If Trend+ AT has only PRND then it'll be a problem for inclines where we need higher power. Usually, other cars have an L mode if I remember correctly.
No problem at that, it will have toggle gear selector switches on the gear lever sides, all you need to do is select 1st gear manually with the toggle switch and the gearbox will stay in 1st gear for Inclines. Its kinda similar to Maruti Suzuki AMT cars. There is no L mode. Basically S mode will have the gearbox change gears at a higher RPM. So locking the gear to 1st with manual selection is best.

Akash the Black front grill looks so much better than the chrome one, Any idea what are modes available at the Trend+ Automatic?

Except for the boring MID, the interiors are pretty good. I was always impressed with the build quality of the Ecosport.
What are your thoughts on the pricing?
I am also quite happy with the way the interiors have been worked upon in this one. The doors felt quite strong in terms of the built and as far as the pricing is concerned I believe Ford has done a very good job in maintaining the same price in the new one too. With increased localization i.e now about 85% it could have been much more competitively priced but even for this pricing we should appreciate FORD and if we compare features Vs price in new Eco Sport then also the pricing is justified.

Actually there are chrome accents on the grill its just that the low light and camera flash has made it look like that.

petrol automatic titanium plus is priced too high and does anyone have pictures of trend plus automatic ...???

Overall what I feel is Brezza has become outdated in comparison to the newer competitors like Nexon & Eco-Sport. In terms of Engines & Features indeed it stands nowhere close to either Nexon or to Eco-Sport. Now, to me, the only hope is that MSIL comes up with a bigger engine & better features in Brezza. After seeing the pricing of Ford and earlier in Tata Nexon, I do feel, both of them have made very brave move by giving so many features and good design to interiors & exteriors and yet are able to maintain the VFM tag for their products. I am dead sure, for MSIL it would be very difficult to introduce a new Brezza with price tag of existing Brezza.

Well I have a mixed response in regards to the pricing of the new Ecosport. In one way I am happy that the prices have remained the same but on the other hand was expecting the prices to go down since it has become a 3 cylinder engine now and also the localisation levels are up to 85% or more.[confused]
I was never concerned about the Automatic variants so won't comment on the pricing of those.
I think pricing is good,
I do agree the Nexon has done a big damage to Ecosport and Brezza when it comes to pricing, but there is no need to price Ecosport lower than what it used to be because Nexon has raised its arm, the engine is new, the interior is new, if the infotainment system is same as one in new Endeavor ie SYNC 3 that I have used that infotainment system is far superior to what Tata and Maruti or even Hyundai has to offer, I feel only the Skoda Octavia has a better infotainment system than SYNC 3 in the sub 20 lakhs price range of cars, lot of new changes in exterior and interior as well, and a whole new 6 speed AT thats fully imported from USA makes this a very good pricing strategy,
Regarding how the cars price justifies it on how it drives depends on its competition, we will have to wait for a back to back test drive to see if its really worth the extra.

I dont think so,
The only fully loaded feature rich automatic cars in India under 20 lakhs are just Verna AT and Creta AT and City AT.
All of these are on average 2-3 lakhs more expensive than Titanium + AT of Ford,
The T+ AT of Ecosport is a loaded car, its almost perfect pack for some one who wants convenience and safety and a goood driving car without feature compromise.

Thank you for very nice coverage of the ecosport facelift. I have one question though: as you said you are at the launch event, did you ask the ford senior management present at the launch about the titanium S variant? And why there seems to be no news about it during the launch event, even though the S variant was spied here in India sometime back.
