Honda knows how to play the game, and add to that the Brand image it brings unlike the Ford. It was bound to happen if it wasn't the Brand Image that we care about Tata Zest and Ford Aspire would have been leading the sales Charts in this segment.

Also the Aspire does this with not even a single TV ad, just some radio ads and internets adds,
Ig Ford had advertised they could have had more success, so pity on Ford s marketing side again, such a competetive market and no promotion, if they dont advertise Ecosport and Fiesta too no issues but Figo and Aspire needs ads and lot of push for customers to get into, looking forward for improvements,
Come on Ford, what are you guys thinking over there, cars to fly off showrooms without proper markwting.

Preview: Ford Figo Aspire fuel economy challenge (the dry run) | Gaadi.com

Guys
The Aspire is a master piece, really sad to see its sales not catching up with pathetic Marutis,

Look what Aspire has achieved ,I believe its a world record for a production car,
Remember Aspire has just 5 gears,
Its got 100 bhp and 215 NM and a performance that can match anything like Vento,Rapid,Verna,Creta...

Fords aerodynamics and engine master piece is so damn awesome that I feel Ford should advertise this achievement. Go further Ford. Also Aspire owners,
How are the real world mileage figures?

An Aspire DCT owner I know of is getting 12.7 kmpl in Trivandrum city with full time AC and with 100% city driving..he is extrmely satisfied with the car, he comes from a Hyundai i10 AT which used to give him 10.5-11 kmplin city with AC and not even 1/4th the power of Aspire.

Ford Figo Aspire sets a new fuel economy record : 994.84km @ 42.02kmpl

A challenge that requires a car to be driven from Bangalore to Mumbai, a distance of almost 1000km, in the least amount of the fuel.
The current Bangalore-Mumbai fuel economy record was held by Gaadi.com with a fuel economy of 39.94kmpl in 21 hours 16 minutes for 984.59km – this was two years back on a Renault Scala.

With the Ford Figo Aspire test now completed, although the figure was less as compared to the displayed economy of 46.5, we weren’t complaining. The Aspire had set a new record on the Bangalore-Mumbai route by covering more distance in lesser time and by using less fuel.
994.84km in a record 20 hours 34 minutes with an overall record average fuel economy of 42.02kmpl – that’s the new Ford Figo Aspire diesel for you!

A detailed video on the drive coming up next week from Gaadi.com!

I own Aspire 1.5 D and have completed about 4500 kms so far in last couple of months. Fantastic car to drive on highways and city. However, in couple of instances i have observed that on an very steep incline it spews up smoke in 1st or 2nd gear. Any idea why this might be the case? It does not happen frequently only once in a while. Car has completed first servicing however oil will not be changed till 10k kms as per Ford.

Any inputs are welcome. Thanks.

Usually diesel engines do smoke a bit when under hard acceleration, but its something that needs to be bothered unless engine warning lights up on display,
Also make sure to fuel the TDCi with good diesel from a good fuel pumps, some local pumps have poor quality fuel that will either over ignite or under ignite that can harm injectors, pistons etc, so make sure to pump from a trusted fuel pump,
Happy motoring, how is the mileage?

Thanks for your response. Mileage is varying between 27-32 kmpl for highway runs. My drives are mostly on highways.
What I have seen is even at 100kmph instantaneous fuel economy is shown between 12-45 kmpl depending on ascending or descending roads. If I drive sedatelly at 60 kmph I have seen figures 35 -48 kmpl. This is quite amazing. I never thought Aspire will be so fuel efficient. As a result my fuel bills have came down :)

Wow those are some amazing numbers,
Anyway make sure about good fueling and if the running is high like over 8k kms within 8 months, keep oiling the engine every 8k kms, that will ensure better engine life even past 120000 kms,
Happy motoring.

Hi Everyone,
This is my 1st Post here, and I own a Aspire, and I have completed close to 5100kms and I have to say the drive is awesome both on Highways and as well in City. It's comfortable to drive and I am getting a FE close to 25 as of now. It's been 2 months since I got the car, have been driving mostly in Highways.

I have now completed 7500 kms on Aspire. I wanted to know from experts here if it advisable to use Diesel additives like "Roger System D" especially since first oil change will happen only 10k kms. I generally put Diesel at Shell bunks if they are available.

Thanks.

I think diesel fluids are good but its better to use them after 1st service, also if pumping is done mostly with Shell etc, keep up that practise, also do the idling rule after long drives, keep car on at least 30s before switching it off after 1.5 hr + drives, helps reduce fluid accumulation at undesired parts of engine and better coolant recirculation,
Since most drives are highway drives, whats the tyre pressure used?
