@akash1886
Thank you for very nice coverage of the ecosport facelift. I have one question though: as you said you are at the launch event, did you ask the ford senior management present at the launch about the titanium S variant? And why there seems to be no news about it during the launch event, even though the S variant was spied here in India sometime back.
Buddy, though there was no formal Q&A there but from the general talks what I heard was that the S-Variant might come in at a later stage. I am guessing the Eco Sport S might follow the footsteps of Aspire S & Figo S as these two were also launched much later.

Re: Ford EcoSport Facelift 2017 Exclusive Spyshots

My wait is finally over provided Ford does not disappoint me by cutting down on features or increasing the price at the time I take delivery.

I booked Ecosport Titanium+ AT today. Have been searching for an ideal city car for long and after considering a host of sedans and SUVs, decided to book Ecosport. Will detail out my search process in the initial ownership section once I take delivery but following were some of my key requirements:

1. Petrol AT
2. All key safety features with 6 airbags
3. Superb ride & handling
4. Easy to drive in city
5. Comfortable for 5 passengers

New Ecosport Titanium+ AT ticked all the boxes except point No 5. After owning a hatchback and sedan, I really wanted a SUV so didn't go for City or Verna.

Dealer: Kavish Ford, Powai
I am in no hurry to take delivery so have requested for a 2018 manufactured Ecosport. Currently only petrol and diesel manual is available for test drive. So between Nov and Dec there are 2 important tasks for me
1. Take test drive of AT
2. Select color - I am thinking of either Lightning Blue or Smoke Grey

Saw Lightning Blue today and I loved it. Hoping some customer books Smoke Grey so that I get to see it soon before I decide

Thankfully they had both Old and New Ecosport on display so got to check them side by side
1. The new one looks much more beefed up and hot than the previous version thanks to the new grill, headlamps and fog lamps
2. Front seats are bigger and comfortable. Could make out the difference when compared with the old one
3. Rear seats supposedly is more comfortable in the new one. Honestly, I could not make out much of a difference
4. Titanium+ has 4 speakers, 2 tweeters and a woofer. Behind the floating screen what you see is a woofer. Sound quality is good (played Radio) and I don't think there is a need for upgrade. One of the person who was checking the car said it was awesome but I thought it was fine and not extraordinary
5. Front arm rest does not slide, its fixed with storage space under it
6. 8" touchscreen is awesome. Nice, crisp, bright and lag free
7. Ambiente lighting is cool
8. Headlamps have a good throw and is bright. Yes it is yellow light and not white (In pictures it will appear white)
9. 17" alloy wheels look good and tyres are beefy unlike the skinny ones offered by Honda
10. Steering wheel is awesome to hold with easy reach for all controls
11. Instrument cluster is bland but something one will have to live with
12. Only front doors have locks. When driver locks his door, even rear passenger doors get locked. They can't open on their own. Also there is speed sensing auto door lock
13. There was full wheel cladding which is great and there was no cost cutting seen here as we see in many cars with No or partial cladding

Re: Ford EcoSport Facelift 2017 Exclusive Spyshots

On road price difference between Nexon and Ecosport comparable variants
For petrol variants its about 57,572 Rs higher for Ecosport
https://www.carwale.com/new/quotati...=bHfvovqHgle9yqamsVG0lpyvOC0dQj4LBUG1a1ixWfg=
For Diesel variants its just Rs 38,170 higher for Ecosport
https://www.carwale.com/new/quotati...=0xC1spQ0hMitCKDYYXFtBGCQLoRa2qzfBUG1a1ixWfg=

Between Brezza and Ecosport its just Rs 2000 more for Ecosport
https://www.carwale.com/new/quotati...=XPdDXkKjD0ilLYQgS9jMDKXWO1oYl+UxBUG1a1ixWfg=

Now after seeing this the pricing of Ecosport seems SUPERB , many may say Nexon is VFM, but not anymore as the Titanium variant of Ecosport easily matches the features and comfort and convenience on offer of its rivals and Titanium+ just makes Brezza and Nexon look under equipped
The Titanium+ although around 1 lakh more than Brezza and 1.81 lakh more than Nexon offer
1. 4 more airbags
2. Tire pressure monitoring system
3. Leather seats
4. 17" allloys
5. Traction control system
6. And an Automatic with paddle shifters and TCS,ESC,

So even though the Titanium+ might seem expensive compared to competition it still is exclusive and has an edge over rivals

Titanium cost almost 70,000 more than the Nexon Petrol XZ+ with almost same features. Also reverse parking camera missing in ES. Am i missing any other important features in the comparison?
As far as Petrol variants with almost every feature on offered, Nexon seems clearly VFM option.

