Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

Thanks allhyundai. I think the dash board colour is not finalized. Is it darkest brown; grey or black or a mixture of all.[lol] Also will be going of a simple design something like this:
L U HB1.jpg

or should it be in inverse colour?

And yes regarding the fe; I also feel that almost all cars in this segment gives the same. Also thanks a lot for confirming. I hope the stats are of Diesel.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

Okey so today had gone for fitting the seat covers which I had ordered two days back from the fixed shop where we had got the seat covers for our DZire; Indigo and few of our collegues rides. So he was a reasonable guy and very helpful in deciding the design and the colour combination.

Earlier I had planned to go for brown and beige; but after having a look at one of those pic in nick's thread; it didnt excite me. Dropped the idea. Went there and that guy showed me a sample which was being made for another fluidic. Though I had not taken the car with me. That was with a combo of beige and brown. He told me to select the design since the two colours will only go with the fluidic. Some how I was sure those were not the shades near to the dash and the side pannels.

I enquired about getting black seats with beige stripes. He said no problem; but IMO it will ruin the interior. He said he can make any colour if I say red nd black or yellow or white..

So dropped the idea of black and went again on beige with brown stripes; but still was not sure with brown. Told him that I am bringing the car since I am not sure with the shades. He started laughing and said okey.

Got the car in 5minutes and yes that cover which he was making for another fluidic did not matched. Checked out few samples and finalised the shade of beige. Next was to choose brown. Actually the dashboard in black with slight ting of brown. The brown sample was not matching; but the black was looking good. Finalised on beige with black stripes.

Today went there with the car; and the fitting guy was an idiot I must say. He was in a hurry to complete my car since he had some work for another car which he had taken privately(got to know later.)

He removed the front seats and the rear below one. Finished then in 1hr. I was standing there with him simply not allowing them to switch on the fm and all. Later Dad arrived to pick me up for lunch at home. I was not sure about leaving the car but he insisted since the shopowners will have a lunch time and the fitter too.

Got back after 1hr and the work was almost complete. Only the headrests were left. IMO the work was done pathetically. The rear armrest was so tight and the plastic parts came in my hand.[frustration] I called the fitter and he said it will be okey after few days since the cloth is heavy and all.

Then left was the front arm rest. He tried to open few screws but left it saying that he will not open and told me to get it opened from somewhere else. Got pissed off and told the owner. He arranged the local mechanic and he opend in flat 3minutes.

Nways over all the fitting is okey but not that perfect as it was on my DZire. If the owner had told me to get the zipper ones cover for the rear arm rest than I would had gone for that. This fitting is good for nothing. I dont think that I would be able to open up the armrest smoothly and will have to say people sitting back not to open that. Also when I reached home and started clicking pics; I noticed this:[frustration] Might have happened while installing the driver seats back.

Have a look at the colour match/difference. This was the best that I could choose.

Actually the colors look good and it should match the Verna perfectly. But I guess, as you said, the fit is little loose. It might get further loose as days pass by.

BTW - how much did you pay for the covers and labor?

The choice of beige color shade is good and it matches with the interior. But the finish i would say is not upto the mark. If possible reinstall at good fitter. How did it costed to you. Whethere it is branded or specially steached for you?

Thank you. And yeah; it was the best I could match from the samples.[:D]

Dont scare me buddy!

I paid 5.8k(special rate for us since we are their fixed customer.) for the whole work including the front arm rest and the labour and all. I hope it is okey; because when I enquired in some accessories shops; the quoted me the ones ready made (supplied by the manufacturers like ones from whom I got these) for 6.5k-7.5k and I didnt like any of those.

The choice of beige color shade is good and it matches with the interior.
Thanks mate.

But the finish i would say is not upto the mark.
I know. No problem in stitching department; but the installer messed up every thing.

If possible reinstall at good fitter.
Will ask someone else if they are ready to remove them safely and reinstall.

How did it costed to you. Whethere it is branded or specially steached for you?
It costed me 5.8k as mentioned above. And yes they are specially stitched for me and they are not branded. The best from the lot. If any thing happens to the cloth; we can go back to them because we are their fixed customers. Also had mentioned them not to stamp the Hyundai Logo or the Verna logo and all. I like them simple.

Hi Gear 1313. Considering Verna 1.6 Sx after my Honda City Zx. As my daily commute to office and back is around 60km. So Petrol Cost is Coming too high. But i thought that Company claims Verna give around 21 kmpl. So i was considering that minimum it should give 14-15 kmpl,.. But reading your updates, I am really disappointed. Please tell me whether your fuel efficieny have increased or not??

Hey Turbo; to be frank my daily commute is nearly the same as yours. To be frank; The Fe I am getting is 13-14kmpl 100%ac overall tank to tank full, since I topup my tank once a week. This includes the highways and city both. Some times dense traffic also.

Also when I asked my SA about the FE during the first service; he straight away said 10-12kmpl and I stopped the discussion there itself. People claiming might be telling their FEs which is showing in the MID. Also IMO if we do interstate trips like Mumbai-Pune or Mumbai-Goa; we might get around 16-17 easily since the car will be most of the time in 5th and 6thgear.

As of now I have completed around 6500kms and people say after the first oil change there might be minor increase in FE. When I am done with my second service at 10k kms; then only I can confirm the change. So as of now it is 13-14kmpl 100%ac and the MID is crazy showing 15-16-18-20-25-30 and oce showed 42kmpl[lol]

IMO for you shifting from a City(petrol) to a Verna(Diesel) would be a wise choice because atleast you will feel happy while refueling (Not to forget the money that will be spent on the new one.) Also you will love the features and yes; Dont expect too much from this car. [:)]

I can confirm that it does not give above 11-12 in city driving with A.C on.for Diesel. I too switched to it from Honda City Gxi.
Also one of our forum member allhyundaicars shared that even other rivals Vento and Rapid are not doing wonders in city FE.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

DEzire LDI giving mileage of 16 in city
My 2008 DZire VDi used to give us 15kmpl in similar conditions and usage where my Fluidic currently giving 13.5-14kmpl.[:D]

Nways (No offence)

DZire LDI=1.3DDiS with 74bhp@4000rpm(I guess) giving 16kmpl in city with 165section tyres.

Fluidic Verna CRDi SX= 1.6CRDi with 126bhp@4000rpm(I guess) giving 13.5-14kmpl in city with 195section tyres with bigger boot than Dzire.

I think the Verna is doing justice here.[roll]
Atleast I keep myself happy after seeing this simple comparison.[lol]
