i haven't seemed to understand the thing about the mid as yet. I fill up on palm beach bpcl. When i drive either to vashi or my place it skyrockets up to 16/17 but then when i come to the croma signal it crashes down to 9km/l finally settles out at 12 or something. But after filling the tank it changes fast either goes up or down but after some km it stays at one point and takes time to go up or fall.
Now a days I have started using that instant fe display which shows the amount of fuel used while accelerating. After that there are serious changes in my driving style. The mid is cnstantly showing fe between 15-15.3. I am expecting atleast a km rise in my overall fe, fingers crossed.

its not possible to paste your eyes on that display. mine drops to 0 when accelerating gently or hard and stays at 12 while steady

Nick - I guess this should be because the avg FE is calculated as (distance travelled)/(fuel consumed). During the first few kms after the fill, the numerator is pretty less - so whatever fuel that is consumed will cause the avg to change drastically. Once a few kms is done after the fill, the numerator and denominator settles down with bigger numbers. So that is when we get the actual Avg FE.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

thats what i was saying, lots of stuff not included.
the catalytic convert has 3 years warranty i suppose wonder why their not including it here.
Suspensions are only covered for 60k km? or the whole 2 years unlimited km? I'm confused.
the only thing i guess which is covered is alternator, ac compressor, engine, radiator fan motor, abs, air bags, transmission, starter motor. Seems worth the cost?

Yeah; 12-13kmpl is the actual fe i am getting from the tank full to tankfull method, though the obd shows between 14-15 and sometimes it crosses 17 too. People say the fe will increase by a couple of kms after the 10k km service which inludes the oil change and all.
Nwayz I hope you have covered the car before leaving it unless there is someone else as maniac as us who will be taking care of her.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

my cars past 10k km theres no difference though.
The only increase in fe i got was when i changed the oil at 5000km.
it was around 3-4km/l increase.
However i feel with the verna my driving style has improved in the fuel economy department. Due to the fe indicator I've been constaly working on that finding the right efficient rpm range.

Me too have started driving with that instant fe indicator; that horizontal brick game like indicator. I have reduced the use of accelerator and have now started keeping the car in the required gears. Earlier i use to shift gears soon because i thought higher the gears more the fe. But no its is not like that. That indicator changed my perception. Now it is like: less the accelerator more the fe i feel.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

gears i checked with him for the bridgestones he told me it should be around 8000-9000 per tire but prices keep changing, theres a bridgestone shop just ahead of palm beach galleria opposite indian oil, its owned by a sardarji he's pretty nice he was offering my the potenzas last year it was abit more then the yokohamas, this person as well told me the b250 are utter disgust many guys have torn their sidewalls. However he was telling me to go for 205/55/16.
Someone told me these potenzas last really long.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

Thanks a lot bro. Atleast now I got a rough idea how much I will have to save.[glasses]

Nways the stock tyres are crap. You take the car over some water(the ones which is collected next to the footpath) and you will loose the control. Also I have started seeing cuts in the threads. I mean they are so cheap.
Also; I had Potenza GIII's in my DZire; (from 45k kms till car was sold at 76k kms)believe me even after 30k kms those were strong and the wear was not that much. Except few punctures. And they looked awesome.

BTW the car is nearing 5k kms. Should I do the tyre rotation or at 10k?

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

my car doesnt loose control luckily, but the water splashes on the windscreen somehow. Do the rotation at 10k. I did a wheel alignment today after 2000km i posted details of it on my thread. Btw what do you mean cuts in the thread? can you post pictures? if the cuts are on the front then do a rotation, a few guys told me that on the verna the alignment keeps going out so tires can wear sooner, even the tires look tilted. ive had turanzas on my aveo they were silent and good but grip wasnt great. they lasted 45k then i changed to good year nct5 their to noisy, developed a bulge twice once bursted.

Re: Got Wet in the Rain of Fluidics!!!

Yeah I read it in your thread.
Well the cut is in the front tyre on the thread. I think I ran over some glass (bottle) and it entered the thread tearing it; thankfully did not reached the tyre surface and did not puntured it. Will try to find out the cut again and post a pic if possible.[roll]
