But here in this case attendant will not be benefited instead the owner will be. Normally in company owned pump, calibration tampering will not happen.

Is there anyway to find a list of company owned outlets ?

Alternatively can anyone suggest a company owned outlets in Connaught Place area in New Delhi.

A little goggling can give detail about the COCO fuel pump near the desired place.

I recent found this on FB Page which I am sharing.

Live case...Customers being openly looted at fuel bunks in bangalore.....Indian Oil Petrol pump at JP nagar.Hymaesh petrol pump...."i asked for Rs 1000 petrol and aftwr 700 one staff came with cc bill to be signed...the moment i moved my eyes to sign d bill saw 1000on the pump screen....i was baffled as 4 ltrs oil cannot be pumped in a second......i chalanged the staff and he tried convincing but on insisting, i was able to get the meter receipt which proved jus Rs731 petrol being given...this is a rampant practice at petrol pumps in bangalore and would reccommend al to be careful.....in case of doubt pls ask for the receipt from the meter ( reference attached)...pls share this so that more people get aware if such cheating....will take this up wih Indian Oil too...

How we can over come this. Immediately the owners make sure that it prints the same amount in both places.

Another instance of being careful, and probably true for any kind of shops while paying from card is to double check the amount being keyed on for the credit card payments. I have friends who had petrol bunk guy keying in 10000 instead of 1000 and by the time receipt reaches you, the money is already paid. My friend had to face quite a number of followups by the time he got his money back.

Also in case you are over charged, (e.g 10000 instead of 1000) merchants have power to make that transaction VOID by making an entry to (-)10000. Not many people know this.

Yeah we do get the message but until then the transaction is already complete.

The information on making transaction void is really helpful. My friend and even I were unaware of this. A good learning for the day

Hey anushman, that is great info to be shared. Is there anytime limit for that. For example due to urgency you have not noticed it at the time of sighing the card receipt at vendor's place. And most of the time the message comes little bit late also. Assume I notice this only after reaching home and the time is already up and I will be able to go to vendor only by next day. Even in that case also can vendor make a negative transaction to void the wrong one?

Well, frankly speaking I do not know the time limit for same. Maybe 24 hours or end of day. I have done it twice and both times it was done immediately after original transaction was done.
I have used the facility as late as last month also so its 100% foolproof.

Hi everyone. The image showed above is really a shocker. Even I have been duped a few times for 50-100 rs at many petrol pumps across Pune. No matter how careful you are, they always find a way. We should all be very careful about these thugs and should never get distracted by any activity while petrol is filled.
What I observed many times is that the guy who collects money comes from other side of pump and tries to distract you. My quick fix, I don't take out my wallet until the fuel is filled and cap closed.

Not all dispensers give printed bill, only most modern ones have them. Also these attendants sometimes make excuses like, no paper, no ink etc.

Well, technically, the reversal can be done anytime later. But those guys will surely have their own illogical logics to fool you further, or even sell something else for the amount which is already swiped (not to loose business right).

If I was told that reversal is not possible, I would ask for cash in return. Simple!
