Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014

I think the prices quoted by 1989rs500 are not official, so wait for Ford to announce the prices. I strongly believe they will not do the same mistake again by pricing Fiesta insanely high.
Even I don't believe Ford is going to price it like that,if so it's better to write an obituary for the Fiesta in India. If they have any chance of making it the base diesel should start at 9 ex showroom.

They should price it similar to Honda City / Hyundai Verna. Only then this amazing product will survive in India.

My friend owns a 2007 model of Ford Fusion 1.4 (Diesel). It has clocked closer to 1,85,000 kms. Its running silky smooth from day one. He did not face any issues yet. He says he has no plan to sell it off and get another car.

Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014

Reliability is purely dependent on how one manages the car, the only car companies thats purely reliable in terms of engine life are Honda,Toyota according to me, somehow their blocks and cylinders and injectors keep on firing , rest all are very much prone to failures if not taken care of
I know lots of Fiesta owners who care super satisfied with TDCis and a few who have hit troubles
The TDCi of Fiesta the new one is inter cooled and its life for 1 year is 100% guarantee, actually in UK Fiesta is considered best car to buy if opting for a second hand car beating even Toyota Yaris 1.4 D-4D for reliability
But in practice if we service car correctly check engine oil and water level and coolant level constantly almost all modern engines are easily capable of upto 1 lakh kms, only Japs can survive without much fuss even if not properly taken care of

About Fiesta pricing the car has already commenced testing in India partly camouflaged says my source and pricing although not official the 1st news that he got is
8.5L- Ambiente
9.9L - Trend
11.5L- Titanium
That puts at par with new Honda City and Verna , as already mentioned by me even if these pricing are a bit on the higher side,if they can manage it as best drivers car by making its driving super perfect like 0 turbo lag, buttery shift,5 point sensitive speed steering(Ecosport is 3 point sensitive) , better brakes and better ride, its going to appeal to enthusiasts, I have always liked Fiesta for 1 thing the way it drives and it looks the way it drives as well, the 2012 model was a disappointment not just of the interior the biggest disappointment for me was the super hard clutch and to add to the quirkiness huge turbo lag below 2000 rpm so it was super difficult to be in half clutch in heavy traffic and if cars rpm goes below 2000 rpm then it was so difficult to manage it, so it was a super good chassis with under tuned engine and bad driving characteristics that let it down the most, otherwise 2012 Fiesta might have found homes of at least some enthusiasts

Have been bothering Ford customer care and dealer everyday to get an approximate release date of the face-lifted Fiesta. Don't know how true it is but seems like Fiesta 2014 is coming only after two more months [frustration]

Re: Ford Fiesta Facelift Coming To India in 2014

I am leaving Ford for good. Toyota here I come [:)]. I am looking for more reliable options which includes good A.S.S. I am ready to sacrifice all the advantages offered by Ford for the sake of peace of mind, everyone's lifestyle & requirements are different. Don't worry Apple, you wont go wrong with Eco-sport either. Both the cars have their own advantages. So you need not regret if you have to buy Eco-sport. But if you love driving then Fiesta wont disappoint you at all. And Fiesta is easy to drive in traffic & hunting hound around corners. Looking at the current demand for ecosport, I don't think you will be getting your car anytime soon. So I suggest that you wait & pick the car of your choice. In the end, personal satisfaction is more important.

Wise choice as for reliability Toyota is still the undisputed winner, If Honda had released their new Civic I would have given a thumps UP for new Civic over Corolla but as for now the Toyo is super cheap to buy and run ad will munch miles like no others can

Thanks bro. I will also utilize the tax benifit too [;)]. Honda is the king in petrols & Toyota is the king in Diesels. Honda is yet to be proven in India. I have driven the city as well as Amaze but not satisfied with the NVH levels. And I dont judge the refinement of an engine based upon the NVH levels, like how ppl usually do. But still honda has to prove itself over the years. So I dont want to become a lab rat. After driving a 13 yr old qualis with 2,90,000 kms on it. I became yota's fan.

Honda and Diesel, is a big NO NO, I was talking about Petrol buddy, Honda I-VTEC is one hell of a car thats refinement and eagerness to revv are still unmatched by some modern engines, They might not be the most powerful but they are supremely eager and I VTECs have super good reliability ratings as well

I would like to add that Toyota's are cheap to maintain but not cheap to buy. Corolla diesel is expected to cost 16 lakhs. And spare part costs of toyota are very costly like any other D segment but they usually dont go. I causually spoke to a taxi driver about his corolla diesel and he was kind enough to show me his car, it was driven 80,000 kms and he started the engine & wanted me to listen to the sound. The sound was barely audible.

What a driver's car it is. My humble request to all Ford owners, change engine oil well before specified interval, maintain coolant, keep a check on oil & coolant leaks and take preventive measures. Then your cars will keep on giving you the pleasure of driving it. And they wont even give you a problem as long as you own it.[:)]
