Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

The wait is getting endless.. Even the staunch Ecosport supporters in the forum have gone tired and silent now.. Not sure what Ford is up to with such a pathetic show in terms of managing the product launch and related communication..
bijoos seem to have a point, i have been waiting for something official from Ford, even my trusted sources have started the silent game now, they wont update me as they used to, all they have to say is launch is near and it may be between 20th and 25th of this month

Also i think my tentative price quote of 8-11 lakh on road for 10 variants is almost becoming a truth, if thats the case even if the delay is long enough the ES will eat into duster and premium hatchback territory and might record a 2 lakh annum sales again as the figo does

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

several dealers have now confirmed launch on 24/25 June. on Price, refer my earlier post.

a friend of mine who works at Ford told me a week back that ford plans to produce only 3k cars per month, duster sold 5.126k last month... so I would not believe this. But if true, then i feel the waiting period could be equivalent to expecting a new baby!![clap]

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

had gone to accessories guy , who himself has booked a ford ecosport.

he said they would get delivery only by september.

the launch would be by july.

they are silently testing /abusing their car to know of niggling issues as ford does not want negative publicity for the ecosport.

they are apparently betting big on it.

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

This is far beyond crossing the patience levels, whilst all other manufacturers are launching their models without any drama like Amaze, T-jet , Vibe, A-class etc in recent times, Ford is just not doing good to it's image.

I have doubts, that Ford will launch it next week ( 20- 25th June).[frustration]

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

I just read the news in manorama online. FORD would have made these statements false by revealing the launch date.

I can't understand what is there to hide the launch date???

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

yeah i agree to a great extent. understand from several posts that by 15/16, the discoveries winner will be announced who is suppose to win the ford ES. so launch has to be around the corner... Reading about the manorama article, I somehow feel I would opt for 1.5L petorl MT. The biggest advt for ecoboost engine was more (efficient) for less. that falls flat afte I read that most test drivers in the Goa media campaign only got FE less than 10. that sucks - pay premium for an engine only to have low FE.

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

atually everything is confusing. The article mentions that ES will initially launch in 12 major cities. Yesterday, I read that launch is 10 days away - the time it will take to transport thes cars to nepal and J&K. Thoroughly confuses!

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

Even I got a call. Official booking amount 50k, but there is a catch - they will charge you 5k toward cancellation fee if you cancel. I find totally strange - without test drive, pricing, detailed official features, how could Ford charge cancellation fee?
I personally think that several dealers who didnt accept booking have not jointly decided to take bookings citing Ford communication - they must be thinking why to be left behind.

on the launch - now understand its on 24/25 June, price launch also on the same day.
more than anything wait is irritating me. [frustration] I had opted for company registrationi in March. As an exception, my HR allowed me to opt for the bank car scheme without submitting an pakka invoice. So essentially, i will pay for the vehicle from April onwards ie pay for not using for 3 months and counting.

I hope someone from Ford reads this and if not for free, then atleast reimburse me for this loss through some discount/freebies (I know it feels like if elephants could fly)
went for live chat on Ford website. SHOCKING communication - Ford has not advised about commencement of official bookings yet. Hence, all the more credibility to my suspicion posted above![clap]

Ford has tweeted :
Ford dealerships across India have started accepting bookings to meet enthusiastic demand of the #EcoSport. Contact your closest dealership.

The livechat people are third party vendors who might not be informed about this sudden move from ford.

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

I assume it doesn't make any sense to keep discussing the same launch date, pricing speculation anymore, all we have to do is wait until 17th to 20th of June. [roll]

Ford has officially quoted INR 50000 as booking charges and INR 3000 as cancellation charges.

Also, the launch is officially confirmed for last week of June.

This is ridiculous. How can Ford charge a cancellation fee, when they haven't launched and announced the price of the product yet ? How does this all become "Official" ?

Another Duster in making[frustration]
