What really has gone wrong?
Policies by morons sitting in Delhi which has led to high inflation & money in hands of unwanted. [frustration]

When Rs.32/day is sufficient to survive as per Montek Singh Ahluwalia/economic policy advisers, what more can we expect from such people ? [anger]

Yes, M&M has overtaken TATA this time, gaining the 3rd position... inspite of having lesser models than TATA. The first two being Maruti and Hyundai. I was expecting M&M to beat TATA some day or the other but I will wait for a few more months to say that M&M has actually challenged TATA.

The top 5 cars are Alto, Swift, Dzire, Bolero and Nano.

Sales figures of the UVs -

Sumo Gold + Grande + Victa = 2125
Bolero = 9584

As I could see a lot of Sumo GOLDs these days, I was thinking that these figures would rise to atleast the 5k mark. But Sumo still has a long way to go to touch the king of UVs.

Xylo = 2370
Ertiga = 6802

Eritga simply stormed this segment. A big opportunity lost by Toyota by not launching the Avanza. Xylo sales have not been affected by the Ertiga and it is the least popular Mahindra. We can say - a chink in Mahindra's armor!

Scorpio = 4269
Safari = 552

Scorpio continues to shine and has been continuously selling 4-4.5k units every month. I guess the Bolero, Scorpio and XUV trio has managed to take Mahindra ahead of TATA.

Innova = 6710
Aria = 67
XUV5OO = 3471

Innova remains the king of this segment. The Eritga did nothing to affect it. The XUV continues to sell in great numbers despite bookings being limited. The Aria, as usual, is on it's way to extinction.

Well i know that Scorpio is usually ahead of Safari when it comes to numbers but i think that the delay of Strome has affected a lot here:
1. Many customers who are are planning to buy Safari are waiting for the Strome
2. Many customers just gave up the waiting time and were really pissed off and decided to go for Scorpio.

German luxury car manufacturer Audi has reported that it has sold 4000 cars during January to June, 2012. This represents a 43 percent growth in comparison to the corresponding period last year, when it sold 2802 cars.

Its sales for June 2012 stand at 718 cars over 408 cars for June 2011, a jump of 76 percent. Audi claims that the Q3 SUV was an important factor in its sales growth, with 500 bookings recorded in five days. In response to the demand, Audi has now reopened bookings for an additional 500 cars.

GM India records sales of 7364 vehicles in June 2012 General Motors India has sold 7364 vehicles in the month of June 2012. The June sales include 5236 units of Chevrolet Beat, 741 units of Chevrolet Tavera, 614 units of Chevrolet Spark, 557 units of Chevrolet Cruze and 181 units of Chevrolet Aveo.
Balendran, Vice President, General Motors India, said, “Although Chevrolet Beat recorded highest monthly sales, overall market continues to remain sluggish. In our case, substantial orders of Chevrolet Tavera are pending due to supply constraints on account of workers strike at vendor's end. With market sentiments continuing to remain depressed, we are not expecting the market to show any remarkable improvement before the festival season.”

As per ACI, top executive of parent company (i.e. Fiat) who looks after operation in India has been changed and winds of change may blow soon. Fiat is now mulling about a Ertiga rival based on Fiat 500 platform.

Without new launches, there is hardly any business sense to continue in India.

Top 5 cars are Maruti Alto, Swift, Dzire, Wagon R and Mahindra Bolero. There is a reason why Maruti is known as the No. 1 manufacturer of India!

Sumo + Victa + Grande - 2367

Xylo - 2228
Ertiga - 5400

Scorpio - 3621

Bolero's continuous run may surprise many but a short stay in Northern Indian (Haryana in particular) will clear any doubts.

IMHO there are two constant source of demands for Bolero:

1. Young farmers/small businessman in this part very much like to project the 'Rowdy Rathore'/Dabang side of them and Bolero is the most cost effective and appropriate choice. As compared to Bolero, Sumo looks too sedate. Also until arrival of Sumo Gold, there was not any suitable product in the price range of Bolero.

2. As departmental vehicle in many Govt./PSUs. These vehicle are hired for two- three years and mostly on the basis of L-1 criteria (lowest cost of hiring). There was not any alternative to Bolero till Sumo Gold.

Another seasonal source of demand is during election period. Reason is obvious.