In the link I have shared it shows Titanium vs XZ+ of Nexon Diesel and Petrol,
I found out 54k difference in Petrol variants and 34k difference in Diesel form,
Yes Ecosport misses out on rear view camera agreed, but rest all features are similar,
True in India even 10k matters but what I am trying to say is its not like too over priced or priced way higher than Nexon, its stil within the margin that one would expect
If we are to nit pick there is even more like Tata has a 6 speed vs Fords 5 speed, Tata has Harmon Music system vs Fords Sony powered 4 speaker setup, Tata boot opens upward while Fords side ways one is not more practical, less rear legroom despite wheel being outside car, etc.
But the pricing hasnt gone crazy, I dont see any other car under 18 lakhs on road thats as fully loaded as an Ecosport Titanium+
When a lot of other so called cheap and trustworthy brands like Honda charges over 14 lakhs on road for a fairly loaded City with fearures not even close to Ecosport and Verna too being a good 2 lakhs more, the Ecosport does have a chance to claw customers from multiple segements just like Tata Nexon has, I am not sure whether the exrtra premium of Ecosport will be of everybodys liking as some might not appreciate some finer points in a car like driving dynamics more than how much they save in pocket.
I feel the fight for compact SUV king title has started big time, Brezza will undoubtedly lead sales chart as the badge it holds has too much fans across India. But with this face lift I feel rest of spoils will be equally shared between Ford and Tata.

I completely agree. I am yet to see a facelift without price hikes and this is one! People demanded for a top end AT which so many manufacturers miss. Ford has provided two options of AT for those with limited budgets and those who can afford the full package.

100% agreed. Brezza if we compare on the face of it doesn't have anything substantial as a product in comparison to the new kids on the block. The only survival as of present for Brezza is the brand badge on it otherwise it has an engine that is near to being obsolete and features which have started to feel lesser for the value it commands. Another thing I would like to point here, Brezza began this 2-tone trend in the market and brands like Tata took to 2 tone shades in a very elegant way i.e you won't see Blue Nexon with White roof or Red Nexon with Black Roof which actually looks so much wannabe and on the other hand, Eco-Sport even without all this worthless make up like Brezza, it does get respect and is loved by the owners and enthusiasts alike.

It is possibly the beginning of a new trend. Yet, this is a very brave move by Ford[clap]

TML with Nexon shall follow soon!

Nexon will still come with AMT. Have experienced it on Celerio. Amazing mileage (just couple of points lower than manual) but a bit jerky and never smooth especially 1-2-3 gears. I honestly do not think that someone who is spending a million rupees should go for AMT. If costs are a concern, then opt for a smaller car, why shell out on a costly package? Having said that AMT suits Nexon as it is quite affordable compared to competition and AMT will add to that (usually only about 50k INR premium over manual)

Yes. I booked my Ecosport yesterday by paying booking amount of INR 30k with the instruction that I want a 2018 manufactured car even if I was to get in Feb 2018.

Next year when I get my car allocated is when I pay the entire amount and they will hand over the keys to me.

Not before feb end or march you would be able to get the delivery of next fiscal year manufactured car, also keep in mind that if there are any changes if prices declared by ford you would need to pay that final price.

Please check once again for ES Titanium petrol vs Nexon XZ+ petrol. It almost goes up to 80k if you compare the OTR prices.
Yes i agree that no one can match with Ecosport Titanium+ in terms of features offering on that price range. But i am in the market with 10L budget, and it is going to be tough to finalise between these two variants.
