Tata Motors January sales up 15% yoy
Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in January 2011 were 75,423 vehicles, a growth of 15% over 65,478 vehicles sold in January 2010.
The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for January 2011 were 70,475 nos., 13% growth over 62,202 nos. sold in January last year.
Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 642,416 nos., a growth of 29% over 498,109 nos. sold last year.
Maruti Suzuki January sales cross 1mn mark
In January 2011 sales were up 23.8% in A2 and 32.6 per cent in A3 segment. In C segment, company recorded a growth of 27.7%.

General Motors January sales up 6%
General Motors India has registered a growth of 6% in sales in January 2011, compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 9984 units in January 2011 against 9421 units in January 2010. The January 2011 sales comprised 3272 units of the Chevrolet Spark, 3345 units of Chevrolet Beat, 1691 units of the Chevrolet Tavera, 715 units of the Chevrolet Cruze, 243 Units of Chevrolet Aveo, 331 units of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, 296 units of Chevrolet Optra and 91 units of the Chevrolet Captiva.
Hyundai India January sales up 2.4%
Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter continued to grow at a steady pace with domestic sales growing at 2.4 % for the month of January, 2011. HMIL’s total sales for January, 2011 stood at 43,316 units as against 52,628 units in January, 2010 registering a decline of 17.7%. The domestic sales accounted for 30,306 units as against 29,601 units in January, 2010 while the exports dipped by 43.5% from 23,027 units in January, 2010 to 13,010 units in January, 2011. The ‘Next Gen i10’ continues to ride on its popularity with record sales of 16,694 units in the domestic market this month and it was also the best-selling compact car in the Indian market in CY 2010.
Nissan Motor registers domestic sales of 1857 units. in January 2011
Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL), announced that it has registered its highest ever domestic sales of 1857 nos. in the month of January 2011 as against 40 nos. in January 2010. Out of the total 1857 units, Nissan Micra, the made-in-India Global compact hatchback, leads the sales figures with 1784 units in January 2011 as against 1057 nos. sold in December 2010. This is also the highest sales attained by Micra in single month, ever since it started sales in July, 2010. The company has so far sold 8225 units of Nissan Micra since sales began on July 15, 2010. Out of the remaining, Nissan Teana, the luxury sedan (CBU) clocked 21 nos. in January 2011 as against 30 nos. in January 2010 and Nissan X-trail; the lifestyle SUV (CBU) registered sales of 52 units as against 10 nos. in January 2010.
Hero Honda January bike sales up 20%
Hero Honda Motors has reportedly said that its sales in January rose almost a fifth from a year earlier to 466,524 units. The report stated that Hero Honda is a joint venture between the Hero group and Japan's Honda Motor Co
Yamaha January sales up 27.6%
Marching strong in 2011 while winning accolades for its innovative products by some of the most coveted Automobile Awards; India Yamaha Motor sold 28,597 units in January 2011 vs. 22,408 units in January 2010, thereby registering a growth of 27.6%. In domestic markets, the company registered sales of 21,974 units in January 2011 vs. 17,598 units in the same month last year. The export figures stood at 6,623 units in January 2011 while 4,810 motorcycles were exported in January 2010
