I would have expected tata to come up at number 3. It was shocking for them to come down to number 4 after going up to number 2.
But the real test would be for the storme.
Also tata were running some discounts last month. Will that continue too?
Discounts are 40,000 exchange bonus, free insurance even today and whatever else you haggle with the dealer and I think they will continue this atleast till strome launch and maybe even further .

This is indeed good considering all their cars are in petrol. Had there been diesel portfolio, sales would have been atleast 20-25% more.

Guys I don't know about Tata and Mahindra but yes the progress of Hyundai seems to be giving nightmares to Maruti Suzuki.
How is Hyundai giving nightmares to Maruti ?

Maruti Sales numbers for July 2012 is 71,024 units inspite of their problems last month.

Hyundai domestic Sales in July 2012 is 27,585 units.

Hyundai is not very far from TATA Motors Sales of 26240 units.

Compared to July 2011,
Hyundai Sales increased by 7.58%

Maruti Sales increased by 6%

Mahindra Sales increased by 27%

TATA Motors Sales increased by 53%

(All are domestic sales figures)

Honda numbers probably are not that good. They sold about 10,000 cars in May and now its only 4,000 in July. They are comparing with quarterly figures of last year and last year was historically bad for them (tsunami, nuclear disaster in Japan, flood in Thailand). Probably a ploy to play with numbers and try make the bad news a little more palatable.
Went to the HASS a few months back and was told that they are stopping servicing on Sundays. Probably thought it was a HR initiative at that point in time, but now seems like a cost cutting measure.

sad to see nano doing below 6K,where as the market leader Alto does more than 20K which is priced higher which has lesser space.
Alto just runs for it's brand, flexibility and to me its way better than a nano, you cant compare things with only one perspective right?

Alto does more than 20K which is priced higher which has lesser space.
i don't think so buddy, who gives you an aircon and power steering for that price?

As Jayadev rightly pointed out, these foolish and arrogant dealers at Tata makes the situations worse, in fact only concorde motors(which is Company owned) gives better backup.

The upcoming Elantra with Diesel motor will only enhance it's sales number.
Yes they have been quite aggressive in last few years. And with this Fluidic design these cars looks reallly cool, pleasing to eye. And good interiors as well. And with country with herds mentality no one looks at soft suspensions and bad highway handling and not forget legacy issue of steering rattling. But buy these cars blindly.[lol]. But saying this, it does not take away the credit from hyundai to gett segments cars in India right from small hatches to premium segment. They are all over. Maruti is yet to be a success in premium segment.
