Welcome to TAI, this is ravi, new member of TAI.
Purchased Ford Figo Aspire TDCI Titanium smoke Grey last december.
till now completed 1450 km and real time fuel consumption is 20 kmpl combined with city and highway (100% AC).

i'm having 2 running horses working for me, first one joined in 2008 with 2 wheels(RTR 160 carb) and done the job well till last year, as daily running increased bought another horse with 4 wheels (Figo Aspire). both do have respectable raw power to act quickly either in street jungle or highway ocean. still they are nimble and pocket friendly.

Hi Ravi. Awesome workhorses up there buddy. Apache, a sporty bike which has loads of torque that makes riding in town damn easy and effortless with less gear shifts, the Aspire a powerful highway cum city car that is very easy to drive and a great handler as well. Wishing you loads of happy miles as well as a great time in TAI.

Thanks for your response. Mileage is varying between 27-32 kmpl for highway runs. My drives are mostly on highways.
What I have seen is even at 100kmph instantaneous fuel economy is shown between 12-45 kmpl depending on ascending or descending roads. If I drive sedatelly at 60 kmph I have seen figures 35 -48 kmpl. This is quite amazing. I never thought Aspire will be so fuel efficient. As a result my fuel bills have came down :)
Those are amaging numbers...[surprise], I am getting the highway mileage of 27(as per the odometer but if I calculate with tank to tank method it is 26) with my blue aspire 1.5D titanium.
My fuel efficiency pics are attached in fuel efficiency thread.

What is your average fuel efficiency?

Hi All

I have observed a bit weird problem when it comes to Diesel. I generally prefer Shell fuels. However what i have seen is after filling Diesel from Shell station the Aspire feels bit heavier to drive compared to the Diesel which i fill in some other IOC or BP stations. Car feels so much smoother with less vibrations.

Any idea why this might be the case? Otherwise Aspire is fantastic to drive.

Thanks.

Hello all, I am new to this wonderful forum. I am seriously looking for some answer that would really help me to decide weather to buy ford figo or go for another. Now coming to my quires, I see in ford India site that ''High-strength Steel Cage'' has been used for next gen ford figo but when I googled I come accross this thread
Ford Figo review, road test - Reviews - Autocar India Mobile Edition
where they mentioned that ''Ford has done away with the use of high-strength Boron steel (to keep costs in check) in this application. As a result, the chassis isn’t as stiff as an EcoSport’s. You can also tell the Figo isn’t built as solid as the other Fords either. That reassuring thunk you get on door shut is missing here. However, this Ford is among the lighter hatchbacks out there. The top-spec diesel one weighs in at 1,041kg, while the petrol automatic is even lighter at 1,037kg. ''
So now, Iam really confused weather to believe ford india site or the above mentioned website. I do understand that ford has compramised quality when compared to previous gen ford but I dont know weather Aspire has better build quality than the Figo. I am more concerned about the safety issues despite the back ground of poor crash test scores of our Indian make cars. I really appreciate any help regarding this.

The information is correct Ford havent used HIGH STRENGTH BORON STEEL for new Figo, but instead used High strength steel
The Global Fiesta and Ford Ecosport has 24% High strength Boron steel and rest high strength steel chassis
The Figo uses 49% high strength steel(Hyundai Creta too uses the same High strength steel) and rest regular steel like in all other cars of this class
High strength Boron steel is very expensive and reinforces the front crumble zones and side A pillar and B pillar while rest is high strength steel in Fiesta and Ecosport, in new Figo A pillar, front crumble Zone and B pillar are made of High strength steel and rest out of regular steel.

So despite lack of High strength Boron steel Ford still uses High strength steel as opposed to regular steel in new B526 Figo, Ford says the use of more high strength steel will make Figo safer than all other cars in its segment,
Chassis of new Figo seems to be strong but the doors and sheet metal etc used are single layer as opposed to dual layer like in 1st gen Figos which made them heavy and strong
So the initial light feeling one gets masks a strong endo skeleton of Figo

If the light weight disturbs, take a look at Tata Zest, its a really good alternative to Figo Aspire,

Thank you 1989rs500 for your kind reply. This clarifies that ford figo, is still better built or at the least on par with i20. One more thing is I come across here in this forum in another thread about anti roll bars being missed in some variants. Now I am being offered 35k discount on diesel, 2015 november-december make ambiente model ford figo. I am really tempted to take this offer as I earlier booked Tata Tiago diesel high end models which is costing 6.80 lak onroad and I am little worried about the reliability of Tata Revotorqe new engine and thinking ford figo diesel would be more value for money at the same price range of 6.80 lak. It would be of immense help to me if some one clarifies weather the anti roll bars are missing in diesel ambiente model as well? Am I getting the fair deal on 2015 dec make ambiente model or should I go for any other models? As my present running kms would be less than 1000km/month. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

35k is nothing. A member here is getting 15k plus seat covers plus rear parking sensors. This is around 25k rs.
Bargain hard and you can get a much better deal. Ask him for 50k plus accessories.

Look for the trend variant.

If thats the case go with Tiago, the Figo is best at Trend and Titanium variants only,
Titanium variants have anti roll bars, dont know about other variants, thats said in a car like Figo unless we do too much spririted driving there is no need for anti roll bars,
But that said the Figo Trend+ petrol will give a lot more value than diesel Ambient,
So just dont think diesel only
Nowadays petrol engines make lot of sense,
Figo 1.2 duratec gives 10-12 kmpl in hard city traffic
In moderate traffic it gives 13-14 kmpl
In highways it will give 18-22 kmpl

Whereas diesel will give 14-15 kmpl in hard city traffic
16-17 kmpl in moderate traffic and 22-26 kmpl highway

And @eswar can get the Titanium petrol for 6.87 lakhs on road,
As long as petrol prices are under 70 Rs petrol makes a lot of sense,
So I suggest either go for Titanium Figo petrol or Tiago revotorq, dont go for base variants, ABS is a must for a car that has 100 HP which Ambient lacks,
But in Titanium you get everything you will need, like AbS,airbags, rear wipers which are very very useful on super rainy days, etx etx
And in case of Ford models I have observed that Titanium models retain value much better than other variants over long time,
So If I were you I would have picked Figo 1.2 petrol Titanium,
If Tata service is doing fine in your city go with Tiago, its a fantastic car,
Petrols are better for reliability too, petrol cars can run lakhs of kms without much troubles unlike diesels which can get tricky to maintain post 1 lakh kms, NA engines are reliability champs, however we may look at it, so think twice before finalizing on diesel vs petrol.
