Yes me too but still I have my fingers crossed you never know what ford can do with the pricing . Like you the ES is seriously in my buying list .

Ford says that the Ecosport would undercut Duster SUV in pricing. But are they refering to the 85PS model or the 110PS model ?If they are refering to the 110PS model the pricing would be similar to fiesta sedan. But the only hope is that Ford does have the Ertiga in mind while pricing its little SUV.

Guys, does the Ecosport does come with DRL's? Whatch this video and it does look stunning. Wish Ford does provide DRL's in Indian spec Ecosport as well, if not in all variants at-least in the top spec variant.
My personal opinion is that Ecosport is way ahead of its competitors and looks like a leap ahead in quality, design, fit and finish.

Please watch the video completely and at the 11minutes mark you will see the Ecosport with DRL's with all other exciting features. I have started to imagine that Ford will have DRL's in the Indian Ecosport as well.

The Ford EcoSport is expected to be one of the significant launches to take place next year and the Dearborn-based auto giant will be rolling out the compact SUV in February 2013 from its Maraimalainagar plant in Chennai.

Mr. Joe Hinrichs, President of Asia-Pacific and Africa, Ford Motor Company, Mr. Michael Boneham, MD of Ford India and Mr. Joginder Singh, Executive director of Ford Business Services, met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. J.Jayalalithaa yesterday and invited her to launch the EcoSport in February.
The Ford supremos informed the CM that the company will recruit around 1,200 employees within one year for their Chennai manufacturing plant and Coimbatore business services center. The current workforce of Ford India stands at around 5,200 employees.
Ford India was established in 1995 at Chennai during Ms. J.Jayalalithaa’s term as CM and the company is in the process of expanding its Indian operations by setting up a factory in Sanand, Gujarat.
The EcoSport SUV is a sub-four metre vehicle just like the Mahindra Quanto and allows the manufacturer to price it effectively. The car is already on sale in Brazil and will be launched in China shortly.
Ford will not manufacture the 1L Ecoboost engine at the Chennai plant anytime soon. However, the 1.5L diesel engine, hugely important from the customer preference perspective, will be localized in Chennai. Spyshots of test mules in India show that Ford is packing the EcoSport with technologies such as SYNC, Ecoboost, Powershift, etc.
The Mahindra Quanto will enjoy the first mover’s advantage in the compact SUV segment, but Ford India can make use of Quanto’s sales performance as a case study and come up with an appropriate pricing strategy.

The way Raja is following up with ecosport, I think he may well be 1st owner of ES on TAI.

BTW, did you read above that Ford won't make eco-boost engine. It will be diesel only.

Don't know why, but I feel Ford will mess up in pricing. Hope I am wrong. The interiors are better than new Fiesta, platform is shared so......[thinking]

Great to hear an official word from Ford India regarding when Ecosport is going to land on the Indian soil.
Pricing is all that matters for deciding the fate of Fords SUV baby. That 'P' is going to decide on where Ford EcoSport would be heading to !

Hey friends you know I feel something funny when I read the threads Storm and this back to back, in both the threads the only worry is pricing !! but there is a complete difference as Ecosport launch and its features and others looks very promising till now where as the other thread of Storm is struggling just without any information on the vehicle

Yes again if Ford prices it smartly then, it can really steal the customers from everywhere !! I am also eager to see one in flesh very soon !!

I do doubt the same. Considering the expected feature lists I am not able to co-relate the price with the product.
I am of the opinion that Fiesta sedan didn't catch much sales numbers because of the wrong variant fixation . Are Ford going to do the same again and disappoint us ?

What would be approximate price in India, any guesses? I feel that it will be around 10 lacs, because it shares many things with new fiesta and Fiesta is already highly priced..
