i hope they dont provide that ecosport sticker on the side, to me, that looks very bad.
Maybe its just for test drive vehicles, we have almost same sticker in a lot of current test drive vehicles as well.
Anyway one thing is certain Ford will price the 1.5 Dragon petrol versions of Ecosport aggressively, they know the diesel will sell good because Indians love diesels but petrols are more difficult to sell, so its said that Ford will market new Dragon and promote it with very low entry level pricing and even higher trims will be priced well,
As per some reports, the top end Titanium 1.5 l Petrol Ecosport manual will cost almost same as top end diesel Nexon, ex showroom, which I believe will be around 9-9.3 lakhs ex showroom, which with new GST and other RTO will amount to around 10. 4-10.8 lakhs on road,
This info was given by a person who is in good contact with a Ford showroom manager,
He also stated that new Ecosport facelift for India has some mechanical difference too from Brazilian spec ones to suit Indian road conditions and wish for smooth ride, so our Ecosport might not be a sharp handler like the Brazilian one[frustration]

not a test mule, actually the person on twitter said that there were 2 such cars, same colour same number standing in that area. looks like some impatient ford company employee or a ford dealer was eager to go around in the updated version.
No, it was not a eager employee or dealer. The picture is in front of Infinity Towers, Gurgaon. They had some sort of ad shoot going on there. Though that was happening during noon to evening on last Saturday.

I hope they launch it with a good price tag soon! I am waiting for this too before deciding between nexon and this car.

It will be coming in mid nov. and prices will be little high than current outgoing model.As per my information dealers have asked for time from ford india ltd. to clear off there stock .

Of course it will be pricey but the point I want to make here is just look at how Ecosport is priced in India compared to all other countries where its launched
In most other countries Ecosport is a rival to cars like CRETA(ix25), Peugeot 2008, Chevrolet Trax, Opel Mokka, Renault Captur, Honda HRV, Nissan Kicks, etc

All these above said competition are in the 15-20 lakhs price range if they are launched in India, its only in India that we get Ecosport in such superb price same is applicable to Endeavor/Everest as well, Ford has priced it cheaper than rest of the world

So what I feel is that although we see Ecosport in the competitive network involving Brezza,Nexon etc its actually a machine based on a far superior platform, the Ford Global B platform
We here look at space and size of vehicle before considering its price, Ecosports Achilles heel is its back seat space, just read the Brazilian reviews of Ecosport vs WRV vs Captur vs HRV vs CRETA etc, in most comparison reviews the Ecosport takes a WIN against its peers despite being smaller inside and despite not being the fastest in a straight line, its the finer parts where the Ecosport has scored like the new 1.5l Dragon engine its power delivery, its refinement, the new SYNC 3 its abilities, the unmistakable Ford DNA in its suspension tuning, SAFETY etc
So I guess price of new Ecosport although a lot more than Nexon if it can deliver an unforgettable driving experience its still worth the extra

Hopefully we are closer to launch. Eagerly waiting.. I am ready to pay 1 to 1.5L more for the facelift. But I hope Ford does not skip all safety features in AT variant. I paid 10K booking amount 2 years back to one of the dealers for AT and cancelled the booking due to concerns with DCT AT. Still have not received refund and asked them to deliver first AT after launch keeping the same booking amount. Once I get Ecosport AT, will sell off my New Honda City AT. Compared to Nexon/Brezza, Ecosport is my choice any day for the safety features and FORD DNA and driving dynamics. Till date I have not seen any vehicle better than my new Ford Fiesta (which I sold sue to night mare with DCT troubles) with respect to driving dynamics (below 20L)and good service experience. I have feeling their AT will be super successful at 13L on road with all the safety features (7 air bags, Hill Hold Assist, ESC) and torque converter AT. Hopefully new Dragon engine has better low end drivability in city.

Ecosport loses out to Creta etc because of cabin space
Similar to how Tiguan and Tucson win against Jeep Compass
Frankly I see Ecosport as a winner overall even before launch
Pricing etc has always been vfm and even if it increases a bit, Im willing to pay more than Brezza and Nexon for a superior product

As per initial reports on Ecosport facift the 6f15 TC AT is far better than DCT in city and its only in flatout acclearation where the DCT is slightly superior, in all other areas the new 6 speed is far superior to DCT whether it be giving optim power when demanded or low speed crawl or downshifts when required and best of all its a TC AT which means anyday more reliable than DCTs, also the rear suspension has been reeorked for a better ride and handling balance as well.
So its going to be a definite improvement over current model. Hope Ford launch this with a sensible price tag, Nexon is hot on its heels , November Diwali is Fords target for launching face lift.

Not just specs the pricing all together is in the Creta,captur category,
The Creta too has no features here in India thats available outside our country but we are ready to pay over 15 lakhs for a Creta,Captur etc
In that sense the Ecosport is cheap here in India

Hey Guys,
Any idea if refreshed Ecosport will come with Diesel AT? I am waiting for ES to launch and will buy one if it comes with Diesel + AT otherwise will buy Nexon. I have put my booking for Nexon on hold and waiting for ES to launch.

Not just specs the pricing all together is in the Creta,captur category,
The Creta too has no features here in India thats available outside our country but we are ready to pay over 15 lakhs for a Creta,Captur etc
In that sense the Ecosport is cheap here in India
But Creta is a size larger than Ecosport and the likes
Ford Kuga is the correct comparison
Going by a couple lakhs difference, Creta is not as overpriced as people want to make it

Creta gets 2.0 diesel option from Tucson abroad
Ecosport also has 2.0 option abroad
