Re: DRACO - Mahindra XUV 5OO-W8: Ownership Review

Hi singh890,
Apologies for joining in late. I went through your review and it was very detailed and informative. I am planning to buy the beast next month and would look forward for guidance from you and fellow XUV owners like bhvm, Iron rock and others. My apologies again for not mentioning the names of other deserving XUV owners as I am new to this forum. By the way congrats for your ride buddy.

So guys here's the pic of the windshield. You can see the damage with the red line going up. The red arrow shows the point of impact (most probably a stone hit).

I called my insurance guy yesterday (I have zero dep insurance) and he told me to go to any M&M dealer and get it replaced. I will have to pay around 1.5-2K which includes file charge and some clause fees and that's about it. Rest the insurance will take care off.

Appreciate your help. Yes I have pretty much made up my mind on the white colour but my wife is very inclined on the grey colour. Need to see who wins eventually. In any case I need your advice and guidance since I am graduating from Swift to an SUV directly. I will let you know of any further developments as and when it happens.

awaiting your beast!
Grey is a maintaince free colour (relatively )however I feel it makes the 'cheetah face' less aggressive. the black grille and honeycomb inserts don't stand out as much. you could go white or also look at nee arctic blue colour. it's very rare and looks stunning if you can stand the black interiors.

Singh, Hope you don't mind if I post this in your thread.

Re: DRACO - Mahindra XUV 5OO-W8: Ownership Review

Got the windshield changed for my DRACO from the dealer itself.

Gave my car on 23 Sep morning and got it back next day in the evening as promised by the dealer. The process was pretty smooth.

I called my dealer 2 days before and took an appointment for the same. They told me that i will have to leave my car for 2 days if i get the windshield replace through insurance and if i get it replace by cash than i would get the car same day in the evening. I asked them why so?
So my RM said that if i get it changed through insurance then first of all the insurance surveyor will come and check the damage than the body shop guys will go ahead and replace the windshield. And the car will release only when they will receive DO from the insurance guys. So 2 days and sometimes it may take upto 3 days as well.

Total amount = Rs 13999 /-
Amt from my side = Rs 2022 /-

Bill attached below with the cost break up.

@singh that looks good, but it is better to check tank full to tank full method which accurate to compare with MID

that is decent fe.

there's an error of 0.7 to 0.9 between mid and tank full method. the mid is always displaying higher FE.
kindly confirm the offset.

on my last trip, real fe was only 13.(tank method )

I did check with tank full method and there I got 14.6 kmpl. This is the second time that my MID shows bit less than the actual mileage. But it's just a difference of .2 to .3.
And similarly once the MID was displaying 13.7 kmpl whereas from tank full to tank full method I got only 13.2 kmpl so i always do this calc whenever I fill up my tank.

But overall I am happy with the FE[:)]

Re: DRACO - Mahindra XUV 5OO-W8: Ownership Review

Finally DRACO crosses the 20k mark just before 1 year of ownership.

Couldn't give it for service at 20K as i had to go to Jaipur for some work. Came back yesterday and gave it for servicing today morning around 9:15 AM and should get it back between 2-3 PM.

Will post the details once i get my car back.
