If budget is tight Ecosport Trend+ gives even more value, the missing features are alloy wheels, projector head lamps, rear seat arm rest, ambient lighting, all of which can be retrofitted after purchase down the line of ownership.
So do take a look at Trend+ diesel as well.

I have been chasing malad ford showroom for titanium manual TD but even after 10+ days of launch, i have been told that they are not being allotted a petrol manual TD car, sounds strange that a TD car has not yet been allotted in a place like mumbai. As per the posts on other forums and YouTube videos, lot of showrooms allover have been getting different variants.

In Hyd, some showrooms have got MT, some have got AT. So I guess the first allocation is in different combinations.

Autocar comparo Ecosport Titanium Petrol MT and Nexon Petrol
While she had me at fit, finish issues and niggles in Nexon, her overall conclusion also is in favor of Ecosport. I do not want something that isn’t well put together and rattles. Have had it enough in my Celerio! However, ride and handling is better in Nexon while dragon engine is simply the better option.

If you look at the FE figures of Ecosport, 10.39 kmpl city and 14 on highways, implies that AT should be around 8.50-9 in city and 13 on highways inline with our previous expectations

I am not a big fan of how Autocar does its reviews and this review seemed like it was videoed to show Tata is unreliable, because at least when I buy a car I buy it for what it is, there will be some imperfections on the way to success and its easy to understand that Tata is just growing and this growth has its rough edges

The other thing to note is after sales and service, thats still not as good as Ford for Tata, something that I personally am not fond of as here in Trivandrum, Tata service definitely is way below par compared to Ford.

The other points I will agree with like mileage, linearity, features, practicality etc, but driving dynamics and ride quality is something I dont trust Renuka on(she once said Mahindra XUV is FUN to drive and Alto a FUN car to drive which I disagree to in big way), thats a sole region I will be judging it for myself, so even though Tata got the advantage here for this in this video and even though Ford was chosen winner, it might not be how decisions end up with buyers, I am trying to take back to back test drives, but never had I got chance to book Test drive on same day.

With petrol being this close,I think Diesel will be a win for Nexon with better engine

I agree. Buyers don’t look at so much technicality while making their decisions. They experience the ‘feel’ and make choices.
However, on the niggles, she isn’t alone. Quite a few reviewers have mentioned that. Collective attack on Tata? Too far fetched, but if true, why?

Yes on diesels, the exact thought came to my mind. Though I’ve not driven Nexon but have had Ecosport diesel in the past. I simply loved its performance but that was against the National engine in the swift. However, I still assume Nexon will do better (going purely my reviews and people’s first drives)

I think the only areas where Nexon is better is the rear seat comfort and the diesel engine
But given reliability, after sales, front seats etc, Ecosport is my pick for sure
Im just waiting for 2018 so that any possible niggles(unlikely) are ruled out
