Ertiga Mileage Details By All Ertiga Owners!

Yeah i had my 2nd service done on November 9 might be,and from that time the improvement is about +2/3 kms,previous to service it was giving be around 11 in city and highways,where now it has drastically improved all the way.
One more thing improved was my gear shift become so easy,it was hard previous to that.
Another point to be held was change in my driving pattern,what i called little tuning on my self.
=Stopped revving it too hard
=gear change about 1500/2000 rpm
=sedate one lane driving with light foot on accelerator.

Now on highways it is giving me around 15/16,B2B traffic giving around 13/14.

Rather even after driving some 240kms,i have half tank left.

Service:
Regular second Service.
Wheel alignment
Air filter cleaning
washing,Interior washing.
All water,oil,batter check up.
Upholstery cleaning

Oil change was done but still no improvement.But the car has not yet completed 2000kms

I think the mileage is low due to less usage.

The LXi doesn't have a tachometer

Tachometer is one serious disadvantage in LXI,but it doest not matter to those wid petrol according to me.But it can be one of Your Mission DIY .

Which Oil you have changed to Synthetic,or mineral?

Have you installed 2nd row AC?

My petrol car opened after 3 k kilometers,and after 4k kilometers started me giving good FE.
Now currently car above 4.5k,And the MID is rock solid at 15 kmpl,even when i try to push it in traffic.

Using Synthetic oil right now.

The car is driven rarely on weekends.I guess the more it runs the more the FE will increase.Highway running has been very less and the car needs to be driven more.

Even mine is running on weekends,and sometimes a week.I think you should make it a primary car for some months ,i know size matters even i have suffered.

I don't use the 800 as much either.Public transport is the preferred mode of transportation.The cars get used on weekends etc.

To tell you the truth I find driving the Ertiga in traffic much easier than the 800.The little one without PS is hard to manoeuvre at low speeds.With the big one I have to only be worried of bikers and ricks.The Ertiga has a lot of blind spots.

Ertiga driving in traffic is much easier than a non PS one,but strict no narrow roads for it.Still would love a small car to squeeze through traffic..But somewhat this car it has became my addiction.

About blind spot,true buddy it has lots of blind,which i hate.

It is obvious you cannot take the Ertiga in gullis and stuff given the length and width.

hi Guys yestertday done a tank full,calculated last FE.
Fuel:Petrol
Kilometers done:4735(now)
Trip (after last refill) :398kms

Driving style:75% Sedate and 25% Quick
Load:100 kms with 8 people onboard Rest with 4/3 people on board
AC:100%
Road:70% highway and 30% city.


Petrol filled:27 ltrs
Trip done: 398
FE:14.74 km/l

Not that i am not slow in traffic but also not too fast,what you can call me moderate.

But surprise still awaits thought of driving without AC,done 35 kms trip.
With Reset avg fuel consumption meter.

It touched whooping 18.4kmpl. though surprise,I am definitely proud of owning a Ertiga.
And maruti slogan " Kitna deti hai?" Yes i am obsessed with mileage..

I'm getting 15-16kmpl always in city with 100% AC! Calculating by tank fill method!
I think only a few hatchbacks can achieve this efficiency!

I get 22-24kmpl with my M800.

20/22 kmpl for Petrol maruti ertiga is not possible at all,but you can expect something 17/18 in very rare condition.

Those i think were the limits i pushed through,that because i wanted to check whats maximum on petrol.These value seems to be unrealistic,that Avg consumption was after reset near fuel station,it was the sole driven without AC,with Speed of 70/80.So i am on mission FE.

Another thing advantage of large engine you can cruise at 80/100 with merely 2 k on Rpm,thats why it gives more mileage on highways.That's the reason i am fast as well as economical.

BTW i never worried about FE in any of my previous cars,even sometimes my omni was giving me 13/14 kmpl was satisfied with it,but here this MID is playing with me.

At last trip where i got 14.74 avg,where 60% driven by me,30% by dad and 10 % by friend.Later 2 were not like me.

@jarpickle after you said you have changed your oil at first service that's getting me on nerves,why didn't i changed the oil on first service.Next time 3rd service oil change would be mandatory.
Thinking of changing Air filter too Maruti recommend 20k kms?what do you think?

You can change the oil and filters when you want.I change it every 5000kms/1 year.

Speed was 80 to 100km/hr. I have noticed in my last drive to pune which is about 360kms i drove at constant speed on 80kms and did not exceed 80. I got an impressive avg of 22.50 Km/Ltr.

I am very Happy with the performance.
