I have a Petrol Lxi done 1600kms in six months and I get 12-14 kmpl mileage with full AC usage.

As you can see, our usage is very little and hence petrol makes more sense since the maintenance costs are lower.Diesel makes more sense if you use the car as a daily driver.This has very well been explained by mahii on page 1.

Coming to your zen, get the compression test done.You may be looking at an engine rebuild if you have not done that already.

Why not just start a new thread in the technical section.I think the PM option is disabled till you complete 15-20 posts on the forum.

Do you see any improvement in the mileage you are getting on your Ertiga ZDI?
Are you getting close to 19 KMPL on highways?

Our office has a Ertiga ZDI. Has done 15k kms till now.

Driver reports 17-19kmpl in city and over 20-21kmpl in highways with AC on most of the time.

I remember that i returned almost 23kmpl during our office trip to Horsely hills.

Inside city, it always plys between Banjara hills and Secunderabad (bumper to bumper traffic at peak hours)

How was the FE calculated?What method was used.

mileage of 23 KMPL is awesome for Ertiga ZDI [clap]
i have heard people not even getting this mileage in Swift D'zire too

Trip distance:1400kms (1100kms highway,300kms sub highways/ghats/city roads)

Load:8 persons and luggage on top.
Full time AC.
FE:15.5(tank full method)/15 (Gauge display)
Cruising speed:90/130 km/h

Falling in Love with LUV.

wow 8 persons in a LUV and still managed to get 15kmpl. BW did you feel the engine was breathless of the load (8person with roof luggage) with AC on?

Never did i felt out of breath,i have a video,will try to upload it, where my ertiga did a climb on phonda ghat with AC on,8 people avg weight of 65kg,wow.....few days back i was complaining about low FE,now appreciating, [clap],now my car is close to 3000 kms,.
Even once with 6 adults and 3 children ,when i need to do a reverse climb on steep ghat,in night because 2 ST transport bus came in front of me on narrow road where even when passing 2 cars needs stop.
I was in situation to reverse ertiga on steep climb on road and then push in the corner.I thought it might run out of breath,but no it did not,but managed to climb.I was quite surprised.

Though throughout the trip i pushed it through every type of road,but did not put me down any where,U turn at tight spot,was way easy.Now ertiga is not a big car for me.

Hey Patkar nice to hear that it pulled well with 8 people on board. Regarding the FE it takes 2500kms initaly for any car to set its engine components to settle well. During that phase always drive with in 50kms speed. After that the FE will raise and settle at best position.

Actually i never drove above 100 kmph till 1200 kms,but after that we cant control the urge to push beyond 100kmph. Though my dad who is a steady and wise driver,was also pushing to limits.[evil]
Regarding petrol engine,it loves to be revved,after trip i noticed that engine noise is much more suppressed that's what you said engine settles to best position.
3rd gear is like automatic anything between 20-80kmph,true said by any one from this forum.
