in the snow without any problem.
