It is time for Fiat to make something for India leaving behind their premium image, if they really want to sell cars here.
This is no Toyota or Mitsubishi.
Ever wondered how Fiat India started exporting Linea/Punto to Srilanka when nobody was giving a dimes worth for it in India. Obviously it seems Fiat push thier cars to India and other countries when nobody wants it in Europe.
What do we get;bulky ergonomically flawed, sluggish, lesser efficient, overpriced, overrated, niggling product.
I must appreciate all those engineers and talent behind it who developed it but final product execution is sub par.

There are better cars in the Indian market as we speak. Punto and Linea stands at the lowest bottom of the tree (better avoided).Period.

When is Fiat Launching Abarth Brand in India?
At what price (18laks for 2 seater) and who is the target customer ?

Agree,
If they want to sell anything here then they need atleast one low priced small car,
And i do not think these direct Fiat dealerships would help to sell their over priced safe cars in india.

Buddy its gonna be priced at around 12 laks and its 2 door 4 seater IMHO. It seems you are not happy with fiat[surprise].
I know where you are coming from. but trust me, fiats erroneous strategies are not going to help anybody.

Again at 12 lakh price point it doesn't attracts a snob value nor a budget proposition.remember the fate of Fiat 500
(once upon a time there used to be Fiat 500 in India priced for 12+ lakh but not any more, just because nobody ever bought ir)

i know that you are correct and they need to place a low priced hatch in the market to fight the competition otherwise they are not gonna make it this time as well. Other than waiting we don't have any way to know the strategies of FIAT.

Guys, too much of speculation wont work at times. Fiat had published its India road map couple of months back and positive thing to note till now is it has stuck to the plan - be it opening exclusive 3S facitilities, improved media presence etc Fiat has definitely planned newer brand image, newer models, newer engines and newer segments. If they have to stay in the hunt, they will do it; else we know the results. So only coming few months will tell us the tale.

That's exactly is the point, its better to wait and watch. I hope this time fiat is not gonna let it go that easily.

Ofcourse fiat might have not done good with the numbers, but some body call

a Padmini, 118NE(my favourite car) UNO, Palio, Punto are crap products, NO they really enjoy that respect till today. It is a very good move of Fiat opening up their own outlets with service set up which always gives confidence to a buyer that Fiat is just next door to him if he buys one, hope their plans go well this time[:)]
