Yeah M800 is still selling outside the 13 cities!

Hyundai is lagging behind in the C-segment greatly. Accent is outdated and Verna is pricey , wish they could bring in some changes here. And Sonata transform really needs to transform!
We can not term Verna to be ‘pricey’, Just that it does not lives up to the current trend which makes the potential buyers pull away.

Hmmm no 350Z why i call it pricey is for the price you pay you don get anything except for a powerful engine! In other words its not VFM! No safety and other comfort and convenience features. Atleast they added electrically operated ORVM'S in the transform and indicators on the same. Still it lacks air-bags even in the top-end model![frustration]

The sales of Sonata are eventually dying; whereas Santa-Fe has in fact received about 535 bookings within two weeks. But how well did the Fiat’s Linea performed last month?

Steep fall in Nano sales in November

NEW DELHI: Automaker Tata Motor's much hyped ‘world's cheapest' car Nano has failed to meet expectations as it witnessed a steep decline to 509 units in November this year as compared to 3,065 units sold in the previous month.

The decline came during the month when the company had asked customers to bring back the people's car to add safety devices to prevent it from catching fire.

While the company had insisted it was not a ‘recall', it said that the addition of safety devices, a lesson learnt from some of its brand new Nanos catching fire, was optional.

Even during October, Nano failed to enthuse buyers and witnessed only two per cent growth as compared to the same month year ago.

Interestingly, Nano's sales stood at 5,520 units in September, up 61 per cent from the same month last year.

Even on a year-on-year basis, Nano sales during November was down by 85 per cent over the same period last year. In August, the sixth incident of a Nano catching fire since the car was commercially launched in March 2009, was reported in the national capital, three months after a company probe declared the car was “absolutely safe”.

However, the company witnessed a marginal increase of one per cent in its total sales at 54,622 units in the month as compared to 54,108 units sold in the year-ago period.

509, now thats a figure close to Honda Jazz!

However after witnessing the Nano sales figure since its launch, i dont think it created the kind of excitement the Maruti 800 did when it was launched.

Also i wish FIAT brings its Linea TJET to all the cities as soon as possible so as to regain the sales figures. I am pained to see the the masterpiece getting a meagre sales of 700 units.

Isn't TJet avaialble in all cities? I think it is. Anyway, 700 is optimistic figure for Linea. In fact it did less than half that figure in Nov 2010.

Here is Fiat sales for Nov 2010 (segment leader figure in braces for the same period):
Palio : 23 (WagonR - 15,617)
Punto : 699 (Swift - 12,198)
Linea : 301 (City - 3,003)
500 : 0 (Beetle - 30)

Footnote: Beetle costs 5 Lakhs more than 500. But I have classified both as 'Lifestyle Cars'.

Also i wish FIAT brings its Linea TJET to all the cities as soon as possible so as to regain the sales figures. I am pained to see the the masterpiece getting a meagre sales of 700 units.
