2. The plastic piece on top of the speedometer makes noise- probably needs padding.
Singhji get a double sided tape, remove the top cover and put it there in a few places and put the top cover back. Common XUV thingy [:D]

Glad that they are replacing under warranty [clap]

Looking at the crack one can easily say, thats not happened because some stone hit it.
Yes they are. I was totally adamant that i am not paying it from my pocket.

Re: DRACO - Mahindra XUV500 W8: Ownership Review (20,000 Kms Achieved)

I called my RM last evening to get the status of my vehicle. So the service was done by the time.

But the windshield had not arrived by that time. But it would have arrived 1 hour after that and i'll get my car back today.

Also i was feeling that the engine noise had increased a little bit which i had told the RM to look into. So he told me that it was due to loose tensioner which has been replaced under warranty.

Will be updating more once DRACO is back.

Re: DRACO - Mahindra XUV500 W8: Ownership Review (30,000 Kms Achieved)

I haven’t been active from last one year since I was involved too much in other activities like family, business etc. And wedding bells rang for me this February as well[:)]. So was kind of occupied with lot of stuff. But I used to visit the forum though and keep an eye on what’s going on here.

Now let’s get to business, DRACO is almost closing to 60,000 on the ODO. To be more precise it stands at 59200. Will be going for the 60K service probably in the first week of May.

Also did a road trip in Feb. from Moradabad – Delhi – Udaipur – Mt. Abu – Jodhpur – Delhi – Moradabad. Total distance covered was 2200 kms. Driving in Rajasthan is always too much fun as the roads are superb. The speedometer needle touched 180 mark with ease – (Just touched and came back to normal speed).

Now let’s talk about the 50,000 km service.
Complaints:
1. Khat khat kind of sound emerged right before the vehicle was due for service when driving through a pothole patch.
2. Screeching noise while braking.
3. One of the headlight bulb went kaput.
4. Light noise of rubber beadings of the doors when driven on pot hole patches.

Service Bill: Rs 12,900/-

Issues Resolved:
1 – Stablizer bar bushes changed – Rs 146.
2 - Rear barke pads changed – Rs 4700
3 – Buld changed – Rs 260
4 – Greasing and oiling done.

And I had already got my front brake pads changed at 48365 kms and the total amount was Rs. 5032/-

Does anyone know whats the price for the JK Elanzo tire that used to come with the initial batches in XUV?

Attaching the bill for front brake pads, if someone needs it.

Ok so i visited JK Tyre yesterday while i was coming back to Gurgaon from Faridabad.

There is a good deal going on JK tyres that came with the first batch.

There is 25% discount going on right now and after discount one tire costs Rs 7500.

I will be changing my tires soon. My spare tire is almost new, so if i buy 3 elanzo tires it will only cost me around 22K. But if i go for other brands than it will cost me about 45-46K for four tires.

Sirji i wouldnt recommend them, the stock bridgestone lasts twice as much as the JK!
However these tyres squeal at the slightest push - i would suggest go for something much better than stock. This will improve both ride and handling in XUVs.

I know one thing for sure that it will definitely reduce the tire noise [:D]

I'm generally Happy with the stock J.K. s.
I've done 40k kms. zero punchures. minimal road and brake noise.
also the thread looks overall better than bridgestone.

however ill recommended none of above tyres for an upgrade. xuv deserves some proper AT tyres like yokohama geolander or even Apollo hawkz if you're in a budget.

I don’t have any experience of JK Elanzos on XUVs but did have them on my ‘Scorp’. The premature hardness + noise = gotten rid of them even when it had significant rubber left on them. A set of new Yokohama Geos made a world of difference to both the ride and performance.

I won’t compromise on the quality of Tyres. I have seen people blaming their vehicles for the uncomfortable and bumpy ride, overlooking the crappy and hard rubber underneath.

Do check out if there any deal on offer on Michelin Latitude Tour HP, assuming your drive is mostly on highways.

Bridgestone - Rs 12500/- pr tire
Bridgestone (At dealership) - Rs 13000/- per tire
Apollo - Rs 11000 per tire
JK Tire - Rs 7500 per tire

DRACO is at 59500 and at this kind of ODO the orignal tires make a lot of noise. i'll post pics of my tires.

+1 to that.

I use the car for both highway and city drives. My office is almost 40 kms one way from my home. Gurgaon to Delhi.

I guess i might need a new ride soon as we are falling short of one car in the family coz DRACO is gulping lot of miles.

Unless you go off-road often, they should suffice. Do check out some options for XUV for reference. You may call local dealers for deals/offers.
Buy Car Tyres For Mahindra XUV 500 W6 / W8 / W8 AWD At Lowest Prices :: TyreOnWheels.Com

please enquire Yokohama geolander AT before proceedings. used 2 sets on my safari. the quality is unmatched.
Is there Geolanders available for the XUV specifications/size ?
