Re: Exclusive! Ford EcoSport Makes Global Premiere (Pre-Launch Coverage: Pg.83)
So, many pics already uploaded and emotions and views shared. I am here to do the same. I was out of station, that is why got late in posting it. Following is my experience:
Firstly, thanks to Raja for posting the great review earlier in these posts as for me it looked like I am watching the car second time because earlier he described it so well with pictures.
We all agree that exterior is awesome and need no discussion.
Coming to the interiors,
Starting with dashboard, it is very clean and user friendly, here in Delhi the car showcased didn’t have the Push Start/Stop button, but the executive told that the top model that will be supplied will have it for sure.
There is a storage space as well as back adjustable for the back seat passengers(the black strip in the pic) and chargeable point for the back passenger behind driver only. Back seats are in 60:40 Split.
The boot space is decent enough to carry bulk luggage say 3-4 bags.
Now the seating space—
At Rear-
The most disappointing for me as I would want a perfect 5 seater is that this is a Great 4 seater. Fitting five would be tough task for long drives
. You get shoulders rubbing each other in case of 3 at rear. But still I doubt that why it couldn’t fit 3 at rear as most cars does these days, I would like to explore more on this.
The doubt over leg space is really something not to be doubted because it got ample space for legs to rest and stretch both at front as well as at rear.
In the second pic the front seats are totally pushed back, BUT according to me NO ONE will be able to drive with driver seat fully pushed back that is not practical in this car. (I think you all should know my height while reading this as this impacts a lot, it is 5 feet 11 inches). So really saying, you cannot drive with seats fully pushed back for a person of my height. Still, if you guys want to know the space left after completely pushed back, then I will say it will rub against the back of front seat. But for me this is not the factor to worry.
Now when the seats are pushed in front it gives ample of leg room and ample means really comfortable as this is also supported by a good back support plus your back support is also adjustable. Pic 3 and Pic 4 shows normal driving position, it will give you good enough space at rear to rest. It is not at all a problem.
Now, the front seats
Again good enough leg room, makes you comfortable, driving position is good, makes everything visible easily in front of you. Steering gives you a cool, confident, sporty feel with almost everything on your fingertips. Functions/features are easily accessible while driving. Gear placement is also appropriate and you won’t feel lazy in changing them, you also got the arm rest for driver seat. ABC placements are also appropriate and your legs won’t be stressed jumping from one pedal to other.
What I didn’t like in front was following-
The area of seat to be seated is bit less, thigh support is not much at front and not very comfortable. It is OK but not much comfortable.
Secondly, for the co-passenger you do not have much space to widen your legs i.e. your feet do not find way, width wise (this is purely what I felt, sitting in co-passenger seat and I do not sit much here. I mostly have driving position) (check last pic for this)
Displayed model was Petrol.
I think review will be helpful for some people here.
For me major drawback is that it is Best for Four and not for Five
, rest is GREAT.
I think problem is width wise and not length, I can say it will have a good wheelbase.
Regarding price the executive told that he can only say that you won’t be disappointed looking at price.
Thanks and Njoy
