Ertiga Mileage Details By All Ertiga Owners!

Actually i never drove above 100 kmph till 1200 kms,but after that we cant control the urge to push beyond 100kmph. Though my dad who is a steady and wise driver,was also pushing to limits.
Regarding petrol engine,it loves to be revved,after trip i noticed that engine noise is much more suppressed that's what you said engine settles to best position.
3rd gear is like automatic anything between 20-80kmph,true said by any one from this forum.

Yes even I observe the same on my ZXi. In 3rd gear you can drive like an automatic.
Mine is now around 3100 KM on ODO. I drove 70-90 KMPH for the first 1500 KM, then always 90-100 KM.

I am getting around 12 - 14 KMPL with AC on, in the city. (Depends on traffic)

Off topic : - During my last drive on Mumbai-Pune Expressway, I drove around 90 - 100 KMPH for more then 20-30 KM. The AC was also ON full time. Then I observe a smell inside the car like tyre / rubber burning smell. I did not install AC filter in my car. The AC was in re-circulation mode.

Is this normal?

But no issue on the car was observed. Car drives like as it is.

Yes even I observe the same on my ZXi. In 3rd gear you can drive like an automatic.
Mine is now around 3100 KM on ODO. I drove 70-90 KMPH for the first 1500 KM, then always 90-100 KM.

My Luv is also at 3100kms,wow.In city it is giving around 13-15kmpl,i did not calculated.Our LUV has touched max speed of 145 kmph by my dad between pune kolhapur ,and me around 125 kmph.The car just loves to be revved hard and harder,but rising petrol prices are giving shocks!! So back to basics.

About smell,there might be possibility that you may have left windows open,due to that some external smell was observed,or your AC might be in fresh air mode,other possibilities cannot be neglected.

Even i have ac filter when i turn on Fresh air,foul smell thrown sometimes,for me AC filter is of no use,i am lot comfortable with re circulation mode,whenever fresh air,open windows straight away.

Ertiga is the best VFM car among the MUV.
For a petrol car of this size the mileage is excellent. I LUV my LUV... :)

Yes, there might be the left window open for a while. But the smell was not last for 2-3 mins

I will check again this issue.

And this time i checked the air leak issue from front quater glass.
My car do not have that issue and no sound on 100-120 KMPH speed.

My dear LUV boy gives me great 15-16kmpl in Coimbatore city traffic and If you maintain constant speeds on highways, it gives above 20kmpl! Mine gave 21.5kmpl at constant 100kmph during my trip to Chennai and around 22 at 60kmph constant drivings and 99% AC switched on!
I havent had any kind of issues with my LUV boy and has been smooth and quiet even at 120kmph! Best LUV-MUV and ideal Indian family car!

This is my second post even though I do not miss reading any of the reviews on ertiga in TAI.

I do own a ertiga VDI 2012 model.

I had travelled quite a lot on this diwali weekend and hence wanted to update the mileage.

filled full tank in Ramamurthy nagar bangalore for 2100(36.5ltrs approx)

Travelled .. Bangalore-chennai-chengalpet-chennai-tiruchy-srirangam--> total distance 750 kms.. so i got around 20.855 km/lt.

The best part is most of the time i was cruising at >120 km/hr. few kms ate 160.

Im very happy with my buy.

90bhp MJD is the best performer on the highway.

Please do not let the fuel to get empty till fuel low light indicator starts glowing. This is not advisable to empty the fuel tank to a very low level as fuel pump may not take it positively.
I am not expert, but please goggle it. Refill it when it reaches a level of quarter tank.

Fog lamp throw will not be that wide and high, better upgrade to 90/110 main headight using some relay, It will cost you around 1400.

Let the fog lamp run on stock bulbs.

Yeah, upgradation to high power tubes is better option, and don't forget to use relay...I am using philips tubes with relay in my zen and the illuminatin is awesome

They change engine oil i guess.
