Was the Chevrolet Forrester an import?
I have seen only 2 or 3 so far in Chennai, that too at an importer cars service station.
It was a CBU. There have been cases of GM AfSS not supplying spares on time or not getting spares at all. That's probably why the cars were at an importer's service station.

Yes! Another fact is that standard 2000 was ahead of the ages. Probably too much for an average Indian buyer to afford and own!
Well, these were partly why it flopped, but the actual reason was under the hood. Standard used the 2000cc Vanguard engine mated with a horrible gearbox which were used in CVs before, and hence the 2000 gave terrible FE of 5-6 Kmpl and was a pain to drive.

Even Fiat cars are doing no good in India. Though cannot call them ‘failed’ but unsuccessful for sure.

Yes agree with AMG that Ford Fiesta seems to be a flaw in the market,in fact did not see even one in Bangalore!(er you know bangalore is flooded with cars).
Logan is not a flaw model for cab-market in fact you see lot of them as airport cabs and taxis, mainly because its fuel efficient.
Versa was really good car and the main reason for its flaw was that it was priced above 5 lakhs and high mileage made it get down to its knees
But i'll tell you its one hell of a performer(though a van it had the real BHP) and being an ex-owner of that i really miss him.
Innova too was flawed when it was released because the Quailis was selling in great numbers and heard it had some issues connected with with KA Transport committee.
So,they stopped the Qualis which made us to buy Versa.

Before anybody pounces on me, let me clarify that I compare only sales numbers with respect to the respective segment leaders. Some cars are for a niche market & they are not made to set sales charts on fire anyways, so I have not included them.
