Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014
Reliability is purely dependent on how one manages the car, the only car companies thats purely reliable in terms of engine life are Honda,Toyota according to me, somehow their blocks and cylinders and injectors keep on firing , rest all are very much prone to failures if not taken care of
I know lots of Fiesta owners who care super satisfied with TDCis and a few who have hit troubles
The TDCi of Fiesta the new one is inter cooled and its life for 1 year is 100% guarantee, actually in UK Fiesta is considered best car to buy if opting for a second hand car beating even Toyota Yaris 1.4 D-4D for reliability
But in practice if we service car correctly check engine oil and water level and coolant level constantly almost all modern engines are easily capable of upto 1 lakh kms, only Japs can survive without much fuss even if not properly taken care of
About Fiesta pricing the car has already commenced testing in India partly camouflaged says my source and pricing although not official the 1st news that he got is
8.5L- Ambiente
9.9L - Trend
11.5L- Titanium
That puts at par with new Honda City and Verna , as already mentioned by me even if these pricing are a bit on the higher side,if they can manage it as best drivers car by making its driving super perfect like 0 turbo lag, buttery shift,5 point sensitive speed steering(Ecosport is 3 point sensitive) , better brakes and better ride, its going to appeal to enthusiasts, I have always liked Fiesta for 1 thing the way it drives and it looks the way it drives as well, the 2012 model was a disappointment not just of the interior the biggest disappointment for me was the super hard clutch and to add to the quirkiness huge turbo lag below 2000 rpm so it was super difficult to be in half clutch in heavy traffic and if cars rpm goes below 2000 rpm then it was so difficult to manage it, so it was a super good chassis with under tuned engine and bad driving characteristics that let it down the most, otherwise 2012 Fiesta might have found homes of at least some enthusiasts
