@Indian

From those, pics knee room is okay, but what about the thigh support
Thigh support is a relative thing . If you take a average man with average built the thigh support is good .

OT: Duster already overpriced, now Nissan is going to be 75K more, that's good for me now no confusions. All set for Ecosport [clap]

@RK, thigh support may be adequate for average built person, the person in the pic is very tall I suppose, see his head almost touching the roof. I am happy to see higher seating position than duster. But the window line on the Ecosport goes up and hope it wont feel claustrophobic inside, duster looks better here.

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

called up a dealer in Mumbai - he confirmed launch is still scheduled for 11 June. But i doubt it as I understand from a friend who works in Ford, Alan Mulally is scheduled to come to India on 15 June. So I am guessing thats when the launch will happen?

Gosh I am so tired waiting - been delaying since Sep 2012?

It is the other way around i.e. Nissan models are cheaper viz a viz similar Renault vehicles.

And, YES, "All set for Eco-sport".

OT: As per the reports Renault and Nissan have some agreement and according to that there has to be a price deference between similar products of about 75k, and the product launched last should be more expensive. So Nissan duster will be more expensive IMO.

If that is the case in the "terms and conditions" of the agreement, you are right. I felt otherwise, as per the models available in the market.

Lets see, as and when Nissan Duster comes here...!

Since Alan Mulally is going to come on 15th I think he will rest for a day ( [:D]) and on 17th ford must launch the ES .[clap] again this is just my assumption no source .

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

Did visit a Ford dealer today, they refused to take booking amount and said the Demo vehicle will be arriving showroom next week and launch will be probably in the third week of June. Btw they have received all the brouchers and training materials and also their service technicians have got trained. So all in all, its most likely that the 2 year waiting period will be ending somewhere around 3rd week of June!

I have no more words , i feel like i know every inch of Ecosport and here is the another one for those looking for a video report of ES

Ford EcoSport diesel video review by Autocar India - YouTube

I am already crazy of this car, the sea grey color makes this Ecosport look much more expensive car that what it might be as well, absolutely bonkers, love the design, i still cant believe Ford pulled such a brilliant design into such a compact shape, brilliant, whatever the regular Indian might think of it, its a born winner, even if Maruti releases the XA alpha or the VW Taigun mini or if chevy does the Chevvy Trax, i think Ecosport will stand bold among them as well, the design looks sophisticated and different for different colour as well, the white and silver looks classy,The grey and blue look sexy, the mars red looks well outlandish, I am sure even if this Ecosport dosent make a huge sales amount like the Swift,i think its the best launch of the decade, still if priced right, this car could be Fords future in India

Here is one review of Ecosport 1.5 TiVct as well, as suspected, its going to be slow

Re: First Drive: Ford EcoSport Test Drive Review

The Ecoboost Engine is priced £250 (on the road) (Rs22194). So even if you see the inter company price can be Rs18000 and you add a max of 100% import Duties & Tax, it comes to about 36,000. Now lets consider the price of a 1.5 L Petrol engine to be abt Rs10,000. so the net diff in price comes to 26000 and if you add 4000 profit ford will make. it comes to 30000. So approximately the difference in price btw the 1.0 and 1.5 may be only 30,000.
