It’s shocking that people are going for Audi TT but not even a single buyer for 370Z, yet. As for the Volvo S80, this figure is also depressing.

@Arkin, Government offices have hired some other cars but the scene in National Capital is still opposite to what you have described.

Is it so in NC? But in KA & AP, for the past few years, almost all cars are government owned non - ambassadors. In fact, I have not seen a single new govt. amby for the past > 5 years.

7k units of Omni still even after being phased out in many cities?:eek:

Fortuner sales were expected and it will continue in the same fashion until it faces some real competition.

Volkswagen India has registered a sales record of 120.7%, comprising of all three brands, namely Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen, It is fantastic that they successfully sold total of 21,333 cars with in January – July 2010 as opposed to last year which was 9,664 units only. Now with the VW Polo and Vento coming into the competition, it is likely to increase further.

GM India August sales grow by 34%

General Motors India registered a growth of 34 per cent in sales in August 2010 compared to the corresponding period last year.

It sold 7,941 units against 5,939 units in August 2009, a release said here today.

The August 2010 sales comprised -

* 2,481 units of Chevrolet Spark
* 2,475 units of Chevrolet Beat
* 1,438 units of the Chevrolet Tavera
* 724 units of the Chevrolet Cruze
* 325 units of Chevrolet Aveo
* 240 units of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA
* 176 units of the Chevrolet Captiva
* 82 units of Chevrolet Optra.

The increase in the sales was primarily driven by the response to Chevrolet Beat, Cruze and Spark, it said.

"We are excited by the continued overwhelming response to Chevrolet Beat, Spark and Cruze," GM India Vice-President P Balendran said.

"Introduction of best-in-segment cars from the 300 series, increase in customer outreach through distribution network, our unique value proposition like Chevrolet Cashless Ownership offer and our promise to deliver quality and performance are the factors that have led to the impressive sales," he said.
Ford's August sales at 7,925 units

Carmaker Ford India today reported a three-fold jump in August sales at 7,925 units on the back of its latest small car Figo, which is getting a good response.

Figo has already received over 34,000 bookings in the last 25 weeks, Ford India said in a statement.

"The Figo phenomenon continues, and in addition to strong sales in India, we are excited about the opportunity to export this success to other markets around the world," Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said.

Following the first shipment of India-built Figo to South Africa in May, the compact car will be exported to 50 new markets including Mexico, North Africa and the Middle East from next year, the company said.

TATA and FIAT

The passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of 27,008 nos. (25,196 Tata + 1,812 Fiat) in the domestic market in August 2010, a 34% increase compared to 20,146 nos. (17,364 Tata + 2,782 Fiat) in August last year. Sales of Tata passenger vehicles are 25,196 nos., a growth of 45% over August 2009. Sales of the Tata Nano were 8103 nos., higher by 224% over August last year. The Indica range sales were 7,531 nos., lower by 22% over August last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 6,678 nos., a growth of 151% over August last year. The Sumo/Safari range accounted for sales of 2,884 nos., higher by 11% over August last year.
Nissan

Nissan Motor said it has registered total sales of 1,249 units in August 2010, with its newly-launched compact car Micra clocking 1,182 units.

The company had started nationwide sales of the Micra on July 15 and has sold 928 units in the starting month.
Hyundai
In its A2 segment (Santro, i10 and i20), the company sold 45,804 units, while in the A3 segment (Accent and Verna) sales were at 4,806 units.

The A5 segment (Sonata Transform) of HMIL witnessed sales of 26 units, while its SUV Tucson received no buyer during the month.

September - 2010 Sales

Maruti Sales

Maruti Suzuki India, today reported its highest-ever monthly sales of 1,08,006 units in September, translating into a 29.65 per cent increase vis-a-vis the year-ago period.

  • M800 - 1,608 units
  • Alto, WagonR, Estilo, Swift, A-Star and Ritz - 68,921 units
  • SX4 and DZiRE - 10,531 units

Hyundai India
Hyundai Motor India (HMIL), domestic sales grew by 14.2% over the same month last year.

HMIL`s total sales for September 2010 stood at 51,441 units as against 53,802 units in September 2009 registering a decline of 4.4%.
The domestic sales accounted for 31,751 units as against 27,803 units in September 2009 while the exports dipped by 24.3% from 25,999 units in September 2009 to 19,690 units in September 2010.

A2 segment (Santro, i10, i20) 46,673 units;
A3 Segment (Accent & Verna) 4,752 units;
A5 segment (Sonata Transform) 16 units.

wow maruti 800 is still selling?? sales of hyundai hatchbacks is mindblowing. and needless to say anything about other maruti hatches. please share more cars sales figurs.

Yeah M800 is still selling outside the 13 cities!

Hyundai is lagging behind in the C-segment greatly. Accent is outdated and Verna is pricey , wish they could bring in some changes here. And Sonata transform really needs to transform!


RSM other manufacturers?
